I ran across this gem of a restaurant on the late night while staying at a hotel while being displaced. When I tell you that was the best burger from a restaurant I have ever had. I meant it. It felt like I made it. Everything was fresh and delicious. Great job whoever the cooks are there.

Today marks a huge day for the city of Akron. As you may or may not know, Akron has a legitimate claim as the founding city of the hamburger. Bob's Hamburger has expanded into Highland Square and is situated inside Ray's Pub.This is monumental for Highland Square and Fairlawn residents because Bobs is a quick skip away from the local burger giants of Swensons and Skyway. However, Bob's is now clearly the best burger in Highland Square. It's not even close. Checkmate!Congrats on yet another flawless service to me but now at a new location! Fantastic job guys!

I was a little skeptical when I heard that there was a new "Bob's Hamburg" in town. For anyone that doesn't know, the original Bob's Hamburg on East Avenue is an iconic eatery in Akron. Tiny 1930's style restaurant, with a super small flat top that I think was original to the restaurant, a small bar you can eat at, and maybe 3-4 booths. Get there early, because it fills up quick! Great, GREAT burgers, amazing onion rings, root beer float... really everything you could want in a little dive. Come for the burgers, stay for the ambiance! So again, skeptical when I heard they had a new location. It's never quite the same. Well, I am happy to report that our experience with the food at the new location was spectacular! I had a double cheeseburger with fries, and my wife had a single. And even though it was carry out, WOW! Still surprisingly hot when we got it home! I was a bit disappointed when I opened the wrapper, as it appeared that my burger was much smaller than I remember, but lemme tell ya... I don't know if it got squished during transit, or what, but that baby was an absolute meal in itself! Juicy, thin patties but not smash burger style quite, melty American cheese.......... Sorry for the pause, but my mouth was watering again... the only "knock" I could come up with is my bun somewhat became homogeneous with the burger, but hey, it traveled a while, lol. Not their fault at all. So I bit into it, and the juices literally ran down my hand. And, my goodness, what's this? A tiny little shop that slings burgers, and they are actually cooked the way you ordered? Well good night! But I kid you not, my burger was cooked just the way I ordered it. Slightly pink in the middle, griddled and browned crisp on the outside. And then there's the fries! Fresh cut, but somewhat thicker than other places, and not a hint of sogginess to them. Classic fry crunch then smooth potatoey center, and just the right hint of salt. Nicely done Bob's!

Ordered a hot dog with mustard and onions and French fries. Took about 15-20 to receive which I find long for the simplicity of the meal. Once it comes out, I see my hot dog has MUSHROOMS and onions. 50/50 on letting this slide considering we're wearing masks and they sound similar. However I then notice I didn't decide a bun, just a slice hot dog. I go up and let them know and I'm told "we're out of buns, I'll give you your $2 back". First of all, the hotdog cost $3.50 so I did not get a full refund, and second of all, I wouldn't have ordered a hot dog in the first place if I knew they were out of buns? Poor service.

Someone claimed that the burgers served at the "Legendary" Bob's Hamburg were better then both Swenson's and SkyWay drive-Ins. I am going to claim that whichever genius' came to that conclusion and floated that rumor into the world must be a promo advisor for Mr. Bob himself. They're good, but not Swenson's and SkyWay good. (Neck and neck with Steak 'n Shake.)
