I'm not saying that my favorite part of Christmas is Christmas ale, but...
a glass of beer on a table
More merch...
a row of beer mugs on a counter
Cream of the Frog
Grannie's sweet potato porter...because this time of year, everybody else has pumpkin porter.
Trying sone new beer. We like the cream of the frog. Friendly owners and regulars.
"It's the most wonderful time of the year!"
Merch...
"Cream of the Frog" may not be the most appetizing name for a beer, but this stuff is smooth, clean, and refreshing! Excellent.
Got to the Black Frog late and my favorite beer (FLYING FROG) was all tapped out. Need to plan another trip soon to fill my howler!!

Best craft beer in the state of Ohio. One of the most friendliest places you will ever visit. Both proprietor and customers alike.

We decided to get some Toledo tags and this was on our list of stops. So glad we came in. We loved it here! The owner sat and talked to us for quite some time. He is only one of three black owned breweries in Ohio! Definitely need to support that! He started off home brewing and decided to open his own place. He says it's been quite successful! I started collecting tin tackers and was happy to purchase one from him. We both enjoyed our beers and moved on to the next place. If you're in the area be sure to stop in and check this place out!

Although the microbrewery scene in Toledo is seriously booming (hallelujah!), Black Frog Brewery is probably my favorite. Here's why:1. Great beer: Chris, the owner and brewmaster, crafts many styles of beer, and I've never had a beer, created by Chris, that I didn't like. Additionally, he never stops experimenting...there's always something new on tap.2. Atmosphere. This is very much a laid back neighborhood hangout. Even when it's busy, it seems laid back. The music ranges from Rick James, to AC/DC, to whaddevah! Beware the Dark Lord of the Sith...he's always present. Which Darth? Foolish question...there's only ever been one who matters.3. Value: The prices are low for what you get. 4. Food: Right across the parking lot, you'll find Mike's Pizza and More.5. Beer to go: This comes in the form of cans and growlers.6: Location: Not far from my house. Shit! Time's wastin'! Let's go now!

I love this place. The owner is great and brewing skills the best in town. I tried three different beers on tap and was very impressed. I will be back soon.

We just happened to pop into this place over a weekend while the owner was on vacation. He had two very kind and charasmatic bartenders who did their best to fill his shoes (including a few messy spins on the canning machine). Chris, if you're reading this - I want you to know that they figured it out by the second canning! This is a fantastic neighborhood spot. I could see that the 8 or so patrons that were there when we came in were regulars and "frequent flyers". We tried three different beers and they were all fantastic. But what made this place special was the company that gathers there. Even with the owner away, I felt like I was meeting all of his friends. If you live nearby, you will be tempted to join his mug club. For a modest annual fee you are granted: a "larger than a pint"-sized mug of beer on every visit, exclusive releases, chances at rare ales, and more. It's a great way to encourage repeat business and make fans. For what appears to be a one man show (who gets by with a little help from his friends) this is an impressive operation. I hope to stop by again the next time we are in the area. In the meantime, I bought a pint glass to remind me that it's out there waiting! Also - kudos for having some dark brews in the "off season". Not all of us are into that fruity summer stuff.

While Tom Hanks is America's sweetheart, Chris, the owner and Master brewer, is Toledo's sweetheart. Seriously, the beer is the best in Toledo because it is craftsman and unassuming (looking at you Maumee Bay) and it is accessible and friendly. Come for the beer, stay for the Darth Vader and frog decor, and if you are lucky, Chris will give you some Gardettos he got at Sams Club.

The beer scene in NW Ohio and SE Michigan is truly on fire, and it seems to be getting hotter by the day! Black Frog Brewery is a fantastic little taproom that's pretty far south of my normal stomping grounds. It's located at the NE corner of McCord and Angola, and it's worth the drive. Chris's beers are really good, and none of them are stooopid...sorry, he doesn't usually brew any weird-ass over-the-top crap like a "Raspberry/cranberry infused, wood-cask-aged, honey-dipped, Christmas edition, peanut butter and curry flavored West Birkshire style IPA." But he does, for example, brew a high quality Double IPA that I really love. The owner, himself, is the bartender, and seems like a very likable guy. It's clear that he really loves what he does, and this shows in the quality of his beer.

Great beer! The Easy-E is awesome! The shared space of Bar, Tables, and Working Brewery is unique. The new 70 gallon tanks are a super addition. The atmosphere is more neighborhood hang out than bar or brewery. The honey porter Froglicious is one of the best!!
