Big Boy Family Restaurant

Big Boy for us is a trip down memory lane.... They used to be a drive in with car hops. turned into dine in restaurants and disappeared from where we live. We drove out of the way to dine here for nostalgia sake only to find a sign on the door there were closing early due to a staffing concern. It gave us just 45 minutes to order, eat and leave. The Original Big Boy burger was the same as we remember, similar to a Big Mac but created years before McDonalds thought of it. The fries and onion rings were hot and fresh.The restaurant has a million dollar location on Lake Erie, we made sure to get a window seat to enjoy the view. Sadly the windows were absolutely filthy and made us regret sitting there. Hopefully someone from corporate will see the review and have someone clean the windows and hire more staff.

After trying to go to Jolly Rogers and seeing the line out the door, we went next door to this place. Casual eatery like a Denny's or Perkins. All of our food was good. Portions were a bit small.

The burgers were the only alright part of our entire meal. Onions rings and fried mushrooms both had a crumbly, dry breading. Our server messed up our order and couldn't be bothered for drink refills. The bathrooms are filthy and everything just has an unkept look. We made the additional mistake of taking two pieces of pie home. Both the coconut cream and chocolate pies taste freezer burnt and leave the most unpleasant aftertaste that makes your stomach turn, we just had to trash them. An unfortunate waste of $50, definitely won't be back!

Walked right in and got a seat was served immediately and my meal came in about 15 minutes or less. They were very quick. The atmosphere was just like I remembered, growing up as a kid when we went to our local big boy. they were playing 50s and 60s music was very nostalgic. I had the big boy breakfast. Everything was very fresh, hot and very enjoyable. I have to stop back by sometime this week and get a big boy.

This restaurant is located in an area where there is not many dining options. It has a large dining area, but is not the cleanest joint. The both was a little dirty and there were a few gnats flying around. They have a decent sized parking lot and they have dining in, drive through and carry out available.The staff there is friendly and the menu was packed with typical diner food like burgers, salads, sandwiches, soups, and a full array of breakfast foods. I found their pick 4 breakfast special intriguing and very economical and went with that. I got the french toast, with potatoes and bacon. The food was adequate, not bad. I had better and I had worse. It did not take long for them to bring my food out either, about 10-15 minutes for my entire group and it was hot and fresh.Well, this place was ok. Its upside is that is very cost effective, especially for a family dining outing and there is probably only 2 other restaurants in the area.

What a dissapointment !!!! First time there as I come up to the area to visit friends. Our server, who lacked any customer service experience, was a sad excuse for a waiter. No personality, no suggestions, no time for us. He had 2 other tables. Ooh that's hard work!!We had the hot dog and ff special, suggestions:Warm up the bunsDon't cook the hot dogs to death, ruins the Nathan name.Customers should be advised if they are going to be charged extra for onions. OMG.As I was cashing out, another waiter said something to our waiter and his answer in front if customers was I DONT GIVE A SHIT. The other waiter said something about money and our waiter said I DONT NEED MONEY !!What is he being forced to work there ???? That's what it seems like. Never again...

I was working in Motown & thought I was gonna pass motz hamburgers but it's the other way. Went home on 2 to save some coin & suddenly I'm dying of hunger. Boom there's the sign for frisch's. With my cousins the Vitaz big boy is kind of our thing. We've made special trips to valley view for the burgs. Love them.I was so hungry, the town is deserted. Maybe nobody lives here after Labor Day. Seated immediately & three other tables. Big boy fries $5 special on tap. Came out in matter of minutes. Nice lake view where else can u say that. Big boy burger was delicious. Amazing how much it tastes like a good Big Mac. With a better bun tho. Actually made like bread ha. Loved it. I ate all the fries & Diet Coke. In & out in 10 min. Back on the road & feeling good about myself & others. 4 stars for a good old classic big boy burger!!

Pretty good Big Boy restaurant. I had not eaten at a Big Boy in years, but my friends and I were on the way to Cedar Point last weekend, and wanted a proper meal before we arrived at the park. I had already eaten some cereal earlier in the day, so all I ordered was toast (restaurant toast, yum ... always so good with the melted butter ...) and some hash browns. My boyfriend ordered some sausage, which was good as well. My other two friends got the buffet, which at $8.80 or so seemed like a bargain.Waitstaff was decent as well and we were in and out of the restaurant within an hour.Also, is this the only Big Boy with a water view?? (granted, you have a parking lot view and the water view behind it) Pretty fancy - I liked it.

I was 1 of 2 parties in the entire restaurant and it took 15 minutes for someone to ask me what I wanted to drink. There were plenty of workers around so it definitely wasn't short staffed. The food came quick after that. However, it was cold AND I ended up getting the wrong side for my order. Better to wait 45 mins in the line for Jolly Roger across the street than to eat here.

This place is nice there is a gumball machine and if you get a green gumball then you get a free ice cream which is nice for kids and adults. Food comes out hot and is really good chicken there is tender and good. The people that work there are super kind, and they check in once in a while, and if something is wrong, they fix it. The inside is clean right when a table is done, and not even 2 minutes go by, and they are cleaning, and not to mention the pictures in there are super nice.
