Pancakes were amazing, one of the best I've had! Decently priced food. Our waitress was very attentive and had showed great hospitality. Small town vibes.

Good food, good service, ultra causal atmosphere, & very reasonable prices for the portions. Just a few of the reasons to give your business to a place named "big boppers".Brought my in laws here for brunch on the way out to see the lighthouse & do some scenic driving & it did not disappoint. They are simple small town Ohioans who do not like fancy & abnormal environments so a low key place like this fit their preferences perfectly. Menu had plenty of options & there were specials on a board when we came in that caught my eye. I asked the waitress to pick between two items off the special board for me & she went with a steak & eggs type dish that was very good & filling. Had some of the best toast I've had anywhere too. I think mine was just $9.Unless you are real uppity I think it would be hard to not enjoy eating here.

We went to Sandusky for a fishing trip. Our fishing boat captain recommended this place for burgers and he was right this place had good burgers. The three of us got burgers. They were all delicious and hit the spot. We were very hungry because of the 5 hours fishing trip. The French fries were amazing. You could tell they used real potatoes to fry. It could be crispier but nonetheless delicious. I got a cup of chicken soup. It was very homey. They did not add a lot of salt to it so you may have to add some to make it more flavorful. Overall, nice place.

**Pro tip: if there is a wait, ask to see the menu. Once seated, order your drink and food right away.**Spent the 4th of July weekend at the lake. We got breakfast here and saw people standing outside waiting. We figured it would take 20-30 mins but, we got seated within 10 minutes since there were only two of us. Our server didn't know we were seated around the corner so, sat there for about 10 minutes without menus and silverware. I finally went to the hostess table and asked for a menu and reminded them where we were. Put in our drink and food orders. It then took another 45 mins to get our food. I don't know why it took them that long to make breakfast food?! We also had to send back my fiancé's food because he ordered his without onions but, they put onions in it. We won't come back here.

This place is a hidden gem outside of town! The servers were fast and friendly. The decor was typical summer lake house that is fun. The food was amazing! My country fried steak was perfectly cooked and the sausage gravy is definitely homemade. I will definitely be going back!

To be honest, Big Boppers was a restaurant I really wanted to love, but I just was not feeling it after my first visit. I still was not feeling it after my second time either. However once I had my third meal here and experienced the same things, I knew the issues were not just one-time problems and I could at least give an honest review based on my experiences during multiple visits. For the sake of convenience, I will describe my most recent meal at Big Boppers, but it was pretty representative of all three times I ate here.On entering the restaurant, a staff member invited my wife and me to sit down at the table of our choice. After a short wait, a waitress dropped off menus and took our drink orders. By the time she brought our drinks, we were ready to order: a Southwest Skillet for my wife, and a Sunshine Skillet for me. With a coffee for me and a water for my calorie-conscious wife, our bill was $19.95 before tax and tip, which is definitely on the pricey side. Previous lunches (a Chili Bopper Burger, and a $10.95 bowl of Bopper Chili) were similarly expensive. The restaurant was decorated with a little bit of the nautical theme common to the Marblehead Peninsula, plus the bric-a-brac typical of an American-style diner. Personally, I really liked the positive message signs like "best day ever" and "the fondest memories are made when we gather around the table," but my wife absolutely loved the "eat like no one is watching" sign. During my visits, all the tables and floors have been very clean, with not even a straw paper lurking in a corner. Conversely, during all my visits, the restroom trashcans have been full to overflowing. I have tried letting the staff know about it, but during my next pitstop, the trashcans would always still be full. The wait for food was always fairly typical, with slow days being a little faster and busy days being a little slower. On balance, the meals have been average to good. The Bopper Chili was pretty good and the Chili Bopper Burger was decidedly average, while my wife and I felt the Sunshine and Southwest skillets were good if not a bit bland. However a perennial disappointment at the restaurant was drink refills. Despite having different waitresses on different visits, the result was always the same: my coffee cup or soda glass was empty, and either the waitress was no where to be found, or I could see her standing and talking in the kitchen. She would eventually check on me and ask if I wanted a refill, but invariably the same thing would happen again before the end of my meal.PROS: good food, nice atmosphereCONS: pricey, restroom trashcans were always full, drink refills were few and far in betweenOverall, I rate Big Boppers as being Good, and would return.

Charming updated diner with good diner breakfast. When out exploring, I always look for a diner and Big Bopper fits all my criteria: diner experience, decent coffee, breakfast all day, absolutely has to have a Specials Board handwritten and they very best have a waitress that calls you "hon". I tried Eggs Benedict which had the right flavor for the hollandaise sauce, poached eggs that were poached not boiled and Canadian bacon not it's knock-off cousin ham. My wife ordered Cinnamon Roll French Toast which smelled amazing but she didn't offer me a bite so pretty sure she enjoyed them. Great food, good value, diner experience.

The food was decent but the service was not great. Our server was attending every table in the restaurant so it seemed like they were having to do too much at once. I think it would have been a much better experience if they had two people on the floor at the time so the servers wouldn't be so overwhelmed with tasks. Our server also made a few mistakes that I think would not have happened if they had more help for their tables.Edit: After looking at our receipt we were unfortunately overcharged as well. We were charged for something we did not receive. I initially rated as 2 stars, but this has caused me to drop my rating lower.
