Baxter's Bar

Fun classy bar that has great decor and even better service! What's even better about this place is they offer happy hour on Saturdays! This would be an ideal place to stop by, get some drinks and food before going to a show. There's a wide variety of drinks from drafts, margaritas and fancy cocktails. There's ample seating at the bar and also in booths. I can't wait to come back and report back on how good the food is!

We took a day trip to Akron for a festival and stopped into this bar while exploring the town. This bar was huge, clean, and beautiful! Our bartender was so sweet and answered all our questions! You can't beat their happy hour prices as well! I got the house cab and it was phenomenal! If I lived in the area, I would come all the time!

I am a huge fan of Baxter's due to the large beer selection, friendly service, and laid back atmosphere. Whenever I am in town I do my best to stop in for a drink. Baxter's has a wide range of beer options both on tap and in bottles as well as a decent number of wine options and a full bar. The waitresses are always working hard, smiling, and hustling. Even on a busy night it isn't hard to get a drink. The restaurant is laid back but still has a classy feel with booths, a bar, and lot of hard dark wood. They did a great job with the layout and decorating.

The service was horrible. We and other customers had to go get our own drinks, silverware, and ask afterour own food. Our food was never put in to the system. When we finally got our food after waiting over an hour it was cold and lacking ingredients. I don't know why I even gave this place 2 stars maybe because it was busy.

Baxter's is breath of fresh air to the Akron bar scene. You feel like they want you to be there! The drinks are delicious and the staff is pleasant.

I love this place! I am not one to write Yelp reviews but I've had such good service here, I need to write one.Our server, Toni, is always so nice and friendly every time my friends and I stop by. The happy hour is great, serving half - price appetizers and every Wednesday they have have price wine. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Good selection of draft beers and mixed drinks, but kind of expensive. It was also loud when I went on a Friday night (most downtown bars usually are). I would definitely include Baxters in a bar hopping night with the squad.

The food was not great. I get that it is a bar and the drinks are more of the focus. Yet, I still wasn't impressed. We had a long wait for our food.

Didn't mind this place a whole lot but very irritated after going there recently. Didn't see until I got home that my bill was $15.00 (drinks) + $0.98 (tax) PLUS $0.02 (ROUNDING)....FUCKING ROUNDING......... I never consented to any type of rounding nor was ever informed of this practice. DOES THIS NOT COUNT AS STEALING? I called an complained and the person on the phone explained a lot of places do this, only their receipt shows for it where others do not. I then say that's stealing, and their response was "It was 2 cents...." Doesn't matter if it's $0.000001, the fact is, stealing is stealing. I do not know, maybe it is common and I never noticed it before? I have never heard of this practice. It seems like theft Anyways I will never go back because of this.
