Barra de Taco

We bought a house about a year ago and every Tuesday I've been driving by this truck posted up in front of SubZero Mission. But today was the day, I'd driven past this place too long not to try it. Did not disappoint. $13 may seem steep for three tacos but these bad boys were stuffed. I tried one of each and the best one by far was the steak, very tender. The shredded chicken was also good with corn salsa on it. The pulled pork one was a little mushy I thought. But I liked the crunchy/ soft tortilla combination they had working. There was a brown drizzle sauce on it which had something I couldn't place, cinnamon, maybe? They provided a lime wedge to help balance out that sweet but my big regret was not getting some hot sauce before I left. The condiments are by the window and the polite friendly young man running the truck brought my order out to my car when it was done and I forgot to grab some, my bad. Now I know for next time.

We have been catching these guys every Tuesday infront of the SubZero building in Painesville. They're killing it and often selling out. My hubby's top pick is the lime chicken. It's tasty, freshly made food...if you eat meat. They keep promising a veggie option, but have yet to deliver on it. The past few times have just been 3 tacos with only all the toppings they offer. No vegetarian protein option is available and they charge the same as 3 meat tacos. Hmmm.

The absolute BEST tacos around!! I can never pick a favorite so I love that they have the "try all 3" option...delish! Everything is always made fresh and cooked to order so you know it's great quality. It's also veteran-owned, which I love supporting!
