Barnone is a wonderful wine bar out in Shaker Heights. Although I live on the west side, it's worth the drive. They have good food, a great wine selection to buy whole bottles, and extremely reasonable pricing by the glass to drink while there. The owner is friendly and attentive, making for a great experience. I am looking forward to coming back for a fun evening relaxing on the patio with friends.

I'm giving it five stars because of the service and ambiance. We got the cheeseboard and some glasses of wine. Happy hour pricing is an incredibly reasonable. The owner is incredibly friendly and will talk to his customers all night. The place was completely empty, other than my friend and I and we got to talk to each other for hours. They also also have a room with a wide array of wine selections that you can browse after your mealThey also have plenty of parking behind the shop which I really appreciate especially in this area.

Come eat here! What a great food addition to the Van Aken District area scene. They have a large retail wine selection plus a super menu with lots of BBQ. They make almost everything on site. You won't leave hungry. My son and I enjoyed eating out front on the porch.

Extremely biased review from an extremely loyal employee ^_^. The food is great (and the menu is vast) but the staffing is low so if it's busy expect a little wait. Enjoy our extensive selection of wines while doing so! Michael has immeasurable knowledge of all his wines so pick his brain to find what you like. The patio is small lovely and quaint but please forgive the nearby traffic. Our wines are the best prices around, I'm surprised there aren't more retail customers. The new Mediterranean pasta is delicious and I think our flatbreads are underrated, especially for the happy hour price (coming from a pizza guy). Hope to see you around!

My coffee shop tour landed me back at Barnone Wine Cafe. Everyone is always so nice and while the offer "coffee", wine was in order for today. I was able to spend a couple hours getting some work . Enjoying a nice seat on the patio with a nice breeze and productivity! ENJOY!

What a neighborhood gem! We have spotted this place a number of times and I finally ventured in for a cup of coffee, a snack and to get some work done. Brand new and super clean, the cafe is spacious and inviting, with thousands of bottles of wine to choose from. I ordered a coffee and omelet sandwich. The sandwich was piping hot and delicious and coffee was bottomless. Very filling. I hear their ribs are amazing, but I was working with my hands...Menu is small but thoughtful and food is made to order. Wine list is enormous. The owner was great and will take orders of special wines. He even ordered me a non-alcoholic wine in their next shipment since I don't drink alcohol! Definitely stop in for a glass of wine, some food and a relaxing afternoon!

Small restaurant with a limited, but tasty and reasonably priced menu with a spattering of unique offerings. Perfect for a quick bite & some wine. I hear their ribs are great, but we weren't hungry enough for that. AJ was very helpful recommending something light & quick (they were closing in 40 minutes) for dinner. He suggested an Italian wine which my husband said was fantastic. Food was made to order with attentive service. They have a large wine menu and an amazing selection of wines by the bottle in the adjoining room. We will come back on a Saturday for their rib special.

If I could leave negative stars I would in less than a heart beat. We had been planning a wedding shower for my sister and her fiancé for a few months. Over the planning process we were told many different things that contradicted each other when it came to pricing and details. Sometimes we could not even get answers to our questions and Micheal the owner would skate around answering. We were suppose to have one associate that we paid to help us the hour before to decorate while Micheal was getting the food ready to eat at 12:30pm. Micheal left for no reason not even 5 minutes after we got there and left AJ the associate to prepare the food instead of helping us decorate and did not return until maybe 10-15 minutes before it was suppose to start. We were still decorating as guests arrived and guests had to help us finish because we never got the help we paid for. The food was supposed to be ready at 12:30 but we couldn't even start until 1pm to eat. And even then after we were told food was ready guests half the guests had to wait for food because it was not all ready. We ordered pulled pork but received bbq chicken and ribs instead. The garlic bread was still frozen. After people were one eating my sister scrapped and put her dish in the tub designated for it and the own said "Oh I see someone is cleaning up after themselves. Why don't you go and get the rest." Then sat down and watched as my sister , the BRIDE, went around to collect the dishes. When I got up to help he snatched them out of my hand statin he didn't want me to chip them but to still collect the rest. He became very snotty as the shower continued. We had one guest who had to arrive later due to prior plans. He made a snarky comment about her arriving late. Told her what was available to drink and when she went back to get more proceeded to give her the wrong drink. He said she was lying and the it was his bar and he knows what he gave her. Made her open the bottle because his fingers hurt then ripped it out of her hands and "spilled" half of it on the counter. There were many drinks that he ran out of that he would not put more in to get cold until someone requested it. My mom asked for a drink that he ran out of chilled. She went back 30 minutes later to see if they were chilled yet only to find he never put more in even after requested. I asked for a drink and he sat behind the bar for 5 minutes on his phone before I got it. At the end he tried charging an event fee even though the location was not closed for a private event after telling us there would be not be one if he could keep the place open to serve others during the party. He even had people come in and order drinks while we were there. If he was going to charge a private event fee, he should have turned them away or had a sign on the door. Then he caused a big stink at the end about this. When the bride came up to him to talk with him he shooed her away with his hand and said to leave him alone. I will never be back and implore you to never hold an event here unless you want it to be messed up and be treated horribly.
