This was the first time that I've had dinner at Austin's in Mentor.I went through with my wife and another couple and after a brief wait, we were seated. The location used to be an old BurgerFi, and while some of the wall treatments have changed it still looked like burgerFi.Our server was a very nice young fellow who was extremely attentive and was very quick. To ask if we were ready for another round of drinks.I ordered the chicken fajitas and my wife ordered pork chops. While our dinners look good, it was only after I started to eat it. I realized that there were many more peppers and onions, than chicken.my wife said the pork chops tasted good, but they were very dry and somewhat tough. The drinks were fairly priced around $15 apiece and the entrées were rather expensive. There's a weekly special for ribs that look like it would be worth coming back to try.All in all, this was a disappointing experience.

We got ordered to go and the servers were very nice inside when we went to pick up the order. The food however was hit or miss. Personally I got the fish and chips with mac and cheese on the side. The fish was very good while the potato wedges were just so so. The mac and cheese was just awful and grainy. Others raved about their lunch so maybe it is just what I got. Will try them again.

Food is average, service is good, the management team are like gestappos. They forget that it's a restaurant and not some secret government building. I won't be going back.

Stopped here for lunch for the first time. Was greeted by a friendly bartender who was very helpful and personable. I started with the French onion soup (which I order anywhere I can!). It was very good, but not the best I've had. I did taste the wine in it, but the cheese was very good and it had a nice, rich flavor. Our lunch came out pretty quick, so I wasn't able to finish it, but I'd order it again. I also ordered the Tuna sandwich which was very good! Wasn't crazy about the parm fry wedges - not a lot of parm taste and they were rather thick. It was like eating a baked potato.Husband ordered the BBQ Bacon Cheddae Burger and thought it was delicious. He also ordered the Bada Bing Long Island and it was super strong!! One and done for sure :)We'd love to come back for dinner ... Nice place on the strip of Mentor Ave.

We went here opening week and were pleased with the nice modern environment and decor. The place was almost empty since it was kind of late during the weekday and they just opened. The service was great, our waiter was very nice and attentive. The food was good but the side portions are kind of small for what you pay for. My fiancé got the Napa Burger with sweet potato fries and we were surprised they don't have a sweet potato fry sauce. I had the salmon dinner with Mac and cheese subbed instead of rice, and a side of broccoli broccoli because they ran out of their Brussels sprouts with bacon which I really wanted to try. They offer weekly specials and have a very nice bar area. We will definitely be back and glad we have more restaurant options in this area. Burger fi will be missed but this is a nice replacement and hope they stick around improve along the way.

This will surely go down as the most unusual dining out experience I've ever had.My friend & I arrived about 8:30 on a Saturday night. Maddie was attentive & friendly. We ordered the mushroom cap appetizer ($10 for 4 medium-sized caps). I go out to eat 2-3 times a week so I'm no stranger to the process. As I looked at the menu, I realize the prices aren't just high...they're ridiculously high: $16 for fettuccine Alfredo - and that's BEFORE adding chicken for another $4! My friend and I decide we're going to eat the mushroom caps then go somewhere else to buy a more reasonably-priced dinner.A gal named Allison brought our mushroom caps. I asked her how long Austin's had been in Mentor & she tells me she's a manager. I politely explained that I go out to eat a lot and the prices aren't just high - they're ridiculously high. I site several examples. To her credit, Allison did an outstanding job of selling the value of the restaurant. She talked about their ribs and how the meat is hand-cut in house and the finest quality and how the portions are large and the fajitas are some of the best you'll find anywhere. We were impressed & decided to hang around & give the place a chance.I ordered the lobster mac & cheese ($20) while my friend ordered steak fajitas ($17).My meal arrived about 4 minutes before my friend's meal arrived. When his fajitas finally came, they were chicken - not steak. Maddie immediately apologized and said she would exchange them for the steak. No problem.A short while later, Maddie comes back with the chicken declaring that they are out of steak and that my friend can look at the menu and select something else. It's late & we just wanna eat & go home so he keeps the chicken fajitas. But wait! We were told these are some of "the best" fajitas in town. Being a Mexican dish (& my friend FROM Mexico), one would imagine the beans to be Mexican (refried? Black??) but, no, they were baked "cowboy beans" - the type typically served with pulled pork or ribs!I ask to see a manager.Nancy was warm, gracious & accommodating. She sat down & carefully listened as we explained our experience...the high prices...one meal coming out before the other...chicken vs beef fajitas...BBQ beans being served with a Mexican dish...the small portions...She insists on comping BOTH our meals! I explain that this isn't necessary. My lobster mac & cheese was delicious - albeit NOT a generous serving. But Nancy insists. That's not all. In an effort to go "above & beyond"& ensure that we leave Austin's with a favorable impression, Nancy buys us each dessert! We really didn't want - or need - dessert. But Nancy wouldn't take "no" for an answer. "All I ask, she said, is that you take care of your server". We agreed. She even told us to ask for her by name the next time we visited.Sounds like a happy ending, no? Imagine our surprise when our server, Maddie, presents us with a bill for $17 FOR THE DESSERTS WE DIDN'T EVEN WANT!!!I'm assertive as hell. But you reach a point where the ship's sinking & all the bailing ain't gonna save ya. I didn't have the energy to argue any more. I paid the $17 + a marginal tip & we walked out.

Always very good food. The prime rib dip is our favorite. The quesadillas are great. Great salads. Everything we've tried is good (the ribs can sometimes be a tad dry, but still tasty). The problem with Austin's is the service. It's SO SLOW!!! It's been that way every time we go there. They can't blame Covid anymore. They are just slow! I watched our server stand behind the bar and chat with the bartender, meanwhile we're waiting for our food! We've tried to do takeout to avoid this issue, but then they forget stuff (e.g. au jus for the prime rib dip, sauce for the wings). The food is so good, we'll keep going back, but would be nice to have a better service experience.

Stopped last night for dinner at Austin's in Mentor the food and service good as always but what I liked most was seeing the Manager working the floor. Seating people going table to table checking on each customer's needs. This is what you want out of a manager jumping in and helping your staff welcoming customers. Continue the good work. Didn't catch his name but we'll be back !!

We happened upon Austin's in a search for a later St. Pat's Day dinner and OMG, what a pleasant surprise! The menu listed a corned beef and cabbage dinner and two different sandwich options. It's rare to find a complete meal of corned beef and cabbage, so we tried that. Our dinners arrived on oversized platters with a generous amount of sliced real corn beef, roasted potatoes, steamed carrots and beautifully cooked cabbage. Sampling the beef we discovered a wonderful layer of smoke that put it over the top! What a wonderful treat! I had a Jameson on the rocks and a true Guiness from the tap with it. It was nirvana! I can tell you from experience that all of Austin's menu is simply fantastic. But next St. Patrick's Day you gotta stop it. There's nothing else like it in town!!!

We came to Austin's for the first time, mainly because Long horn had a 1.5 hour wait....glad it did! We start had spinach and artichoke dip with homemade chips, unbelievable. Then we had French onion soup... that was awesome, best in mentor in my opinion. For dinner, my wife got a fillet and I got the French dip... Best one I've ever had. When we walked in, we did not have reservations, but we were seated within mins...server name was Bernard, he was fantastic! We were waiting on our food and he came up and asked if we were ready to order....joke of course....even the music they played was good. I would recommend Austin's for a great dinner and fantastic night!!
