I hate to say this, as I was in from out of town, but I cannot recommend this cinema. Even though I was fascinated by the history and design of it (it truly is a neat building), it is not very ADA compliant but WORST OF ALL it needs bug remediation!Went to a screening in cinema #2 and when the house lights came up, I saw not one but two cockroaches scurry (one on the back of a seat just two or so rows in front of me and the other on the ground a few more rows in front of that). I made sure to get close enough to check it out and...sure enough, they were roaches. The screen in cinema 2 seemed to have a black dot or impact mark (from something hitting it and leaving an indentation or mark). It was obnoxious to me.The concessions were pretty low par. We ordered pretzels and there was only one left so we watched two get microwaved and sprayed with butter (so it could be salted) by an employee that kept putting her mask down on her chin then back up. She had gloves on but was also handling ticket sales (probably money, too). She was nice and this happens so much these days, I'm woefully desensitized to it. There was no unoccupied place to sit and eat, as loiterers were all just sitting around waiting for their something?!Anyway, cockroaches. That is really the big and single "not again" gripe I have.

I love this theater! It's got such an old, rich, nostalgic feeling throughout the place that you can feel. A million movies must have been shown since it's opening. The price was good and the staff was friendly. We saw the James Bond movie. The picture and sound was great! The only problem was someone in the theater got bored and started watching something on their phone at full blast! My only wish, and this goes for all theaters, is that a staff member does a check halfway through the movie to make sure bozos aren't ruining the experience for everyone.I'll definitely go back!

The Invisible Man was waaaaay better than I expected!Twists and turns, a scream and a YELP, anxious and nervous, what??Well directed, excellent music and cool effects!Seriously, the parking lot scene could have been left on the editing floor but overall... A good suspenseful movie to check out!

We tried to support our local cinema, but after having to listen to obnoxious non-paying relatives of the theatre workers talk, laugh and chew like horses eating peanut butter at full volume for the majority of Wonder Park, we will not be back. Shaker cinema has been going downhill for years. Any expectation that the new owner would do any better is delusional and the fault of the patron. After coming in after the movie started, a few patrons asked them politely to be quiet, with no success. I went and informed the manager who (oddly enough) seemed to know exactly who was causing the disturbance and immediately spotted and removed them for about 15 minutes. Then they came back in and sat for most of the rest of the movie, sneaking out 5 minutes before the end. As it was, my family and I paid full price to watch about 15-20 minutes of a 90 minute movie. Seeing as how the management seems to care little for paying customers and enforcing the rules, caveat emptor appears to be the rule at Shaker Cinemas. Many of the other cinemas are a half hour away, but the food choices, management and sound quality of the movie are vastly better.

The whole building! The theatre floors are utterly disgusting with dried spilled drinks and popcorn. The bathroom toilets haven't been cleaned in ages, the bathroom floor has dried soap with gnats inside of it! I will never come back to this bathroom.

The whole theater could use a deep scrub and some updated lighting but the staff is friendly and the theaters are rarely full and clean enough to get comfy and enjoy the small releases. For big releases I would opt for a nicer theater.

Love the former and historic "Colony Theatre", I do hope that Atlas Cinemas will give her a good scrubbing and restore "The House of Curves", beauty and charm. :)

Great people! Beautiful theater and setting to watch a movie! The movie theater was very clean and was a very welcoming environment. I have been to this theater several times and I love the architecture and old school vibe it gives. I would definitely recommend.

I am heartened to see the new management upgrading the Shaker Square Cinema. It's cleaner, has new seating, and the overall experience has been excellent for each visit (I have gone to movies there five times). I have had no complaints regarding other patrons. I live within walking distance and am thrilled to see that Atlas is making movie going in Shaker Square fun and local again.
