We very last min joined the waitlist for Amazonia while out doing an activity to see if they could squeeze us in!! To our surprise they actually could which was a lovely surprise... so s/o to Amazonia for being so accommodating!!!!!Me and my friends each got a cocktail & o ur own pizza!!! .... The perfect night right? Actually yes!!! Especially at this BEAUTIFUL speakeasy!! It is such a dark and intimate place, this would be PERFECT for a little date night! --------------------------------------------The cocktails we got were:The Witch Doctor - this is a whiskey drink!!! My friend loved it and is a huge whiskey drinker Pink River Dolphin - vodka drink that is very refreshing in a unique way!! Blood Moon Rising - this drink is very nutty and cherry with some chocolate hint too!! & Seeing Stars - this was very yummy!! Prob the favorite of the group and it's super cute on top of it!All of these cocktails have a story of their own that you can read in the menu!! Truly a brilliant and very intricate menu, design, and recipes!!For what the put into these drinks and what's behind them, the price is worth it!!--------------------------------------------PIZZAS!!!! Yum!!! All of these pizzas looked so so good it was hard to pick, but I'm a sucker for a good hot honey pizza!!! So I got the spicy salami.... I ate every single piece and wish I had more to take home!!!My friends enjoyed the Margherita & the Burrata pizzas!! Both so delicious and cooked perfectly!! I think only one of us has a piece left to take home!! Margherita is a perfect classic & their basil was so yummy!!The Burrata was delicious... you get a huge chuck of cheese... who doesn't love that!? And the balsamic on the pizza was a 10/10 decision!!!Can't wait to come back and try more!!!!!

Quaint, homey bar with excellent menu. Tucked away in a converted house Amazonia is inviting with an excellent wait staff and delicious menu in the heart of Lakewood. We walked over to Amazonia after purchasing a wedding dress for a family member. You get a FREE bottle of champagne with purchase! In an addition we ordered a few appetizers and sandwiches. The ceviche and guacamole were so fresh and full of flavor. Ambiance was on point, the homey vibe was inviting and once spring had sprung we will be back to take advantage of the backyard.

We walked in on a Monday around 5:30pm and it was pretty empty. We got seated right away and ordered some cocktails and food.We started off with the Glory and gold for me and the witch doctor for my husband. Both drinks were decent, but I think could have been better balanced. We also got the mushroom pizza which was surprisingly the highlight and the ceviche which was standard. We got a second round of drinks including the blood moon rising and pink river dolphin and the pistachio pizza. It was good but nothing special. I think the cocktails were a little disappointing for a cocktail bar but their house made Neapolitan style pizza was surprisingly the star. Overall 3/5

I'm a huge fan of the vibe of cocktail bars and speakeasies, so I knew me and my ladies would have to stop by. The drinks were picturesque, the space was dark and moody in a pleasant way and Tuesday is half price pizza night (bonus!). Our server was in a jacketless tux and was spot on with recommendations and personality. We even toured the second floor so now we know where to go with a larger group. Next time I'll have to stop by in the summer to check out the patio.

Delicious eccentric cocktails. Only downside is they are all pre batched so no customization like lower sugar (no simple syrup) for people like me with diabetes. Delightful menu with great shareable appetizers like ceviche and dry but flavorful chicken skewers and pizzas. Peruvian Amazon theme with club music later ~830pm. Open super late til 2am. Beautiful place in a two story house with lots of alcoves for a nice quiet conversation.

This restaurant was such a wonderful experience! The ambiance was amazing--dark, romantic, and calm. The food was unbelievably good--everything tasted perfect. The service was fast, and everyone was very kind.

Incredible drinks, exquisite ambiance. If only the service matched up. Every time I've been here, I've been disappointed by the service I've received -- like it's a nuisance for the servers to have to do their jobs. This place deserves a solid five stars for how cool it is and how creative its cocktails are, but unless the service markedly improves, I just can't do it.

Ah yes, another gem in Lakewood. I visited Amazonia on a Saturday at 5:30pm with a friend. I was happy to snag a reservation the same day because all of the time slots between 5:30pm - 9:30pm were already secured. Generally a very good sign.I received a text 7 minutes before our reservation time advising that our table was ready and to reply if we were on the way. I over complicated things by second guessing my GPS when it told me I had arrived. If you're in front of a house on Hopkins St. towards the Madison intersection, then you're in the right place. Simply walk around the back (through the outdoor patio, which I would love to visit when the weather allows) and it is there that you will see an Amazonia sign. There are no giveaways on the front of the house whatsoever, so a true speakeasy vibe. I did notice that the porch has an electrical wheelchair ramp at the front of the house so 10 stars for accessibility, because there are a few stairs to get in the main entrance. There is not much space to stand upon arriving, as the host stand is immediately to your right and the bar is directly in front of you. It's tight but not uncomfortable. My friend and I were seated promptly and immediately settled into the vibe. I especially loved the lighting because it was moody and vibey without being too dark.I ordered two Palomas so I can't account for the craft cocktails just yet. We shared the ceviche, margarita pizza, and guacamole. The ceviche stole the show easily and the pizza was a solid second. There are no desserts so plan to indulge your sweet tooth elsewhere. Heads up that the tables are smidge small so you may want to ask for your selections to be sent to the kitchen a bit apart so there's enough space to enjoy without being overcrowded. Our server was lovely, and even managed to gently advise when we reached our 2 hour table limit. Completely understandable! I shall indeed be back soon. Very nice treat to have Amazonia right here in our Lakewood backyard.

I've been wanting to visit Amazonia for a while, so I was pleasantly surprised that there was a 5:30 reservation available on a Saturday night. Upon arrival you may question whether you're in the right space. There's no obvious sign or door to be seen from the street, but if you're cool, you'll figure it out eventually. The space is small and dark with red lighting throughout. The vibe is definitely cozy, mysterious, and sexy. There's a small bar as soon as you walk in, which I didn't expect. We were seated at a small two-top table with one side utilizing a large leather couch for seating. Very cozy and fun, but I think it made eating and drinking slightly difficult because it was pretty low. We ordered cocktails and a few appetizers to share. The ceviche was AMAZING. I enjoy all kinds of ceviche, but this was great. It was more of a cream base in addition to the acid/citrus, Peruvian style. The shrimp was perfectly cooked amongst some red onions, avocado and pineapple. I honestly could have drank the broth like soup. We also got the guacamole, which was also tasty. Super fresh avocados. Last, we shared a margherita pizza. The sauce was light and the crust was perfectly cooked but soft. Obviously not a ton of cheese, just the mozzarella, but I didn't miss it at all. I know the cocktails are supposed to be the focus of this place, but the food was definitely an unexpected star. I got the Mezcal cocktail, Cactus Flower. Good and had a pretty orange peel ice cube. I also got a paloma, that was refreshing and true to form. I can't wait to go back!

Made online reservation a week ago. 2 days ago some friends decided to join us, so I phoned Amazonia. Whoever I spoke to looked up my reservation, and said they would change it to 4 people no problem. We show up tonight and apparently whoever I spoke to did not change it, and they could not accommodate the extra two diners. Nobody could help, and nobody seemed to care. We ended up leaving.
