I was excited to hear about the restaurant's opening since Cleveland's ramen scene is pretty lacking. There are some good ramen joints but in my opinion, not enough. Fortunately, Alpha Ramen is a delicious addition to the city's ramen scene. For my meal, I ordered black garlic oil ramen ($14.99) and takoyaki ($5.99). My friend got gyudon, a Japanese rice bowl with beef. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the takoyaki; my order came with 6 generously sized balls. The balls were delicious, slightly crispy on the outside while being soft and gooey on the inside. They were filled with decently sized pieces of octopus and were covered with a lot of bonito flakes (perhaps a bit too much in my opinion). However, the black garlic oil ramen was the star of the show. If you like black garlic, you will most likely love this ramen, and I loved this ramen. The broth was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The noodles were also fantastic; they had a great chew to them and weren't at all mushy or overcooked. I also enjoyed the toppings, especially the thick long slices of tender chashu and egg with a jammy yolk. I didn't particularly care for the bamboo shoots, but I never particularly care for bamboo shoots, and they didn't detract from my delight with the ramen. The ramen also came with fish cakes, corn, scallions, and wood ear mushrooms. My friend was less impressed by her gyudon. The beef was tender, and it had a pleasant savory yet slightly sweet taste. But both of us agreed that there wasn't enough of it, and there was too much white rice, which wasn't as soft and fluffy as we would have liked. But if you're a fan of black garlic and ramen, I don't think you can go wrong with the black garlic oil ramen.

It was such a treat to find this place in Cleveland after going to the Cleveland Clinic. We visited Japan from the end of March to beginning of April and it's hard to find very authentic places. This is the most authentic that we've found in Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Wow! Loved it! The person behind the counter was very nice too. My mom and I both had the Shrimp tempura ramen bowl with a few minor modifications. They were absolutely delicious. Super authentic! We had all different kinds of ramen all over Japan and this is definitely on par with what we had there. Such a wonderful surprise! Love the walls being painted to look like a city in Japan! So cute! We'll definitely be back to try the pork buns, gyoza and onigiri. If you love Japanese food, do yourself a favor and try it. You won't be sorry.

Maybe they were understaffed I'm not sure but wow the food took a long time to come out. It seemed like they prepare one entree at a time rather than several at a time . I was underwhelmed by my pork ground beef miso bowl. For $15 the serving was a little selfish. The broth very salty making so thirsty at the end. I was quite full by the time I got to the kimchi fried rice. It was just mediocre. Ended up taking it home and a little disgusted at how much oil used to make the dish when I transferred it to a to go box

Got takeout from Alpha Ramen on a cold winter day when we were craving some warm soup and it hit the spot! The store interior itself looks very fast-casual and not necessarily a spot for a refined dining experience, but the food is good. We tried the spicy tonkatsu and black garlic oil soup bases. I personally liked the black garlic oil better as it had a unique umami flavor. The portions were generous with a good amount of topping and the ramen was cooked well, even for takeout. Definitely a solid spot for a quick affordable bite in Asiatown!

My daughter has been asking for me to find an authentic ramen restaurant so, when I planned a day in Cleveland for her, I knew I had to find a spot for lunch. This was our first time at a ramen restaurant so we were a little intimidated. But the person at the counter was extremely helpful. Both of our bowls were delicious and full of flavor. We will def be back!

Incredible ramen. We had the cheese corn dog and takoyaki and they were both delicious we ate all of it lol. I had the spicy tonkotsu ramen & my partner got the byo spicy miso & shrimp, both delicious and spicy we picked spicy as our level of heat and it was the best choice. The ambiance was very relaxing I felt and home. The decor is cartoonish and you feel like you're in a coloring book. The service was attentive and we will definitely come back we enjoyed this culinary experience.

Alpha ramen is a exciting new Ramen place opened up in Asia town. I came to tryouts place with my friends, I was pleasantly surprised by the many options on the menu. I opted for a black garlic oil ramen, which is one of the most popular items according to the cashier. They also have combo options where you can get selected ramens paired with bubble tea or appetizers for a cheaper price. The inside is really cute, and the decor styled like the drawing/sketch cafés that you see in Asia.As far as the food goes, the takoyaki and corndog were quite good, so the portions were smaller than we expected based off of the photos. I personally do not get the bubble tea, though my friends felt like the flavor was rather bland, and even though they didn't ask for a reduction in sweetness, the Tiger Sugar bubble tea was not very sweet. As far as the ramen goes, I really enjoy the flavor of it and the toppings were delicious. However, all of us felt like the ramen broth could've been much hotter. Even the eggs were cold and felt like they had been just in the fridge. I am excited that more ramen places are opening in Cleveland, and I think alpha ramen can really be great if they make a few improvements.

The best ramen I have ever tasted! I got the spicy tonkotsu ramen. Oh my goodness, I can't wait to come back and have it again. It comes with pork belly and a marinated egg, corn, seaweed, of course noodles, and a delicious sauce. The noodles were spring and plentiful! I also got Jasmine tea. I don't know why they're Jasmine. Tea tastes. better than other places, but they do! Small place inside there's only about 10 tables, but they have cute artwork on the wall it's very clean !

The food here is absolutely delicious, and the portion sizes are on the generous side. We've ordered several types of ramen from here and have yet to be disappointed. My personal favorite is the spicy tonkatsu ramen, which has a deep flavor and tender meat. Although if you really want to turn up the heat, then go for the fiery chicken umami ramen! Along with their flagship meal, the appetizers and sides shouldn't be overlooked. The pork buns are tasty, and they could easily serve as a full meal by themselves. The onigiri are a nice treat, and the takoyaki are large and delicious as well. Their drink menu sports a wide variety of milk teas, so it's always fun to try a new flavor each time (the coconut flavor is my current favorite!).Alpha Ramen has quickly become a restaurant that has made its way into my regulars list. A must-try if you are searching for filling ramen and other tasty Japanese items!
