Acme Fresh Market

We stopped in to buy some random groceries that we needed... no problem there, they had all the vegetables, dairy products, and bread we needed. The reason I am writing this is their wine. We walked by and took a look at their rather wide selection and found some real gems. We found quite a few really nice bottles that were selling for about 50% off the expected price. On top of that we got an additional 10% off for buying 6 or more bottles. We are in town for just 3 nights but will definitely head back for more wine before we continue our trip.

it's cheaper then giant Eagle, better staff, and unlike large chain stores shopping here doesn't ruin the economy.

While visiting Kent, we decided to stop at Acme Supermarket. It feels a little strange reviewing a supermarket, but this one is rather worth the review. I had never been to an Acme before and have to say that I like the layout and how well lit this place is. Some grocery stores are really dim and depressing, but not here. The aisles are very large and spacious and there is an excellent selection of produce, meats, cheese, and all other things.When there, I only purchased a few items as that is all I needed. However, I did take the time to walk around and found that they had a great organic section that rivals some of the competitors in the area. Also, they have a really wonderful floral department that was filled to the brim with blooms. Acme is a really nice place to shop and if I were a resident in Kent, this would be the place that I would be shopping. The meat department is also large and plentiful and they look like they have a good selection of meats--something that is important as well.If you are in the Kent area and need a place to grocery shop, Acme is the place.

I've placed 3 online orders with this store and they seem to select very large items in the produce department so the charges are more. Was charged for 10# of potatoes and got one potato. I have yet to find the last order placed with them as I think I ordered a purple cabbage but received a very large green one.

Been shopping here for years just had the best experience ever cashier gave me the wrong change gave her the money back she was most polite courteous cashier ever.Keep in mind when you do a review you're not hurting just to store your hurting the employees and everyone relies on that for there income.They have great produce always have the best deal on meats and their employees are top notch.I wish all grocery stores conducted business this way after reading the other reviews they should be shopping at Walmart.....

I'm not sure why anyones goes to Acme when there's three better grocery stores within a 1/2 mile. their produce Dept is a joke, limited choices and old inventory. the meat /deli depts. are ok but limited choices there.the staff is not overly friendly and usually there's no one to help you, and to top it off they're normally more expensive than the others stores and without the perks like free gas or discounts. like I said not sure why you'd buy there, and based on their parking lot, more and more people aren't.

Managed to leave my credit card there on the service counter. They went above and beyond to track me down and called me to come and get the card. Thank you, Anna!They have stiff competition close with Mejiers and Aldi, but still a store worth shopping. Out of town son ordered flowers, they weren't the best. He called and we got comped flowers that were awesome. Prices are decent. and specials are better than other stores that are close..if it ain't right, they'll make it right.

Won't let you use self checkout if you don't have a savings card. I had to wait forever at their one open register to buy 3 items. Never been in any other grocery store with a stupid policy like this.

was just there with my girlfriend purchasing items for lunch and home items while on our lunch break, got up to self checkout my girl did not have her acme card so the older black lady with blond hair came over to assist (was extremely rude) then stepped away and we proceeded with our purchases, then another problem with machine arose i went over to the same lady for assistance she came over tried to fix could not asked us to come over to another, we started with that machine the store assistant proceeded to check duplicate of items and was getting even more frustrated with us, then she attempted to suspend or cancel items as the machine was not working properly but accused us of not having a card and thats what started all this WHAT!!!... THIS WOMAN WAS SO RUDE!.... so now she states we have to go to customer service and get these items deleted i suggested to just cancel all of it and i will go to register, she states we must go to customer service (this made no sense to me nothing was paid for yet) so my girl and her went to customer service and i grabbed the items that where not scanned and proceeded to then cash register .........the woman was at the customer service counter and there was a male customer in front of her when she stated "i wish this day would end" he then said "maybe not end just start over" when she then added "no end" and made a head gesture towards my girlfriend. at that time my girlfriend asked her if her comment was directed towards her and the acme lady rudely said "no ma'am it wasn't". at that time my girlfriend signaled for me that it was time to go.....so we left .....Please train your staff properly this is no way to treat customers, this older black woman with blond hair (don't know her name) needs some serious customer relation training or a new career, we have went to this store before lived here in Kent for 22 plus years and will never return to this store

This is my favorite every week grocery store in the area. Recently renovated, the new design is great though you'll always have a cold cart as they now store there carts outside. Produce is a definite better selection then at the local Giant Eagle. Prices seem to be lower as well. Meat is as good as it's always been which is fair. I rather like that they increased their selection of "hippie freak foods" such as gluten free items. My husband is deathly allergic to wheat and I am very thankful for their selections. Though a little overpriced in that particular area, it's worth it to me to spend an extra fifty cents so I don't have to waste a drive to a health food store to pick up rice pasta.Also the wine selection is quite nice. I've picked up several at good prices.Overall, I enjoy my weekly trip here. The workers are nice and pleasant. In addition, it's pleasant on my wallet!
