1875 Winery

Our first visit to 1875 Winery for a bottle of wine and appetizers was such a treat! Our server was attentive but not overbearing- wine was a tad sweet for me, but my husband isn't a wine drinker and loves concord wine. The food was exceptional! Can't wait to return.

We decided to try this place for my mom's birthday, but what a mistake that was. With the glowing reviews, I expected a much better experience, but what we got was beyond disappointing. From the moment we walked in, our server seemed like she had a personal grudge against us. Getting water felt like pulling teeth--multiple requests just to stay hydrated!The real kicker? She didn't even know what alcohol the bar carried. When we asked for specifics and got conflicting answers, we literally had to walk to the bar ourselves--only for her to argue with us about what they had. It was absurd.As for the food, it was a joke for the price. I wasn't expecting a fine-dining experience like Gervasi, but I certainly didn't think I'd be paying premium prices for grocery store sliced cheese. The only thing remotely edible was the pretzel, though I'm still scratching my head as to why it was served on a banana hanger. Seriously, who thought that was a good idea?This restaurant was a major letdown, and my mom's birthday dinner deserved way better. Save your money and avoid the headache--there are plenty of places out there with better service, better food, and staff who don't treat their guests like an inconvenience.

This place is fun! They have a variety of sweet and dry wines, plus some cocktails. This way everyone can partake. We did not eat. So I cannot comment on that. But the slushie Carmel apple drink was yummy. We sat inside. Patio looks fun. Lots of people on a Saturday afternoon. Service was good. I thin food prices are a bit high. Drink prices are in-line. Service was good. Lots of parking. It is a definite return visit.

Beautiful property and the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Their wine is on the sweet side which is expected from Ohio grapes, which was thoroughly explained by are awesome server in advance. A must have is the pizza!!

This place has a nice patio with a lake view. Plenty of seating outside. The food is good and the wine is good as well. Our server, Grace was fantastic! Quick and friendly serivce. However the inside of the winery is sort of bland. Not much atmosphere. And the prices are somewhat on the higher end.

The pizza was good...I wish it had a little more "wood fired" brown around the edges, but that's just getting picky! The flavor was good.... Especially with the arugula salad on top. The grounds are so pretty. Wine...not to our taste, but I'm sure sweet wine drinkers enjoy it. They had some liquor, so I was happy to get a gin& tonic. We will be back, because I want to see that bagful fireplace lit at night!!! Now, I don't 5 stars out lightly, so don't think we didn't enjoy this place. By the way, Grace, our server, was very sweet, as well as the young lady at the bar...I don't know her name! Stop by and enjoy!

I am disappointed to update my review for 1875 Winery after our last visit to this establishment. They have a no children policy at the Winery and I fully agree that this is an adult place and most patrons probably enjoy the no children policy. However, We were absolutely appalled at what happened to a couple probably in their early 30's with one of their set of parents on a mid week afternoon around 4:00pm. The foursome was carrying a very young baby in a car seat covered with a blanket not making a peep. The young couple was visiting from out of town and had a reservation for a table. When they approached the hostess stand the young lady very rudely said we don't allow children here so you have to leave the winery immediately. I was within ear shot of the conversation so I could hear everything that was said. The mom very calmly told the hostess the baby was just fed and will be asleep for the next several hours but if it did wake up they would immediately leave.The hostess said again they had to leave immediately and we were shocked that she would not check with a manager to see if an exception could be made since it was so early in the day and the place was practically empty and they said they would leave if the baby woke up and started to cry. Again, I don't like kids running around a restaurant and I agree with this policy but the way it was handled was horrible and I felt bad about how they were spoken to!On an upside they did tell them to go to Maize Valley Winery just up the street! I hope they took her advice because Maize Vally is a very nice Winery!

4 stars = liked it, will come back Services was very good starting with the hostess and our server. He needed to hand clear but that is the only fault. Sat on the patio which was well designed and has a post and metal fence with waist high shrubs. Gives the area a well defined space and separation from the parking lot. I hate seating that is basically in the parking lot. Pizza was good but needed to be crispier with more toppings - sauce and toppings didn't go near enough to the edge. Flavor was good. Liked the shrimp and grits and would order them again. Sautéed tomatoes added a lot of flavor and grits had a good amount of cheese.

Such yummy food, good vibes & great service!! Devin was amazing to us, made our time more enjoyable. Definitely a place to check out!

Lovely winery with nice decor. Our server was friendly & attentive. The food was very good as was our wine flight. We will be back next time we are in the area.
