Some of my favorite musicians of all time have played here so I continue to go for that reason. The atmosphere is nice but there is room for improvement and some things to be aware of..If you're sitting at a mezzanine table you are right next to the bar and there are many "shaken" cocktails being made throughout the night. So if the artist is telling a story between songs and it's an intimate moment it could get ruined by the loud shaking of the icy cocktails. For this reason I will try to get a seat close to the stage from now on. Even though I prefer to be near the back so I can stand up and not block anyones view. Also, the servers tend to stand at the bar waiting for their drinks to be made and often are talking loudly (over the artist) to one another while standing there. The women's bathroom was quite dirty, including pieces of paper towel all around (on the ground), and a strong sour odor like it hadn't been cleaned very well in quite some time. The food is eh, and service is slow. My server was very very nice but I think she had about 20 tables so she may have been having a difficult time keeping up. If you're a patient person and don't need constant attention then you'll be fine. Or you can go ahead and order 2 or 3 drinks per person in advance so you're all stocked up and ready to enjoy the show. Cheers

This place is the biggest piece of shit I've ever been to.Walked in. The place is completely empty. Waited. Finally someone showed up with a half eaten sandwich. Placed it on the back bar then approached us. As I started placing my order she immediately interrupted me mid-sentence and got distracted. She started telling other guests that the event space is closed (?). Ok. Tried again to place my order. Again, got interrupted mid-sentence. Am I on a prank show? After the third time getting interrupted, we walked out, incredibly insulted. The woman behind the counter said "take me with you!" which is a huge red flag that this place is completely toxic to both its employees and patrons and I forbid anyone reading this review to consider giving these scumbags your business.Go here if you want your time wasted and your day ruined.

Disclaimer: This review is solely for the wine. Our server was kind and prompt, the venue was nice....To call what they served us wine is being generous. They were borderline vinegar with food coloring. Each sip got progressively worse, and each wine was worse than the last. By the end flight, we were just struggling to finish the drink, and in retrospect we should have just cut our losses and walked away. The best part of the whole experience was drinking water to clear your palate, so you didn't have to have that taste in your mouth any longer. I don't know where they source the grapes from, but it tasted like they were grown on the side of the highway and the 'wine' made in a bathtub in the back. Absolutely atrocious. Do not recommend at all.

Enjoyed the flight except for the Merlot. The Cab was my favorite-sooo smooth. The Sauvignon Blanc was really nice as well. We didn't partake in any food so I can't speak to that. But it was a nice experience enjoying the wine sitting outside people watching.

i've been coming to city winery for years to check out different shows. The food is OK, the service is OK, the seating needs to be adjusted! You are basically sitting on top of each other, which I understand this is an intimate environment, but not being able to have my own conversation, without being a part of the conversation of the one next to me and them being a part of mine...not my fave! bc

Came here on a whim to try a winery and without a doubt, I was satisfied! The recommended flight was the best I had (I'm a white wine girly). The service was great as the woman who tended to me made sure I was taken care of while I was on a date with myself. The ambience was live and upbeat! If I'm back in the area I will totally return! The steak itself was amazing! Thank you again!

I visited this venue for my close friends 50th birthday party and poetry showcase. As a participant the staff was great. I didn't have much experience as a guest because the kitchen closed at nine and by the time I was done with my performance portion I wasn't able to order anything. I don't drink so it was all good. The staff was very professional. I appreciate how on top of things they were in every aspect. They kept everyone in the right areas to the best of their ability they communicated clearly what the expectations were for every guest and performer. Hats coming up Off to the staff and the organizers. It was a great event. Another review giving it to you straight no chaser! Enjoy!

This is a cute spot in the Ponce Market area. I went here for a comedy show and it was packed, but I still felt like I had plenty of room. I recommend sitting on the "upper" level cause the bottom area seemed really tight.I had the hot honey pizza. Was kinda small for the piece but expected for the type of venue. The crust of the pizza was the best part. I also had the pomegranate margarita and wine flight. Both highly recommended. The only reason for the 3 stars is the price, potion sizes and I think they needed more food options.

While I lived in the DMV, City Winery (Ivy City) was my go to for vino & live music. Back in Atlanta many year later - the 4th Ward has surprised me.The industrial backdrop venue provides a dim lighted & warm ambience with exposed brick, vintage lighting & wine barrels throughout. The lounge space boasts a stage, various table/seating options, an elevated bar encompassing a very lively & social atmosphere. The friendly service team moved at a good pace & in a synchronous fashion. Even amongst the tight spaces between tables. There's little room once you're seated & you have to turn your body/neck to see the performances. I understand maximizing ticket sales, yet stage the tables for the patrons to be comfortable while enjoying their meal & live performances. Suggestive budget around $120 per person for live music, food (limited for Vegetarians/Vegans) with a nuances of wines, beers/ciders, crafted cocktails & mocktails.Easy navigation on the website to view events & purchase tickets. Ticket prices varies with fees are around $14. Ponce City has abundant fee parking (app & kiosk payments), mostly in the parking decks. Valet parking is available right in front of the venue. Follow the signs (Security provided directions when we visited) to go upstairs for check-in/will call & you'll be guided to the venue.
