While visiting a friend in Nashville, we made our usual stop at City House, our go-to spot for a girls' night out. As always, the experience was outstanding. City House has a unique approach to food, with dishes crafted from local farm ingredients, ensuring everything is fresh and full of flavor. The menu is always rotating, keeping things exciting, but they do have some staples that never disappoint. The pork belly pizza is a must-try, and if you add a fried egg on top, it takes it to another level--absolutely fire.City House continues to impress with its incredible food and lively atmosphere. It's a place we always look forward to returning to when I'm in town.

No question, best restaurant in town. So many cool tasty places open up around Nashville each year, and as the food scene continues to grow the older places kinda get forgotten about.....city house has been doing it right for years. I believe they started the food scene in town. Every time I come into city house for a meal I am reminded why they have been around so long and why they are the best restaurant in town. Keep it up CH.

We have been to City House twice now for Sunday Supper and both times it was clear why it came so highly recommended. On Sundays an ever changing menu is served and it truly seems like the chef is showcasing his talent for flavor, tradition, taste, and having fun with it. Standouts this time were the biscuit (outstanding), the pizza (wood fired), and the Sunday dessert cake which was strawberry meringue. If you can hit it when they have the waltz cake, DO IT.

City house has a simple elegance and doesn't try to be too posh! It has a cozy feeling with some of my favorite food in Nashville. The servers are warm, welcoming and always willing to answer questions or help you pick a dish, unlike many restaurants at a higher price point! The building itself is an older house renovated to a restaurant, which fits the Germantown neighborhood and gives you a taste of historic nature of some parts of Germantown. City house has an ever changing menu which offers a new experience each time you go! I haven't had an item I've disliked the handful of times I've gone. The dessert feature was a special Valentines Day cookie plate, which truly showcased the bakers skill! The pasta was delicious - hitting a variety of flavor notes and adding a bit of crunch with toasted breadcrumbs. I can't recommend City House enough as it's one of my favorite places in Nashville.

I really wanted to like this place. James, Beard award, etc. to say I was disappointed is an understatement. My pizza was barely cooked. I want to say it's because we were there right when they opened and maybe the ovens haven't been heated up enough but overall a couple of the small plates were so were so sloppily put together I was kind of shocked, not what I was expecting. The restaurant itself is definitely beautiful. Our server was very nice not extremely knowledgeable of the menu, which to be honest. Just read like an ingredient list and was not very descriptive on what the plate was supposed to be. I'm hoping I caught them on a bad night would definitely like to give them another shot. I didn't want to post any of the photos because I thought that would be in poor taste

We really enjoyed our dining experience here! Food was fresh and well executed, beautiful space, easy parking, great service... We were especially impressed by the octopus dish. It was so soft and tender! The green beans appetizer dish was a lot smaller than expected but still really enjoyed the taste. The pizza was so great. I love the big thick heirloom tomatoes on it. Super flavorful from all the food ingredients. The pasta dishes were good but not mind blowing. Carrot cake was recommended by our server and it was really good. Very moist and soft. Would definitely come back if I had the chance!

City House was a great experience overall. My parents, wife, son and I went there on our first night in Nashville. The entrance to the restaurant itself is hidden in a rather dimly lit ally, while the interior of the restaurant appears to be set inside an old house. I wouldn't call the ambiance particularly romantic, but it is good for families and large groups--well lit, with a bunch of different rooms and tables and an open kitchen Service was spectacular. Our waitress was so kind and attentive. My son is almost 2 years old and our waitress always made sure he was situated and taken care of first. Drinks were generally good, though I did not find them particularly tasty nor alcohol forward. Both my wife and mine felt a bit sweet. Food was awesome. The highlights were the broccoli pizza and the amazing cake, which was one of the best cakes I have had in a long time. Prices were good overall for the type of food and the entire bill with drinks and dessert for 5 people appeared more than reasonable. All in all, City House combines nostalgia, approachability, and great food into one place. With the exception of great drinks, City House delivers!

This restaurant was reccommended by a local and i thought why not? Sat at the bar and looked at the menu and I'm not gonna lie ...i was a little hesitant. i grew up on a cattle ranch and most dishes were vegetarian. Gave it a shot anyway and good god this place is delicious! kitchen pie, i love you .....

Service was great but wine list was way too complicated. All wines from other regions with no explanation of taste. Menu was not cohesive. Strange apps that were not really shareable, pizza (again strange combinations) and pasta with a few protein dishes. Nothing exciting. Not sure why this is on top restaurants in the area. Food was ok, not worth going back.
