They had an impressive bourbon and whiskey list, including Pappy. Kentucky campin' was dangerous in a good way. A concerned non-bourbon drinker ordered it and loved it due to how well it was mixed, given it, muted a bourbon taste.The oysters were fresh, the tuna tartar was pretty good. The brussels sprouts were very crispy and crunchy, but lacked flavor.The old fashioned was pre-barrel aged made and it was alright. The toffee bread pudding was really good, I regret sharing it good.Nice public house vibes and great service/

I come here every so often when work gets out. The location in the Fenway area is pretty hard to beat and it's not too badly prices for the area. The bar is dimly lit and it can get loud when it gets crowded. The crew has been attentive during my visits in.The whiskey selection is phenomenal, and they have a "Whisky Club" for the frequent fliers which encourages folks to continue trying something new. This can be a great way to try something new before committing to a full bottle.The food is excellent. I am particularly fond of the fried pickles as well as the fish and chips. For a smaller appetite, the meatball slider is quite good.

Black people beware of this place. Another disclaimer: This review isn't about the food service . My friends and I stopped in for late night drinks a few weeks ago. Upon last call, the bartender asked for our final order. I asked for four shots (there were four of us) to which he responds "I overheard one of your friends say that if she has another drink she'll get sick." Now, I've worked in the restaurant industry all through college, law school and even for a bit beyond. I understand not wanting to over-serve and said, "okay, make that three shots." He glares at my friend and says, "nevermind here's the bill." Confused, I ask to speak to the manager. For context, the bar has a shelf/wall thing separating the back area from where we were sitting. The man who comes from the back self identifies as the owner (though I'm not sure I believe that). What's of importance is that he does not even have to decency to approach us but instead shouts from the back of the bar that "[he's] not serving us." So loudly and distantly that the entire bar heard him scream at us. I ask what the reason is (given the fact that the bartender himself approached us for last call and asked us what we wanted). In response, he shouts an expletive at me. At that point, I had no interest in staying there any longer. While this is happening, a white male patron gets in my face to ask what the problem is. Keep in mind, I am a woman being shouted and sworn at by not only the male "owner" but a random male patron as well. As this is going on, another man sitting at the bar shouts "get these b*****s out." In summary, as the only black patrons present, this place felt like the classic stereotypical Boston good ole boy establishment. A simple inquiry into why we were being denied service resulted in three white males screaming at me. I am upset because I've frequented The Franklin (same owner) and have enjoyed Tasty Burger here and there as a Fenway resident. Needless to say, I won't be going back. Since it's Yelp, I have to give at least one star but I'd give it 0 if I could.

Came here after a Red Sox game for a nightcap and some appetizers. An interesting place with a bistro set up and a main bar. A fun place to come after a game, pretty lively with a few TVs. The big sticking point was how well made the drinks were. All of them were very well balanced and flavorful. The appetizers we had were very good as well, the oysters were very fresh. All in all we had a very good experience here and would be very interested in coming back for a full meal.

My husband and I haven't been here in probably ten years, and I'm so glad we tried it again! I appreciate that even though they are known for whiskeys, they have a Zero proof cocktail list. I enjoyed the yummy mango rosemary one. I was also really impressed with our server, Nicole who had memorized my extensive list of allergies upon arrival and had great recommendations!We started with the straciatella eggplant focaccia with pomegranate, basil oil, and balsamic reduction which was unique, and my husband devoured it. I enjoyed the pan fried gnocchi with cauliflower cream which was an awesome vegetarian dish with a great texture and flavor- you would never know there was cauliflower in it because it tasted so cheesy with sage and rosemary. My husband had the steak paillard, which he said was ok.For dessert, you may think you've had great bread pudding before, until you try this toffee bread pudding which is somehow a light yet custardy masterpiece and not cloyingly sweet (sorry Eastern Standard). Also, they validate parking at a nearby lot...I already want to go back!

The irony is that all my companions tonight were not fans of either whiskey nor raw seafood, the two specialties of Citizen Public House, but thankfully all the other food and drink options were plentiful and very delicious! The spicy deep fried pickles were super addictive, the endive winter salad was so flavorful with a very nose-tingly horseradish dressing, cauliflower cream pan fried gnocchi was divine, and especially enjoyed the duck pot pie with root veggies. Our server was so charismatic, attentive and kind. Could not recommend coming here enough!And would love to come back and try their raw seafood bar :)

Great spot close to Fenway but classier vibe than most of the bars around there. Large bar and lots of tables. They said they have the most whiskey in all of Mass which I would agree, they had a large book of everything. We got oysters and turn tartar and they both were amazing. Prices were decent as well. The service was great, I would come back if I was in the area!

Great whiskey selection! You won't be disappointed. Tried on from Taiwan. It was 115.6 proof with great flavor. Kavalan bourbon cask single malt.

Aeperol spritz was amazing and refreshing.Oyster was bit small but pricey. Burger tasted great with juicy and tender beef. Love the portion for both salad and Burger. It was overall a great experience and nice staffs.

This place gave me food poisoning. Need I say more?!! Plus the bartenders could actually make a full drink and pay attention to their customers. This place is a waste of time and money
