Fun summer camp. Daughter has gone there and then worked there for many years. Lots of outdoor cabins and spirited staff.

As a life-long lover of CAMP (CFAB afterall), I was very excited to find a place for my daughter to call her camp home. CAMP ERNST is the place. They offer a Summer full of week-long camp experiences for kids and they kick off and close out each summer with FAMILY CAMP each year. Our family has gone for the last couple years and in July, my six-year old will have her first week-long experience. CAMP is a gift that last a lifetime and there is no better place to make memories than Camp Ernst!

I started going to camp at Camp Ernst when I was 12 years old and new to Cincinnati... it is an incredibly fun and joyous place, filled with a million things to do, amazing people to meet, and some of the best times of my life. I went on, after being a camper for 3 years to working on Crew (a volunteer program for 15 year olds - which is amazing in itself) to being a counselor and working for the camp.I am now 26 years old....and in some way or another Camp Ernst has been a part of my everyday life for the past 14 years....friends I made there, that are still my best friends to this day...stories that were created there that I get to share with people in passing, and lessons about life that camp taught me on a daily basis. It all sounds cheesy but its kind of hard to think about what my life would have been like without that place and these people...Go to Camp Ernst. I can promise you an amazing week/summer filled with swims in the lake, hikes in the woods, campfires and cookouts and amazing memories...It really is an incredible place. There are tons of "cool" things to do...like ropes courses and climbing walls, and zip lines...but I swear the best part is at the end of the week when your sitting around the campfire with your friends and wondering how you ever lived without these people...and how much you can't wait to get back to this place. I hope everyone can have memories like that.

YMCA Camp Ernst is an awesome camp in the Greater Cincinnati region. I attended this camp for three years as a camper and it was always the highlight of my summer. The activities offered are awesome: a five-element ropes course with zipline, climbing wall, giant swing, burma bridge, and airwalk; a lakefront with canoes, kayaks, aqua-cycles, a banana-boat, waterslide, and a blob; and traditional camp activities like swimming, hiking, archery, rifelry, arts and crafts, etc. As a camper, I believed my counselors to be the best people ever. I looked up to them as role-models and even followed in their footsteps and became a counselor. The staff at Camp Ernst are what really make this camp special. They care for all kids - regardless of background, race, economic status, etc. Each kid is given one-on-one attention and encouraged to grow in character and independence while at camp.I think all parents should consider sending their child to go to camp (if the child is interested). Camp Ernst is a great place for an introduction to camp for younger kids (with a specially designed program for 6-9 year olds), and a great place for older kids to enjoy age-group specific activities and traditions. Camp Ernst has been in operation for over 80 years. The program is rooted in deep traditions of character building and honoring participants for a job well done. Whether you come as a camper or join the summer staff, your life will be changed for the better.
