Yakitori

Not your traditional hibachi restaurant as they make it in the back and it's not authentic Japanese hibachi (but has hibachi in the states EVERY BEEN?), but it's good. The food is really good, just too salty. The meat is sometimes overcooked, but they have the flavor profile to the likings of most Japanese American establishments. Service is slow, as other have state in their reviews. The drinks are a strong and delicious diversion while you wait. SERVICE is THE NUMBER ONE reason why these establishments fail, and this one is no exception. No socializing, staff. Ask yourself how you'd like to be attended to. I do notice their attempts to make it efficient, and that is appreciated.

I'm not a huge hibachi fan, but this place changed my mind. If you go in expecting a Benihana style show, you'll be disappointed, but if you're looking for a great meal, this is it. Service was consistent, though a little slow. It was ok for me because I enjoyed the delicious cocktails (try the Cherry Blossom Lemonade) while we waited. Appetizers were good, but the star was the main course, particularly the rice. Omg, straight buttery goodness and cooked to perfection. Asian flare inspired the decor and there are movies playing to keep you entertained. They do take reservations and I suggest you make one since it was a little crowded even on a Thursday. Definitely worth a try!

I wasn't sure what to expect....here is how it went:It's a beautiful, warm and a smaller space. I liked the layout. Open seating bar, small tables, 2 larger tables, booths and a patio with a fire pit. Great place to host a birthday gathering at the larger tables. I think it would be a great idea to cover the patio and add heat for the winter months to provide the extra space all year round. We were greeted nicely and seated right away at 9 pm on a Saturday. Once seated, we were asked a few times if we've been helped. It seemed like the servers weren't assigned tables which caused a bit of confusion. Once we ordered drinks, it took maybe 10 min to get our drinks. Not sure what was going on, hopefully the bartenders can improve on the timing of the drinks. Our waitress was green, at times she disappeared and just didn't notice things like the need for more water and napkins, she was very nice and personable though. The lemon drop was 8/10, I didn't like that it wasn't in a stemmed martini glass (I'm assuming they ran out at the moment because I saw them later) but I loved it. One of my favorite cocktails and I was pleasantly surprised. The pear lychee was good as well if you like sweet drinks, very unique, 8/10 as well. We also ordered 2 shots of don Julio on the rocks. I prefer a large ice block in my drink but I received regular ice chips. After seeing a large ice block in a different drink, I asked our waitress about it. She said they only put them in old fashion drinks...which ok, bourbon drinks are typically served with a large ice block, no issue here really just a preference. 5 spice wings were fried hard and cooked perfectly with the right amount of spice, 8.5/10, I will order these again. The shrimp tempura had a different texture which I did not mind, seasoned right and not overcooked, 8/10. Egg rolls were solid but could have been filled more, 7.5/10. Shrimp hibachi....8.5/10....non traditional and not table side. I thought the shrimp, the long grain rice and the vegetables were so satisfying. That yum yum sauce needs to be bottled. I thought all of the prices were fair and the food quantity was appropriate for the price. On the weekends, they are open from 5pm-1am, kitchen is open until 12:30 am. After 10, you can only order apps, no hibachi. I've been telling everyone I know about this new black owned business located in Roselawn. Everything was very well done...Congratulations YAKITORI.. This place is IT! What are you waiting for? Happy Hibachi!

Food and service was great but not a good place for gluten free people like myself. The person who brought my food out told me it was the order without soy sauce but it wasn't and it wasn't until our waitress came to our table and told me I didn't have the right plate. Fortunately I hadn't eaten much because I was waiting for knife to cut my steak more. Also the yum yum sauce is not gluten free. Bottom line ...if you don't have food allergies i recommend this place otherwise I don't recommend it.

Really, really good Hibachi inspired food. Large portions for the amount. Appetizer wings went crazy. Very nice, pleasant service. Will definitely be back.

Service was STELLAR!!! Food was amazing! The vibe was vibing!!! Fully black owned hibachi grill!!! I even ordered a salmon and shrimp hibachi to go. I definitely RECOMMEND!!!

Went here and was a bit disappointed. Slow area so only one server. The doors were open to the outside so we were able to hear loud vehicles which was not pleasant. Food came out one by one and did not taste good at all. The rice was bland. The chicken and the sauces provided were not able to please us. All together, this was a not fun experience especially for that price.

Delicious food and drink as usual. Double hibachi deal this evening and half priced drinks happy hour. Drinks are strong and plate is more than enough, so leftovers for tomorrow. Al fresco patio dining for nice weather.

I was a 1st timer I must say the food was marvelous. The atmosphere was wonderful. I would suggest this place to everyone.

From the moment that we walked in, staff was attentive and very accommodating. The hibachi was outstanding; my husband had the chicken & I had surf and turf! Great portions and flavor! We would highly recommend!
