Happy Promise custard cream cakes from Korea, Hello Kitty mini puddings from Taiwan, garlic (or wasabi, take your pick) crispy peas from the good ol' PROC... Huy Fong Vietnam Chili Garlic sauce in a jar.... Hong Kong moon cakes in mini tins within a beautiful gift tin. Quail eggs, duck eggs (fresh or pickled), bok choy, bean sprouts, exotic greens. Dried noodles, dried peppers, dried shrimp. "Houston Cowboy" brand flavored soda from the Philippines. Spare ribs, pork loin, ground pork, pork hearts, a whole pig's head looking right at me from the butcher section. A wall of frozen foods, didn't study them but I did notice pot stickers (imported from an Asian country, needless to say). English as a second (or third) language on every can, box and bag. Oh.... and Tiger Balm! It's a fully complete small local independent super mart. As a native New Yorker of Italian and Polish descent, I'd call this store THE most authentic, and complete, Asian mart in the area ... perhaps the only one, too? Been here twice, the other shoppers were all Asians, as were the staff. Felt like I was back on Main Street in Flushing for a while. Which is cool. The first time we stopped in, I bought a small jar of that chili garlic sauce, which is made by the same folks who bring you Sriracha rooster sauce. In fact the jar has the same rooster logo. Never saw it anywhere else and wanted to try it. That jar got used up PDQ so we came back today for the large economy size. And of course grabbed some other goodies as well. Gotta love those happy Asian cakes, cookies, and crunchies. Prices were more than reasonable, if you're looking to stock up on any type of Asian goods, I'd say skip Jungle Jim and come here instead. Friendly employees/owners, too, who seemed happily amused by my enthusiasm for Hello Kitty - and my reaction to the pig's head.Ahh, would that we had a similar ITALIAN mart within striking distance! I continue to hope and dream. This place is meant to be Asian, though, and since Asian it is, and a complete market, five stars it is.

I've never been to an Asian market before so I had few expectations. I was really happy with my experience. The woman working got fresh bean sprouts from the back for me. She answered my questions and helped me find things. The produce, although a little disorganized, was fresh. Some of the packages simply said "vegetable" and I'm sure regular customers know what they are looking for, but again, I got lots of help.I wasn't impressed with the meat but I did get frozen salmon and halibut. The store is a bit cluttered but I think that it's fine. Don't be bougie about it and you'll be glad you went. I got a ton of fresh food for $42.

Ok. From 1 star to 5. How? Apparently they changed the owner. The store doesn't look super different but the store seems brighter, not as old feeling. I bought several products and did not have any expiration issues. I am a huge fan of cams market, with their large selection and big store. However, y and m's selection is good for the size of the store. And a lot of the fresh vegetables are 2 to 3 times cheaper! Very impressed with the updates. This place is double the drive for me compared to cams, but will be coming here more due to the good prices and decent selection on things I actually need.

This place has a bit of everything: Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and VietNamese food. I don't remember seeing any Korean products other than the Aloe Vera drinks but I had a migraine by the time I got there. Part of the reason I stopped was to get a can of UCC Milk Coffee for my headache. The coffee was cheaper than at Jungle Jim's and any other place that they occasionally have it east of California. I found some bullion-like cubes for Pho and other VietNamese dishes, which was unusual, compared to the paste I normally buy. I like the idea of not carrying glass jars as they might break on the way home, and plastic isn't always recyclable but 4 cubes in a cardboard box, properly wrapped, sounds efficient.I asked the woman about using the products and she grinned and said she didn't really know English but she has been learning recently, to which I replied "Zhong wen?" and she grinned and nodded.Still, I love finding places like this that aren't crowded, especially when they carry a wide variety of products. Friendly service and good prices are always welcome.

This place has a little bit of everything for Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and more... And the best part is that the prices are comparable if not cheaper than jungle jims. They obviously don't have quite the selection as jungle Jims because it's a smaller store but I have to say... after living in Lexington for a couple of years this grocery store is much bigger than anything I found there. So from now on I'll go here and if i can't find it here then I'll make the 20minute drive to jungle jims.Their produce comes in every Thursday so if you go on Friday or Saturday you can get lots of well priced fresh vegetables (even stuff you can't find at jungle jims like "sukgat" for "maeuntang" -Korean dish). And my husbands favorite part is that we only have to drive 5minutes to get Melona ice cream bars now :P if you like melon flavored things, this is a must try!The reason why this place lost a star is because 1: you have to have a minimum of $10 worth of items to pay with a credit card... It's understandable but still so annoying. And 2: the store smells a lot. I hope they find a way to ventilate their store better. Nonetheless, because of how much more convenient this store is for me i give it a four star!

I was so happy when I saw an Asian market was opening within walking distance of my house. They have a pretty good selection, and everything is always fresh. (Though if you want it really fresh go on Fridays since it's delivered on Thursday)The prices are good, comparable to CAM on most things. I appreciate not having to drive so far anymore to pick up a tub of kimchi. The owners are super friendly, and they have a big board at the front of the store where you can list things you'd like them to carry. The meat and seafood selection looked good too, though we've never tried any.Overall a solid little Asian market and the best (not to mention only) one in Mason since Mei went out of business.

Y&M is within bike riding distance from my house and being a person who cooks a lot of Asian food I've been so grateful that it opened up so close to home. Now I don't have to go all the way to CAM! Yay!The store itself takes up a good portion of the shopping center. It's not near as complete as CAM but it's got a small but reasonable selection of vegetables, meats and refrigerated goods - most of which the stuff that's popular in Asian cuisines; lots of tofu, napa cabbage, etc. Being a Chinese market most of the food is Chinese/Taiwanese in origin however they do still have some good things from other places like Kimchi and other packaged goods from Korea and Japan.Speaking of, the bulk of the store is the packaged/dry goods in the center.Everything is priced reasonably at Y&M and they will likely have what you need so it's a definite must-go place for Asian foodstuffs.

The staff are very friendly and willing to help, especially in the meats section. The meat and vegetables are very fresh, the store is a little small and shelves are cramped but it is not a problem.

Decent place to shop for items in hot pot and steamed pot. Also a place to buy ingredients for Asia dishes such as chicken feet, beef shanks etc.
