While visiting my parents back in Union City, I perused Yelp to see if there were any new businesses to check out. The Whistle Stop is far from new (nearly 100 years old) but their spiffied up Yelp page, photos and bio caught my eye. So, I rounded up my high school friends and visited for breakfast. It has been years since my last visit so I was happy to see the clean patio with umbrella covered tables. The interior has that classic dive bar feel with beer signs and booths filled with regulars who know the staff by name. Our order comprised of a breakfast sandwich filled with Winner's sausage, Mofo omelette and The Andy Omelette (filled with ham, cheese and onions). We were pleased with the lack of grease found in the omelettes and crisp veggies. The prices are hard to beat with breakfast costing you anywhere from $4-$7. The cherry on top from the whole experience was the great customer service from the owner. He was the perfect balance of cozy hospitality yet gave us time and space to chow down at our own pace.

Visited Whistle Stop on Saturday while I was in Ohio for the 4-Crown Nationals at Eldora Speedway. I stopped here back in June when I was there for the Dream and knew that I wanted to come back. I had the best Pizza Sub and Hot Cheese Balls. The service was great, I love the atmosphere of the restaurant and would tell everyone who is looking for a great meal to stop in. I've had many folks tell me to try a pizza - and I can see why. Man, they looked great, too. I can't wait until I am back in the area and plan to stop again. Andrew, the owner is great. His staff are so welcoming and make you feel at home. 5/5 Stars... 12/10 would recommend.

Been here before on my way to Eldora. New management. Same great Whistle Stop. My toter was dead and the new owner (Andy Riffle) came out and gave me a boost. Be back for the season opener. Andy Riffle said he is trying to sponsor the World 100 winner's purse if business stays strong.

A local hangout! Great for lunch or dinner. Pizza is very good and so are the sandwiches.

As someone who grew up in Ansonia, this was always the best place for food. I've had multiple meals here, anything pizza has always been the best. Their pizza is some of the best in Darke County and the pizza sub always satisfies. Along with the food and cheap beer, the service is normally very good as well.

Ordered a supreme 16" pizza and got a pepperoni, but that isn't the problem. They took the pepperoni pizza back to the back and instead of making a whole new pizza they used the old one to make a sepreme and it was burnt on the bottom, wow, that's all I can say!!

On 11/4/23, I ordered a chopped steak dinner, with baked potato, and cole slaw. I was told the order would be ready for pickup in 25 minutes. I arrived in 20 minutes. I live 4 blocks from the Whistle Stop. I got home and the chopped steak and baked potato was ice cold, like it had been in a refrigerator. Then they didn't even include the butter for the potato or bread that was supposed to come with the meal. When I called them to let them know, all they said was "We're sorry!" They wouldn't make it right in any whatsoever. $11.95 for a meal that went straight to the dumpster. Tired of the poor service and ill prepared food at this place anymore. I'm done with this place for good. Not getting another dime from me. At one time, this was a good place to eat. Not anymore! Save your money! Avoid this place if you want good food or good service. Also note, prices are outrageous for what they serve you.

So disappointing. I'm a strong believer in buying local but called for a pizza. Like many many times before. Got it home. Extremely burnt. Called the restaurant was told to bring it back. This at 6 in the evening. Haven't had dinner everyone was starving. They didn't say bring it back and we will make it right. No she said bring it back and we will discuss it. Man in charge said if he remakes it to will be burnt. New crust. Is this crazy or what. So now they admit they are serving only burnt pizza. So Caseys it is. Pretty sad. Never again!!!!

A+ 6 of us for lunch, Bo Burgers, Tenderloin, and Philly steak pizza. All were amazing. No liquor on a Sunday, but didn't miss it.
