Worst place to get your butchering done. Had ordered a hog whole to be cut in a classic cut. What i got was a bunch of sausage and 8 pounds of bacon3 small packages of ribs.Pork chops i didnt get any thing really just junk. And had to go back when he suddenly said missed your hams. Where the bacon ..roasts...ham hocksTenderlions ...took me almost a month to get the the forgot and gave me scraps meat and charged me 277.00 for processing. Paid 200 for tje pig ..this place is a joke

Last year I ordered a half a hog. The guy I spoke to answered my questions, and the meat was excellent. So this year I got a whole hog. The fee was higher than other butchers, but most others didn't have openings for at least a year, while Vonderhaar's was able to get the hog I ordered done 4 months out (YAY!). The meat filled my 7 cubic foot freezer, which is what I expected. Lots of sausage, and plenty of other cuts too. I just ate a bone-in pork chop. It was thick, with a rim of fat, and sooo good. The person I worked with on the phone at Vonderhaar's was polite and answered questions. Next time I will ask for some of the bones for the dog, and some good fat to try my hand at lard.
