After deciding that I was absolutely not going to cook for my daughter's First Communion party, I decided to seek out caterers for the big day. When I found Vonderhaars, I put in an inquiry and they responded promptly. I let them know what we were interested in ordering and we were able to get the price almost immediately. They delivered the food from Reading to the east side, and when they arrived they were friendly and fast! The food was amazing! My favorite was the chicken with mango salsa! I highly recommend Vonderhaars for your catering if you are ever in need of a catering for a small family get together!!

From step one, first meeting everything and everyone was great. They helped us think through all sorts of things that first time hosting families need to think through which we would never have considered on our own. And those questions and discussions helped our daughter's wedding to go smoothly.They offer a wide array of choices and also have a la carte if you have a specific request.They sent plenty of staff, guests in particular noted how nice it was that we had 4 bartenders and there was never a long line at the bar.They can provide everything and are flexible to do a plated sit down dinner with real everything (plates, cutlery, stemware) or a giant pig roast with disposable everything so they can fit into any budget. They can also do interactive carving stations or a buffet.Highly recommend them for any event, not just weddings as a caterer you can trust with your event.

I filled out a form to request more information regarding catering through their website. After more then a week with no response to my request I phoned and left a message. After more than a week with no response to my phone message I phoned on a Monday and spoke to someone who after take my down all of my specifications told me I would receive a quote through email. It is now almost a week later and no quote. I think this speaks volumes to your commitment to quality and service.

After getting engaged & deciding to get married within six short months, my husband, hailing from Reading knew Vonderhaar's was at the top of the list for the choice of caterer. With a wide selection of menus, carving stations, pasta bar, potato bar, dessert bars, vegetarian options, and a la cart options, we knew we could get what we wanted in our budget, which kept changing.Besides budget, we wanted the food to taste good. How many times have you been to a wedding and the food is just rubber chicken? Awful. After looking at the extensive list of food choices, we were able to narrow our top 8 or so and have an actual tasting. We wanted elegance, food we liked & to cater to some family members who aren't meat eaters. While all the food we tried was delicious, we settled on beef, vegetable lasagna, garlic mashed potatoes, Caesar salad, and some other choices, plus soda and beer.When the day came, the food was delicious (what I got to eat of it!) & I was impressed how staff deferred to me as the bride, made sure I and my husband were the first to eat, have wine & refills, more food (& this was buffet style) & even that the lighting remained at the level I wanted. (Candlelight was an important element at the reception.) I had many, many comments from guests that night & later about how delicious the food was & how unexpected that generally can be for a wedding.

We recently had Vonderhaar's catering for our outdoor wedding in May. From start to finish, Don and his staff were extremely professional, thoughtful and fantastic to work with. We were able to pick several items off the established menu, but they were also willing to create items specifically for us. During the tasting, we were allowed to try whatever items we wanted and Don and his staff were extremely patient with us when we went back and forth tweaking the contract and changing out items. They were extremely quick at communicating and turning things around for us as well. They were very accommodating and willing to work with our budget and really help us make the day what we wanted. One of the greatest things about Vonderhaar's was how they helped us with the bar. They provided the essentials, but we were able to add in whatever other wine, champagne, liquor that we wanted, and they only charge for what they open from their stock. They even recreated a recipe for a signature drink for us and had a tasting for just the drink to make sure they'd done it right! Their menu, at first glance, may not seem super upscale, but we shopped around for a few caterers and the quality of food from Vonderhaar's could not be beat. (And they are more than happy to create custom items for you as well!) The food was fresh, the service was great, and even the set up and decorations they had were tasteful, fun and very cute! Don and his assistant actually worked our event and made sure that we were happy the entire evening (but without being a nuisance at all). If I had it to do all over again, I would definitely use Vonderhaar's Catering and am so happy to have worked with a company that so obviously appreciated our business. If you go with Vonderhaar's, you won't be sorry!

Vonderhaar Catering makes wedding planning easy! I am having my upcoming wedding at Cooper Creek (in July). We went to a private tasting with Don. He was extremely professional and answered all of my questions. He was easy to work with and very resourceful. On top of that, the food was wonderful!!Wedding planning can stressful and it is really great when you come across a vendor that you feel 100% confident in working with-Vonderhaar's was JUST THAT!

We used Vonderhaar's Catering for our wedding in July, and they were great! Jan was very responsive and flexible during the planning process; this was especially important since we were planning across state lines. The team accommodated several tastings, since we needed to make decisions in stages. Jan kept our contract up-to-date, even with small changes, so we always knew what our current quote was. The bid and contract were sufficiently itemized to clearly indicate where costs were coming from. We were allowed to choose as much or as little from Vonderhaar's as we wanted (we chose to bring our own liquor, wine, and desserts - no problem).The day-of service was awesome. We got compliments on the food, drinks, and staff. All staff that I interacted with were friendly and flexible. Honestly, the only complaint I have is that tip jars were left out on the bar (I think that's tacky at an open-bar event and didn't know to ask in advance that there be no tip jars). Aside from that, I was all smiles!

This is a great lunch spot, if you're looking to just grab something and go.They make amazing sandwiches at amazing (read cheap) prices! It's a small convenience store as well as a deli. That means they also have salads, cole slaw, potato salad, fruit, all sorts of sides if you want a nice healthy lunch. They even make their own chicken salad! You can pick your toppings, bread, meat, cheese, everything is custom made to order, yummy, and filling! Bonus, its good for you too. The place is behind the catering building, so just watch out for that. But a great little shop! oh, and they sell liquor too :)

We just had them cater a party for 20 at our home. They came, set everything up, and the food was absolutely delicious! Would use them again and again!

Vonderhaar's catered our fall wedding. They provided an excellent menu and the food was amazing! The staff went above and beyond for my husband and I on our big day and assumed other roles to help out. Whether it was staging our dessert table or offering to help with decorations, they were dependable and polite. I dropped a platter of 25 plus cupcakes and was on the verge of a crying jag whilst cleaning them up. One caterer came over, took my hand and told me that they would take care of it and gave me bit of friendly advice about not sweating the small stuff and letting it detract from my special day. I was completely amazed by their generousity, kindness and ability to calm down my moments of panic.Unfortunately, it was raining on our wedding day and I had to walk outside before walking down the aisle. Two caters, a mother and daughter team might I add, helped me with my super long train and veil to keep my father and I from getting soaked. The staff I had the pleasure of working with were wonderful and there is not enough words to describe our gratitude to them.
