Viva La Fiesta Mexican Restaurant

They redid everything. It's a little more open. It's got some new paint and some new folks around. They have some nice music in the background, upbeat.They still have a good solid salsa, which is very critical if you're going to have Mexican food. Mexican food with bad salsa is a contradiction of terms. These guys did it right.We got here on a Friday night at Maybe 6:30 PM and had a 10 minute wait, and they had a pretty full parking lot, but they have room on the inside. Groups of two and three were being seated immediately.They got us seated, they got kids menus, and they got our drinks very quickly. The wait staff was attentive. It was a kindly older Hispanic lady. She knows the menu. She was able to deal with our splitting a couple of plates.From my wife: I like that it feels less cluttered in there, like they updated all the decor. I feel like they handled the crowd a lot better. Not sure what they did, but it worked.Oldest: I feel like they've somehow calmed the madness that it was before. It feels less chaotic.We split a flauta plate for the Littles, and they really didn't know what to do with it. That just tells me we need to eat out Mexican a little bit more.

What a delight in Troy, Ohio, to have a Tex-Mex restaurant. We are from Austin, TX visiting our daughter when we stopped by here for lunch. I was in the mood for food from home. Between all of us, we ordered the:Fish Tacos - the Hubby said they were fresh and delicious. The flavor combination went well in the tortilla and he was very pleased with this dish.Chili Relleno - daughter said this was one of the best she had. The sauce is perfectly balanced. They do not skimp on cheese at all - very cheesy!Cheese Enchiladas with Verde sauce - the sauce is scrumptious. The enchiladas very cheesy like the Chili Relleno. The rice and beans are good as well.Chips and Salsa - one of the best salsas I have had and I live in Texas!We did not expect to find such good Tex-Mex food in Troy. We were wrong and glad to have been so. The service is great here, you can tell it's a family owned operation. The ambience is pleasant and the restaurant clean. When we visit Troy again, we will be back. Thank you.

I've been a regular to this restaurant for over 20 years. It's one of a kind and the most fresh Mexican in the area. On a Saturday, it's not uncommon to find a 45-60 minute wait. Food is fresh, fast, friendly and consistent every time. Truly delicious. My favorites are Chori Pollo and Carnitas Arturo (named after La Fiesta's founder, Arturo Fuentes). Arturo's brother, Reuben, has now taken over the restaurant and added the name Viva! to La Fiesta. Everything, including most of the awesome staff, remain. Here's what you are dealing with in the business ownership and family: during COVID, one of many's favorite servers, Pedro, became very ill. It was terminal from what we understood from the restaurant's Facebook page updates. Arturo paid dir a private charter to fly Pedro home to Mexico so that he could be with and say goodbye to his family during his last days. If you're in the area, give this great gem a try. You won't leave hungry and will probably make a friend or two with the staff before you leave! Enjoy!

mexican food is most authentic you'll ever get .. my family and friends always celebrate every special occasion at viva bc they go out of their way to make it memorable overall service is on point and very attentive !! .. ambiance is great they cater to everyone .. they make sure everyone walks out full and happy .. i just want to thank all the cooks waiters hostess bartender!! .. i encourage everyone to go more than once so yall can try everything on the menu it delicious !! and yes they have many vegetarian options as well as seafood !!!! just ask ...kuddos guys !! we always have a great time there !! thank you again your loyal customers

Just a typical Mexican spot good food but nothing special. If you order take out they do not give you silverware you have to ask the guy told me people have silverware at their house

Check your order before you leave, if you ordered it to go I ordered the La fiesta Salmon and got the Tilapia instead, that's like reserving a first class seat but they gave you Coach instead.

The food was okay. I had the Taco Salad with shredded beef. The price was good and I would say the food was middle of the road. Not great but not bad either. Service was excellent. Seated immediately, chips at the table as I sat down, drinks were promptly ordered and food came out quick. The music was a touch loud but maybe I'm just getting old and anything past 20 decibels is now loud so take that with a grain of salt. Overall I would eat here again for lunch if in the area, but I'm not going out of my way.

Still loving this restaurant through the years. The food is still so very delicious, and service is fast and efficient. Had a late lunch with a friend recently and it is still one of my favorite places to get a great meal.

Their food and margs were some of the BEST food and margs I had in a really long time. The owners are so sweet and accommodating, as well as their staff. 10/10 would recommend. Honestly pretty surprised they even have any bad reviews haha. I came for breakfast and they have so many options for whatever craving, and so many substitutions. Great place for celebrations also!
