Village family restaurant love it love it love it. My parents moved here about seven years ago and they eat there at least once a week. We love their Wednesday night meatloaf the customer service is always good. Waitresses are always good. It's never too crowded and I really love their food and service. We try to eat there as much as we can when we visit.

Cannot say how much I love this place. Menu is vast - there's something for everyone. Sauerkraut balls are delicious and the cabbage soup is hearty.

Lunch here today on way home from Aims Surplus in Monroe, OH.Nostalgia: thy name is Village Family Restaurant in Waynesville, OH.Food Four StarService Four StarAmbience Three StarVillage Family Restaurant is like a time machine to my hometown in the 1950s. This is intended as a compliment. Frequent travelers will within a few visits adjust to this 1950s diner. Meal quality varies by entrée, and one will develop favorites.Service, while slow is very good, and these ladies cover a lot of ground and are very friendly.Tip: avoid busy hours. Parking on site. The tariff is appropriate for the fare.

Visited on Saturday afternoon around 1:30 pm. Seated immediately, restaurant is clean. Service was prompt. Lots of menu choices. I had a pork tenderloin sandwich with French fries. The portion was huge. It was cooked properly and had good taste. The only down side was it was served on a regular hamburger bun and I had to cut the tenderloin into quarters to fit it on the bun. The fries were hot. My wife had the bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich with fries. She enjoyed them. The sandwich plates were $10.95 each. Not my first time there and probably won't be my last.

We love the Village Restaurant. Cozy, homey atmosphere and with a large menu. The daily specials are great, the Crispy Asian Salad is delicious as are the ribs, soup beans and cornbread. They have a variety of GF choices for those who need them. Overall just a great place for lunch or dinner.

I'm sorry to only give this place three stars. I think this place has been around for years, and it looks like it. The inside looks clean, basically, but you can see it's due for an update and a deep cleaning. That was just me walking through to get to the outside seating. Because of COVID-19 precautions, the outside seating was open. The waitress was super polite, and obviously new. I'm not holding it against her, she did great. After reviewing the menu, I opted for a 2 egg western omelet with hash browns and rye toast. There were only us and another table of people and the order took forever. I honestly drank like 6 cups of coffee waiting for breakfast. The coffee was actually the best part. The food was ok, but just basic. The western omelet was just whatever. The hash browns were bland fried patties. The toast was just toast. Get the picture?? It wasn't that anything was bad, it just wasn't good.Prices were pretty fair for how much I ate. I certainly drank my fair share of coffee waiting. There really isn't much else to say about this place. I guess if you're hungry, this place will do just fine. But if you are looking for a little something extra, different, or special, then look elsewhere. Oh wait, it was a Monday morning so for some reason it's free slice of pie day. I think we ended up with two pieces of apple and one banana cream. Needless to say, the pie was just as whatever. IF I come back downtown Waynesville, AND I'm so hungry I can't wait to go elsewhere, THEN I'll eat here again. Otherwise a candybar from the gas station will suffice.
