I like the selection at Toomey Natural Foods. It's a small store but they have a lot to look through inside. The prices are high on a few things. It has some things for much cheaper. The service is also friendly. I found a good pea protein powder for a fair amount. It's about $30 or more for most of the protein powders. This one was good because of the servings per size. If you take some time you can find something that's a good deal. That's the case with many health food stores. A lot of the independent ones have high prices on certain items. It has to compete against the chains. Try getting things you can't get anywhere else and often you get some good values.

The women here were super rude to me and my mother. I have been here a few other times and nobody was being friendly or helpful, it just seemed like they wanted me to leave. I brought my mom here to show her what essential oils are and one older woman was extremely rude, and then the younger lady at the checkout wasn't nice either. Bad vibes from a health food store. Weird.

Remember to buy your vitamins and supplements locally! Toomeys has been in milford for 39 years; let's keep it that way! They are the most knowledgeable people in the business. If you have a problem they don't know the answer, they will research it to help find a solution; try getting that service at a chain store!

Great store. My family has been buying all our natural needs from the Toomey's since Pat opened in his old location. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. They always have everything I need there!

We found Toomey when we moved to the area 22 years ago -- well before there were other options available. We love supporting a local (woman-owned!) business and have had nothing but good experiences there. They keep one of our favorite frozen products in stock in the back, even though it did not turn out to be popular enough with other customers to promote on the "floor". They also have a peanut grinder (for fresh-ground peanut butter). Good selection of protein bars. We are about to move into the city but will definitely make the drive back to Toomey for some of our staples!

This is a place that has very rude Owner or Manager. ! Not willing to take the time with an out-of-town person, needing help finding a product and asking questions nicely but being treated very poorly.I'm glad that I don't live around here that I'd have to rely on going to this place for anything. It's a shame I didn't read some of the other post before I even traveled over there, as if you look in the other section there are several posts that also agree. Just plain rudeness!! I'd suggest finding someplace else to go.

It's hard to review a store like Toomey Natural Foods just days after checking out the much larger and more well-known Cincinnati Natural Foods, especially when I liked Toomey. The Milford natural food store is probably about one-third the size of Cincinnati Natural Foods' Madeira location (not sure about the size of their Colerain store), but they still have a lot of great products.Their main sections are Vitamins, Minerals, Food Supplements, and Sports Nutrition, while they also have a large refrigerated food section and many herbs. Like Cincinnati Natural Foods, Toomey has all the main brand of natural and organic forms of the many everyday food items. I'm not all too familiar with long, multi-syllable word world of vitamins and supplements, but I do know that Toomey is a reliable and quality store. Although Cincinnati Natural Foods has received a lot more attention over the years, Toomey is actually three years older and has not been run out of town because of the successes of the larger natural food store located less than 15 minutes away in Madeira. Instead, they continue to meet their customers "nutritional needs" with their vitamins, natural foods, herbs, and alternative medicine, all with good service too.
