Cozy intimate diner/breakfast spot in Dayton. Came here on a Sunday morning for brunch and even though it was a packed house we got a table in about 10 minutes. Small seating area adds to the cozy vibe. Staff was pretty friendly but not the best at checking in for refills, bringing condiments, silverware etc. Got the breakfast Sammy, breakfast burrito and tots. Everything was good and came out quickly in spite of a busy time of day. Food wasn't really anything to write home about but was pretty good. Burrito was huge and filling and tots were crispy. They were out of pancakes and biscuits which was a bummer.

The pancakes are awesome. The other items are good but not noteworthy. Our service this day was extremely slow. The others with me liked it a lot, me not so much.

Lovely local dive brunch place. Super casual, super friendly, fun art all over while you wait, great food with signature dishes. I don't know what quack sauce is but I want more!

Our first visit was a great success, so much so we are saying bye bye Panera and 'hello' Ugly Duckling. You can't beat the change of scenery with, I won't miss the pictures of bread for the local artist that fill this fine establishment. They just moved to 5th street and I must say, I'm loving the vibes this place has. And some of their cool meals. Did someone say tots? Yes, you will find tots all over this menu, thank you for letting me relive my child hood. Gluten free pancakes too, let's do this with a really good cinnamon butter and a heart pancake size makes Ugly Duckling a winner in my book. Service was spot on as Sam was making it happen. And I forgot to mention their bacon is incredible, I mean who doesn't love Bacon? But their bacon was top notch, the right amount of crispy and so delightfully good. Can't wait to put in another shift at the Ugly Duckling and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

We arrived on a Tuesday morning and sat ourselves. The place is clean and has a neighborhood feel. The server was pleasant. The coffee was good and hot, and was refilled in a timely manner. Biscuit was served without butter or jelly. The eggs, bacon, and tots had a good flavor, but were served room temperature. The tots were actually cold. We did not care for the pancakes or French toast. Both were a little soggy/mushy. The portions are large, but still expensive compared to other neighborhood breakfast places.

Service was as expected for lunch. Took a while to get the server's attention, but he was pretty busy. I was disappointed they ran out of the Honey Chicken Biscuit. This place seems new. I'm not from the area. The art on the wall was cool. Felt like a cool diner. The tots were extra crispy. So take that how you will. Depending on how you like it. The biscuit itself lacked fluffiness. Egg was fine, cooked with runny yolk like I like it.My classmate was vegan, so she ordered the other 2 dishes, so I can't comment on them, so instead, you can see what it looked like. Overall, I would come back, but I would try something else. Hopefully, they don't run out of Honey Chicken Biscuits

We went during a slow time on a Tuesday around 9 am. The people were very friendly and we ordered the World Famous Breakfast and the French Toast.The food took a half hour to come out, my wife said she saw the cook, server, and 2 others talking in the back and I believe they lost track of what was going on.The pancake was very good and the bacon was thick, wish it was a little crisper. The French Toast was above average and the coffee should be a little hotter. The tater tots was on the cool side. The tator tots was salty, but still good.We will go back, but it has dropped down on the list. I feel they will do good and I hope so! I believe it was an off morning.
