The Root Cellar

My Mr. and I was in the area and needed to stock up on wine and sake. So we decided to come here. Very small place but has so much to offer. For craft beer fanatics, this is a place for you. They have a huge a selection. From local, domestic and imported. Since I was here for wine, they too have a good section which is categorized by country. Everything Is organized and all at a reasonable price. Besides liquor, they also sell snacks and lottery. Let's say we ended up getting a box of good wine and sake.

Dan is the man!!! Presented with the unique task of locating the beers within the store that are created with New Zealand hops he willingly rose to the occasion! What an outstanding selection of beer from close by an oceans away! Remarkable options for everyone! Great knowledgeable staff!

This place is totally great. I was greeted when I walked in and asked what I needed. Pretty good wine selection and my experience was friendly staff. I asked about their reviews and it seemed like classic retail Karen's. Like I said seems like a pretty good selection to me and they're just a small business. I talked with "L" (like Elle) and Madison they were super nice. Oh and my wine is great 10/10 recommended!!

What a wonderful beer and wine store! Lots of choices both warm and cold. They dedicate a space for the local beers and most can be purchased by the single. The staff was very kind and helpful too. Masks are currently required and there is sanitizer available at the cash register. Highly recommend stopping here to pick up a few drinks!!

To me "spirits" means alcohol like bourbon, vodka etc. it was only beer and wine. The beer selection seemed VERY diverse and wine as well but we tried to stop for a gift of bourbon. This was very misleading.

Okay, so this place is cool. Wide selection of beers available- widest 'pick your own six pack' variety I've ever seen. The aisles are a little close together but it's forgivable because they are full of beer. Great way to try different local beers you might not have considered before and for prices that are really reasonable. Fun to just browse through the selection and make decisions that might be bad for your liver, but at least not your wallet.

This place is awesome. Lots of selection for beer and wine. Staff is knowledgeable and they offer a lot of local beers, seltzers and ciders.

I am a long time customer of Root Cellar, but I will never go back after my latest experience! Yesterday, on fathers day, my wife wanted to try to get me my favorite beer, Anchor Steam. She entered the root cellar, and asked the cashier if they carried Anchor Steam. The woman, heavy set caucasian, was very dismissive. Acting as tho she couldn't understand my wife, who does speak with an accent, but is about the nicest person you will ever meet. So after repeating herself a few times, the woman finally could make out the words. But she had never heard if anchor steam. At the time she was helping a sheriff officer and made the comment, "that really through me off." And laughed at my wife with the officer. My wife came out very upset. So I went in to let this woman know that she had upset my wife and that I have been a longtime customer. She had a cigarette hanging out of her mouth, acted as if she didn't know what I was talking about, and surely it wasn't her. Tho she first the description, just to confirm, I asked if she knew what anchor steam was. She had no idea. How do you work at a store that sells craft beer, and you dont know what anchor steam is? Not just that, but you want to make people feel stupid for asking. It's really too bad because I've always had good experiences here. But one horrible experience is all that it takes to influence a customer to take their business elsewhere as well as let other possible customers know how this place does business.

I looked up liquor stores in the area and this one popped up. Thought it would have some bourbon. (It's fine that it didn't) However, when we asked her about what we were looking for she gave us a snarky comment. Not friendly at all. At least she gave us directions to a nearby one.

I had seven lottery tickets to redeemed today at 12:46pm. The little girl cashed three of them and told me she didn't have enough cash to redeem them all. I had three $100; one $25; two $20 and one $10. She gave me $130 and returned the remainder to me. I didn't realize until a few hours later she kept $100 Ticket. I went back and of course she denied it. She shook her shoulders as to say, 'oh well'. They needed to check the camera pointing right above where she was sitting. UGH!!! It's a good thing I took pictures of the ticket and I will report to the lottery commission.
