The Public House Bar & Grill

Visited here last week. The atmosphere, food and service were all on point. I do not normally drink a craft beer but I did here and I enjoyed it! Big surprise to me but in the end a pleasant one. We will visit again

We stopped in here just for a cocktail. We sat at the bar and ordered whiskey on the rocks. The bartender was attentive and checked on us a couple of times. The prices were great. Seems like a nice little neighborhood place and they had dining outside. We did not try any food on this occasion. We had the drinks and were under a time crunch but certainly if you are looking for some reasonably priced alcohol this may be your spot! We will have to head back here again when we can try the food.

My wife and I bought a house in the Cheviot area so we could be close to my new grandson. My realtor, the great Ed Farrell, kept telling me about the Public House. So once we got settled in the new house, we tried the Public House. In our previous homes, we have always looked for and found a go-to friendly local pub with well above average food. We found that kind of really good pub in the Public House. We came in for a very late lunch at 3 o'clock. It's hard to tell if it's a seat yourself or wait for somebody. We decided to seat ourselves. The table was a little dirty which we at first didn't notice or would have chosen another open table. Most of the tables seat 6 or more and it was just my wonderful wife and I and there weren't many small tables. It didn't matter. Within a very short time we were greeted by 3 different people who were very anxious to clean up the menial mess on the table. The gal who first greeted us got this 13 year old young man(I'm guessing her son) to clean the table. He was so serious about making the table shine. Neat youngster. Mom wanted to know right away if we wanted something to drink. I ordered a hazy IPA beer and my wife a Chardonnay. They have a very good selection of beers and I really liked my hazy IPA. So far, very good. We had like 3 people keeping an eye on the table without being intrusive. I ordered their regular burger and my wife ordered wings in garlic butter type of sauce. The food came up looking and feeling very fresh. At first, I saw the actual burger and it looked very shaped. Usually I associate that shape with bland generic frozen patties. I was very wrong. The burger was very tasty. The meat was moist and spiced perfectly. That's something you rarely find. The whole burger was fresh, tasty and made me want to order another. Their fries were really really good. They don't look special but they were medium sized and crunchy. Better than McDonalds. My wife had the wings in Garlic butter sauce. I knew she really liked them when she offered me a bite but not a whole wing. The wings were very meaty, tender, cooked evenly and the sauce was divine. As you look around the bar, you notice that it looks like there are a lot of people who are regulars by their group conversations. Overall, we were very happy with the meal, drinks and service and are likely to make this our go-to Cheviot place. They also have a downstairs that would be great for lots of get togethers. Probably groups of 100 or less. Find your way to The Public House. It's worth it.

Solid all around experience. Bar staff was great as was the waitstaff. Menu is a bit big and a bit daunting to take in but the pickle chips and onion rings are totally on point. Rings are a touch sweet and don't require any dipping sauce at all. Pickle chips are solid with the Dukes sauce. Ciders are on point with the solid choice on tap making a boring night all that much better with Tony behind the bar.

Dropped in after helping my friend pack up for a move to Colorado. It was great they had a parking lot (that fit the moving truck) and an outside patio for toasting with beer and eating some burgers. The appetizers we ordered, the curds, pretzels, and fries were all very tasty with the hanging pretzel being a definite crowd-pleaser. I also had the Guinness burger which was cooked to perfection. Our server was also great and made sure we were all taken care of. All in all it was a great place to grab a bite and say goodbye to a close friend.

Great pub with a great west side vibe. Food portions are excellent and great variety of food and beverages. Awesome band for a Friday night. Server was super attentive and nice. Pretzel appetizer is a do not miss. All food prepared to order. Small surcharge on cards.

Came here with some Friends after a long week... Great beer selection, great service & great food !!!... I had the KKB chicken sandwich and it stole my heart !!! Super yummy I will be back to get this particular sammy again !!!

I come for the best burgers in Cincinnati and stay for the $10 buckets of beer. The burgers really are the best I've had and you just can't beat a bucket of 5 long neck beers for $10 and Kayla's smiling face serving drinks behind the bar. This has been my old haunt for years and for all the reasons I listed. It's clean, friendly and great patrons and staff

The place was packed on a Wednesday night. Live music was great. Our server was great. Food took forever. My pizza with a touch too much garlic finally showed up, but not my wife's food. Her food didn't come out for another 9 minutes. She was supposed to get fries, but didn't. Those took another 7 minutes. Would have been nice for it all to have got to the table at once. The timing on the food is my only real complaint. That's why I'm only give 3 stars. We will definitely be back though.

Good food , friendly and helpful server with the an English pub vibe. Highly recommend their burgers and will try their piazzas on our next visit.
