Recently visited Montgomery Inn, they got rid of calamari, which really disappointed me. The ribs were very dry. Did not meet my expectations, and food quality has gone downhill.

My family and I came here last weekend. I brought my boyfriend to my hometown and since it was his first time in Cincinnati, I wanted to give him a taste of all the Cincinnati staples. Especially Montgomery Inn, since he is a big barbeque and ribs fan. Montgomery Inn holds a special place in my heart - it was where we would go as kids after football and basketball games. However, our last visit was lackluster. We had a reservation for 7:00 pm, we got there 10 minutes early, and were not seated until 7:30 pm. The food was just okay. I think the quality may have gone down over the years. The positives: it is a really cool environment. While we did have to wait a while for our table, we were able to explore and look at all the sports memorabilia. It was also nice that they had college basketball on. Montgomery Inn is definitely a memorable place and I hope our next trip is better.

The ribs were fantastic! Hubs wanted ribs for his birthday dinner so we headed to Montgomery Inn. Fit the bill perfectly. My baked potato was a little tired but good. Husband's green beans looked fresh and he said they were great. Daughter got the burger which she said was great and other daughter got a salad which was basic but she was good with it. Sliced bread was served in a basket with the meal - if I were giving advice, given the "nice restaurant" feel of the place I'd suggest they should upgrade the bread offering above slightly stale sliced white bread, but maybe this is a "thing" for them?Waiter was attentive but also gave the vibe that we were very unimportant- customer service must not be his thing. We got our food and our glasses were filled, so...good enough I guess. Ambiance is 80s hotel lounge. There is valet parking at the back of the building but also plenty of free parking nearby within walking distance. All in all, the ribs won the day for us.

I've heard great things about Montgomery Inn since I moved to Cincy, and unfortunately I wasn't very impressed. I'll start with this though, the staff and environment is great, and clearly there is a long history of service and experience here. What got me was the quality of food. The food really lacked flavor and for the price and reputation I really expected more. The ribs were average to below average at best, and I'm not sure I'll be back. If you're in the mood for barbecue, there are other options in Cincy I'd recommend.

If you love BBQ, especially Baby Back Ribs, this is your local Cincy 'go-to' spot! A national award-winning (probably world famous) recipe for those who've traveled to/thru The Queen City; I grew up here so am biased, however Montgomery Inn (Original location or Boathouse downtown), will not disappoint, nor will you leave hungry - oh SO GOOD!! Overall 4.5 rated experience for excellent foods, dining ambience, friendly service and local memorabilia. If ordering Ribs, expect to pay ~$28-35pp for an entree, but their menu is extensive so plenty to choose from meats to seafood etc. Recommend reservations if coming on weekend nights or with a group.Started with a cold beverage, they have a local Ted's "red" craft brew that's on tap, or full bar options. Munch on their house-made Saratoga chips and/or Onion straws (get a combo) with famous BBQ sauce dip - fantastic and crispy! Other starters available as well. For dinner, I ordered the "full" slab of 12-13 Ribs (1/2 slab 6-7 ribs), slow cooked to perfection! My eyes were bigger than my stomach because I could only finish 1/2 my order ... amazing, flavorful, sweet and savory BBQ melts in your mouth. And yes, leftovers cold or re-warmed are great! My side dish was the loaded baked potato, which was tasty and filling as well, but other sides of a veggie, mac-n-cheese, fries, sweet potato also available. And ask for a bib to avoid spilling sauce on your shirt! If you make it to dessert, they have a couple flavors of Graeters Ice Cream, another local and nationally known favorite, oh yeah!!Don't miss Montgomery Inn if visiting Cincinnati, a must-go spot for BBQ foodies! ENJOY!!!

This time of year, seems that the fine folks at the Inn are drumming up a lackluster season by offering All You Can Eat Ribs for $29.95. Yes please. I confess that I can and did do some damage tonight. Sorry, not sorry, Gregory family! :)We made priority seating reservations online, and got seated right away. Our server Devin was outstanding. Service excellent! Ribs were meaty, sauced well but not too much, Savannah chips were warm and tasty. What's not to like.Usually you have to wait at the Inn because they don't take actual reservations, but it's slow in January so, load up.....!Well done, Montgomery Inn staff.

Absolutely great! I've been going here for nearly 20 years and I do not understand the people that claim it has gone down hill. I still love it every time I go.

The ambiance and service are great. The food, not so much. My party had ribs, chops and shrimp. The shrimp lacked any seasoning and tasted freezer burnt. The chop was ok. The ribs were dry and overcooked. Maybe it's because I'm used to Chicago-style fall-of-the-bones tender and juicy ribs. These were dry and crunchy. That said, the locals around us seemed to be enjoying themselves. I'd recommend grabbing a bottle of their sauce at the Kroger and prepping your own ribs. The sauce is excellent.

Ate at Montgomery Inn evening of 1/21/25. After not eating there for 20+ years i was expecting a good meal. Ordered the "slow roasted " brisket. I had to send back as it was tough {never had tough fat until last night). The returned item as marginally better. I thought returning it again would be beating a dead horse. the meat was toughest I'd ever been served and seemed microwaved vs. slow roasted and no taste. Server was pleasant and efficient. She tried all within her power to correct the situation. This is the reason the rating was raised to a single star. Ambiance was average for type of restaurant.I'll not return

Great service, thanks to Madison's hard work. The food was as good as usual & portions were fairly generous. The lemon dessert was out of this world, a delicious ending to a delicious dinner.
