Hubby & I needed a romantic night out so we ended up here. The restaurant was full but we were seated within 3 minutes. Our server took our order within 10 minutes. I ordered Capellini with shrimp & crab. Hubby got Crab stuffed shrimp. We both got a tossed salad as our side. The salad was fresh but one tiny cherry tomato per salad is a bit stingy. The dressing was house made & very good. I asked the server 2 different times for a lemon wedge for my water. I finally gave up & went to the bar for the lemon. We waited 35 minutes for our food to come out. In the meantime, we snacked on the delicious bread & butter on the table. Hubby loved his entree & cleaned his plate. My (4) shrimp were good but the pasta was bland & tasteless. I only ate a few bites. Our server didn't offer dessert. That was disappointing as I might have ordered some. We'll come back & give this place another try.

Heart of palm salad. What does this mean? Fresh tomatoes, spinach, slabs of soft mozzarella, red onion and hearts of palm with plenty of olive oil and DIVINE AMOUNTS OF GARLIC. Do not try the salad if you were on a first date and you think there's going to be a kiss within the next few hours. But if it's just a normal old day, you give us a shot and you were going to love your life. I have never been so excited about a salad in my life. The black bean soup had a great flavor, but the SALAD made the meal!!!!! give this a shot and be surprised at how much you will suddenly love salad in your life.

When I was growing up in Richmond, this place was THE destination for a fancy pre-prom dinner, and it hasn't changed much in the 30+ years since. Appropriate for a charming restaurant sited in a historic home. (I've also been here for a 90th birthday party and a lovely bridal luncheon shower through the years.) The setting, the ambiance, the service, the food -- all perfectly befitting a special occasion meal. That said, the Old Richmond Inn is great for a mid-week date night dinner or a casual lunch with friends as well. A couple girlfriends and I stopped in around 1:30 p.m. on a Sunday afternoon and we felt like ladies who lunch. We splurged on a mid-day glass of wine each. The menu is HUGE and takes awhile to consider. We ordered lunch servings of salmon, chicken piccata and chicken marsala -- all served with soup or salad, plus choice of potato and vegetable. We all opted for the roast potatoes and sugar snap peas. Everything was fresh and tasty, and our server was spot-on with her recommendations. For dessert, we shared a near-molten raspberry cobbler with a flat strip of cinnamon sugary crust and vanilla ice cream. Delicious, like a very grown-up pop tart dessert. It's not cheap to dine here, but all in all, a very generous amount of food for the price. We enjoyed the experience immensely, and were much happier dining here and supporting a local establishment than we would have been hitting one of the chain franchises on the east side of town for the same amount of money (or more).

Food, service, and value was beyond compare. It is somewhat of a trip from Indianapolis, but it was well worth it. I would definitely highly recommend this for a unique, experience that would not disappoint. Amazing menu selections, well prepared and prompt service. On a Sunday evening, business was brisk, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. It's on our way for our occasional visits to Ohio, so we'll make it a point to visit again.

This restaurant is a staple in the community and has been a go to place to visit when meeting up with family who live in the area. The owner is a local who has run this establishment for 26 years. The Old Richmond Inn is known for it's casual fine dining and it is exactly that. It is fine to come in dressed to the nines to celebrate or even come in with a tee shirt and jeans. The staff will welcome you and take care of you. The menu is large so there is something for everyone. My go to meal here is stuffed orange roughy it always comes out delicious. The stuffing is a krab mixture and it is topped with a Bianca sauce which if you are not sure about then just get it on the side. I had just been a week ago so I got another favorite which is steak AuPoivre. This place knows how to cook steak and fish perfectly! I have gone to catered gatherings at this place with 30+ guests and have ordered salmon and it comes out perfect every time. They have a full bar and have a strong dessert selection. Favorites are the blackberry cobbler and peanut butter pie.

A friend and I ate at the Ol Richmond Inn for lunch last week. It's a tradition when we go to pick up lumber at Frank Miller Limber in Union City to eat there. We've probably been there more than 19 times, and each time it's been great. I had the breaded tenderloin and French Onion soup. They were yummy. The place reminds me of restaurants 50 years ago. The ambiance is fantastic and the service is great too. I can't wait to make another lumber run.

I stumbled upon this place and I am so glad I did. I really wasn't dressed properly (polo and jean shorts) for this establishment but they graciously found a table for me and my aunt. The house is beautiful and there were plenty of tables inside and out for any size group. They have lots of choices in addition to their specials menu. We had the pork chops with apricot preserves. It was so moist and flavorful. The roasted vegetables melted in my mouth! The vegetable of the day was duchess potatoes which were decadent mashed potatoes. We had no room for dessert but I'm hoping to come back on a date with my husband! The service was very attentive even though it was a busy night!

We dine here often. I love the old school atmosphere and decor which harks back to a kinder time. The restored old mansion is from the 19th century. Check out the wood molding, Tiffany lamps and those fireplaces. The feel is cozy and nostalgic. If you want hip and trendy just move along.Service can be 5 star when you hit it right, such as this afternoon's waitress Emmy who was so professional, polite, knowledgeable, attentive and helpful. We do get that kind of service here a lot, but not every time. So I want you to be prepared if you get an inexperienced server who's been turned loose without enough training. This happened a couple of times during mid-week. But if you're not happy, speak up, as the manager will come through to put things right. The food is world class, perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. This is consistently the case. Everything is delicious and many of the dishes are so good they'll bring tears to your eyes- rack of lamb; steak au poivre, veal piccata or Marsala; and of course, when the timing is right, a beautiful melt-in-your-mouth slab of medium rare prime rib. Salad/soup and sides are top quality, again you can see love and care in how they're prepared. Don't miss the Duchess Potato! All the Chef's choice potatoes are fantastic, but that one is my special favorite.Save room for dessert if you can - all homemade and delicious but the leader of the pack is the lemon strada. Never had anything quite like this. The pecan bottom crust pairs perfectly with the tangy lemon filling, the top cream layer puts it over the moon. The main dining floor is divided into rooms, in keeping with the original house layout. Two of these have the fireplaces, which sadly were not lit tonight pending some annual inspection by the Fire Department. The main room has a very small bar at the rear which only seats maybe five people. That's too bad because this is the kind of place where you'd love to linger for an after dinner drink. Or at least I would. It's ornate and beautiful though and nicely stocked. By the way, prices are very fair for this fine dining white tablecloth establishment. I find the drink and the dessert prices especially reasonable! Will return often.

We ordered home made chicken noodle soup and spicy bean soup. Both very healthy choice and delicious. I ordered the Shrimp Bianca which far exceeded my expectations. The shrimp were cleaned and cut like butterfly shrimp. Light sauce. Fresh sugar peas and choices of potatoes. Lots of options for healthy choices for entrees. My husband ordered a lightly coated very fresh cod entree. I ordered the raspberry cobbler. The raspberries were from the chef's garden. Unbelievably delicious! Also, ordered peanut butter/chocolate pie. Very rich. Very friendly welcome fro the host and waitress was very good.
