Not a horrible layout but it's just a public course which is to say you shouldn't expect it to be overly prepared. An example would be today when the greens had heavy dew and were unputtable until nearly 11am I complained and was told the greens were cut at 4am - there was no evidence that they were cutI was also told "it's a public course" by a staff Member which I suppose indicates you shouldn't expect much so you won't be disappointed

Haven't played here in a long time. Very nice course with some water and elevation changes. Holes have a lot of variety. Greens were in very good condition. This is a public course and a lot of people walk. If you ride a cart like I did you can be waiting. Friendly workers. You need a parking permit for the parks. Bring drinks. There are no coolers on the course. Par 71.

I have played this course many times and have been a happy customer. My buddies and I played yesterday and although it was a rainy day, the course is in fantastic shape. Keep up the good work!

For average golfers who enjoy a full publinx experience I highly recommend an 18-hole round on The Mill Course at Winton Woods. The combination of services, golf course layout and price will meet or exceed expectations. The Mill Course was formerly Winton Woods Golf Course in the pre-80s. The Hamilton County Parks decided to reevaluate its courses and The Mill Course was born (or reborn as the case may be). The golf course is not a long course from the tips (6,376 yds) or regular tees (6,048) and there are unreachable par-5's on each side which mean the par-4's are entirely manageable.Bunkering on the course is negligible. Most are found in strategic areas off the teeing grounds. Bunkers around the greens are in moderation. The real fun of The Mill Course is its elevations, water, and the doglegs. Plenty of sidehill and uphill lies are found in the 2nd shot hitting areas. Greens are smallish so iron-play needs to be accurate. And because the course is old the tree-lined fairways will eat your lunch if you wander from them (fairways). Short, straight and accurate is your rule of thumb. Bombing it crookedly is punished.CAUTION: There really isn't a warm-up area / range. So you're going to dance with whatever partner the golf gods give you. Plenty of room to putt before teeing off. The sandwich shoppe is good with munchies, dogs and such available.PRICE: $23/$25 for golfers weekdays/weekends; $12/$19 for seniors & juniors on weekdays/weekends. This is a great deal and carts aren't over priced either. For fun golfing, I highly recommend playing The Mill Course. Kudos to Hamilton County Parks for having this course in their rotation.
