I was very disappointed with our experience. We had a very large group and I called several times to confirm our reservation. Upon arriving, our tables were not set up and they were not prepared for us. The service was poor, even with a buffet, our drinks were never refilled and the orders were wrong. When we tried to split the bills, the servers were not prepared to handle it. The food was ok. There is not an easy handicap access either which makes it difficult for the older generation. The venue is neat, but until they address these issues, I would not recommend this restaurant. Please speak with your wife as I spoke with her several times and called to confirm the 23 on 10/16.

Just had dinner here. The steaks are amazing. Also had the Gouda mac and cheese and corn creme brûlée. The service was exceptional!! Would highly recommend.

After reading through reviews on here and Facebook. There was a common theme that correlates to the situation experienced last night. Lack of accountability and ticket times can be improved. I'm not going to detail every little thing. Because after expressing my sincere critiques and observations for improvement, it was met with lines of defense and excuses of lack of communication. As in we didn't know there was going to be a presenter, why would I have requested projector and screen? There are 2 things that I feel set this entire evening up for disaster. Reservations for 10 at a private event, got there 1hr 20 mins early to situate the venue and inform restaurant that have had a lot of last minute confirmations and I believe we will have 16-17. At that point in time, if they could not handle it, we could have with a limited menu to allow the kitchen to handle the volume. I had just as much at stake with creating an great experience for my customers as the restaurant.Second the projector did not work upon arrival. So time was lost in getting that remedied verses staying on top of orders and keying them in. It took our server approx 14 mins to key in appetizers. 16 to key in entrees. Then it took 30 mins for them to come out. Then the salads came out in 2's and 3's. It took 40 mins to serve from the first 2 coming out until the last one coming out. I will also say that I didn't just sit back and watch this ship sink! It became clear that they were understaffed, underprepared and not efficient. So get me pitches of Diet Pepsi, Pepsi, ice tea and water. I will keep drinks full. I got plates when appetizers were severed and cleared for the salads. After 2 hrs from ordering (not keying in and kitchen receiving it) we asked to have entrees boxed to go. All in all it took a little over 3hrs to get the last entree out and out the door.Sheldon did arrive right at closing and came into the area, never acknowledged either myself or my other coworker. I had to get his attention to discuss this matter in which I was met with many lines of defense. He did make apologies that was met with, I'm just getting conflicting stories. Well I'm the customer and I'm always right. Not to mention I was here, I observed the entire events transpire. My job when I bring customers out is to ensure that the speaker covers the material and allows for 15-20 mins of conversation and dinner to be finished in no more than 1hr 30 mins. So doing this for 10yrs I know what's happening and the appropriate amt of time in which appetizers should be out, salads and entrees so I know how much time we have.I'm sure I will receive a comment detailing how majority of this was my fault however, I am coming from a sincere place in trying to help "work the kinks out".

Went for lunch with 1 coworker. Only 2 other small tables when we were seated. One server on duty. Friendly but took forever to take orders. By then, several other tables had been seated. Waited about an hour for food which was decent but not worth the wait. Another waiter came on duty toward the end of our meal.

I ate here last night and it was ok. I ate here awhile back after hearing the hype I think I just expected more. I tried it again and my food wasn't bad, I had spaghetti which was nice and my guest really liked his scallops. My server, madison, "Madison at the Madison" was a complete delight even though as I sat there I'm not sure they had any other staff despite several other groups dining, and she still managed to make my party of two feel like we were her only table. So kudos to her for not floundering like the gentleman did when I was here several weeks ago. I was hoping things improved, and at least the service really stepped up. The room still looks temporary, but maybe it is.

Have only had lunch there a couple of times. Food was great! Building/decor was nice and interesting how it has been remodeled from the old post office. Lacking one star because of the service. Each time I was there (twice with reservations) my Party stood waiting for someone to just greet us for SEVERAL minutes, and none of those times were they busy. Food is great though. I'm sure the service can be improved in time.

Had a friend's birthday here. Had a few problems. I will say first that my meal, chicken tenders and gouda mac&cheese, was delicious. But here's the problems.. We were swatting flies away the whole time. Waiter was slow and didn't seem to know the menu too well. Our glasses were empty a couple times and had to wait for refills. There was only one or two other tables, so they weren't busy on a Wednesday night. My one poor friend drove an hour and had terrible service. The lettuce in his salad had red spots from wilting and the meat looked grey and unappetizing. He complained and the owner came over and accused him of eating most of it, which he didn't. The same friend ordered a side of the mac/cheese and it wasn't brought out until the end. We also asked for an extra basket of bread and we never got it. Plus they automatically charged us 20% gratuity - for terrible service, that needs to be changed. None of us are going to ever go there again and would never recommend.

I had a family Christmas dinner planned for six guests, some were from Florida, came up for this family holiday dinner. I called Dec. 5 and received a voicemail taking my reservation. I left all the pertinent information and was specific if the reservation could not be confirmed, please call me. Cell phone number provided. I never received a call back, so I thought my reservation was completed. I called Saturday, Dec. 9th, to verify, voice mail again. Our party showed up promptly at 7pm for our reservation, sign on the door stated closed for a private party. Needless to say, our party was obviously upset. I called the next morning, spoke with a manager who could not provide me a reason I wasn't notified. I asked for the owner to contact me, left same phone number. I have still NOT spoken to the owner. I have ate at The Madison three prior times, the service is abysmal. The food is just alright. I wish to thank the "R" restaurant for being so accommodating to our party with outstanding food and service. I have ate my last dinner at The Madison. The poor customer service does not bode well for a new restaurant in Chillicothe!
