The Home Stretch Bar & Grill

Very good Beef on Weck. To my knowledge the only restaurant in the Lexington/Nicholasville area that serves this. Sandwich was created in Buffalo, NY where it is a local favorite.

First time eating here. We ordered the Kentucky Hot Brown with onion rings and a cheese steak with loaded french fries. The food was really good. The waiter never came to check on us and our drinks never got refilled, that's why it isn't a 5 Star. I do want to come back to try the chicken parmesan and one of the cheeseburgers.

Really enjoy the food here! Excellent salad, the beer is good but I always come back for the food. Such a cool little place close to home. I really like the Cobb salad and I get fried chicken instead of grilled. The blue cheese dressing goes well with it because it already had blue cheese crumbles. My broccoli side is always steamed to perfection. My husband's potato skins were great! My sons like the wings. Nicholasville's little secret!

They make a damn good burger! Stop in for lunch or for a game and a drink. I highly recommend the Classic Burger and the fries are killer!!I can't wait to go back and I'm not a big burger eater.

Heard about this local bar/restaurant from my hairdresser so had to try it. It's a small place, super packed (good sign) so we had to sit in a booth instead of the bar. There was only one bartender and one server so service was a little slow. We got a beer and I tried the "Nich" which was a delicious vodka mixed drink. My husband ordered the beef nachos which were good sized, a little dry on top but once you got to the bottom...melted cheese and delicious! The only thing I think it was missing was lettuce but a friend of mine said that's "Americanized" to add lettuce. I was in the mood for pasta and missed the Applebee's days of ordering Pasta Alfredo with chicken and broccoli. It was actually really good and a huge portion. The only thing missing would have been garlic toast. Total bill was $39 before tip so very affordable. There are so many things on the menu to try so we will definitely go back.Hint: Don't get the booth by the back door because that's where all the smokers go so the door is constantly opening and closing.

Decent food, decent service, friendly staff, conveniently located on Main Street in Nicholasville.

Took 40 mins to get appetizers, someone from kitchen walked out 3 occasions to bite nails and watch Tv. Our server was too busy with a big group to get us drinks or ask us if we needed anything. Food was good, but slightly overpriced.

Nice neighborhood-feel sports bar. Service was very good. Everyone commented their food was good. My disappointment ... I'm from western NY and love Beef on Weck. I found it on the Home Stretch menu and was immediately planning a trip. My expectations were set, imagining a pile of roast beef on a Kummelweck bun with ground horseradish. I'm sorry to say, the sandwich I got was roast beef on what appeared to be a Kaiser roll with mass quantities of salt and some sort of tiny black seed. The horseradish was like the Arby's horsey sauce. Not at all what I expected. I'm not saying the sandwich was bad, it just was not a "Beef on Weck". In the end, if we are in the area around dinner time and hungry, we might stop in and get a burger.

The food at Home Stretch has been hot and fresh every time we've visited. Bar food, pizza, salads, you name it! Affordable and service with a smile. We'll continue to visit!

Wife and I decided to try homestretch bar and Grill for lunch. We've been there before and had burgers that were fine, not outstanding but an OK burger Today we thought we would get the cod fish and chips A very nice waitress said that she doesn't eat seafood but people like them so we ordered three pieces when she brought them to the table. I immediately smelled a strong odor, but didn't say anything My wife took a bite and immediately said they taste very strong. I said they smelled strong to me so we called the waitress over told her the fish was not fresh and we couldn't eat it She took the plates and said she'd be right back and see what the kitchen would do. We were a little shocked because we were served bad fish and we weren't sure what the kitchen could do except take them off our bill To our shock, she returned to the table and said the owner took the fish off, but he charged us four dollars for the fries that are included with the order we didn't get them as an appetizer they're included and we didn't eat and didn't want if we weren't going to have the fish to go with our fish and chips She said they're just a small Mom and pop place and that's the best he could do I've never been to a place that serves you food that smells rotten and then charge you for part of the meal on your plate that we didn't want and didn't eat. It was only four dollars, but it is absurd that they would operate a business that way. They put their server in a really bad position to have to tell us that we were being charged for part of a meal that was inedible if the owner wanted to be that petty, he should've come out himself I'm sure they have very loyal customers, but it won't be us ever again.
