The Crosskeys Tavern in Chillicothe is a fun local Chillicothe bar! The bartender Mia is quite entertaining and the atmosphere is comfortable and friendly. If you can catch a band there it's a bonus! Mix of ages from 20s to 70s on a given night. I might of had an encounter with Harold the friendly ghost who is a resident there. My chair moved at the bar without anyone touching it. A gentleman. :)

Great place to hang out, have a few beers, and meet a family. My favorite bar since 2007 when I moved to Ohio.

We stopped in here while we were looking for something to do in town and this was an adorable little bar. It is hard to spot. The town is old and small, so you really have to look for this place. The giant, antique wooden doors are the best giveaway.Inside is a little dark. It is very down home, with mismatched tables and a really beautiful antique bar. The bartender said the bar actually came from the old train station and it really adds to the look. The place is very low key and bottles of Miller Light were 2.25.This is the kind of place where the bartender actually drinks, you can hear your friends talking, and you can relax a bit. From what we understand, they just added a menu, so enjoy after 530 when the kitchen opens. There were only a few items listed but tequila infused caramel corn was on the menu so I would have high hopes for the rest.

This was my husband's "local" when he lived in Chillicothe. The elegant carved wooden bar sets a wonderful tone, and their beer selection has improved in the 20 or so years since the husband lived here. The real treat here is the free live Dixieland jazz by the Goosetown Astonishers every Thursday night -- something that has remained blissfully unchanged in decades.

Went down to explore the town. Really cute historic old town. Went to the antique mall ( well worth stopping in!). We asked for a lunch recommendation. This was one of the first places he mentioned, it's within walking distance.Cute interior!! Looks like you expect a tavern to look. The food was great!! I had the Reuben, hubby had the Danny Boy burger. Food was great, the menu gives you the buildings history! A fun time. We will go back. Oh yes, Thursday night a live jazz band!!!!

Grew up in Chillicothe and always try to drop into the Cross Keys when I'm home. This iconic Chillicothe establishment is so special; The Goosetown Astonshers never disappoint and the Friday fish fry dinners are excellent. After managing the Cross Keys for a number of years, Beckie Scharffer and her husband are now the proud owners! Beckie and her staff have been so kind to my mother who celebrated her 100th birthday enjoying the Astonishers at the Cross Keyes. Last year, she wasn't up to celebrating at the Cross Keys, so Beckie sent a couple of the Astonishers to my mother's senior apartment building! What a 101 birthday treat! My mother had a great time calling out requests and directing the musicians. IMHO, you cannot beat hometown, locally owned and operated small businesses.
