We stopped in because we were very hungry. We had not been here before, so that we would give it a try. We were greeted on entry and told we could choose our table. There was music playing on a machine. We were given menus and we made our meal choices. The food came out in good time frame. Everything good, it has plenty of seating it is for 21 and over although there is a couple of small tables in a seperate area if you have a child That space is not big at all. I loved the look of the building abd all it had to offer and it has a nice corner location and windows to look outside. Staff is friendly and I recommend you give it a try as we enjoyed our experience and prices are fair.

Absolutely great place to go, went after a cold night at perfect north. Great service, karaoke night was the best, food was excellent. Building is old and really cool to see, well maintained and great vibe.

My friends and I went to Main Street in Lawrenceburg Indiana for a wine and chocolate walk. We stopped at this place for a drink and some appetizers. Such a welcoming atmosphere with smiling faces and some country music. Our waitress was adorable. She was new and was enjoying her job. We ordered wine and pretzels with beer cheese and potato skins. Very yummy!! It's a cute place in a darling town.

The Captains Tavern is a local watering hole that's a perfect place for a casual meal or a few adult beverages whether you're a lifelong Lawrenceburg resident or just passing through as a guest at the Doubletree next door. The ambiance is distinctly small town bar -- with a long wooden bar and high top tables offering a warm and casual ambiance along with a good modern country music soundtrack that just feels appropriate for the environment. With only six beers on tap, the beer, liquor and wine options lean towards popular mass-produced brands, but they still have a pretty wide selection and.. let's be honest.. this isn't the sort of place that you're going to ask for a 1787 Chateau Margaux or 1992 Screaming Eagle Cab or an IPA aged with goat milk. Menu is pretty limited but offers a good selection of pub fare. I stopped in for a beer and a burger after a not-so-long flight from the east coast.. and I was definitely happy with my decision. I ordered a bottle of Miller (Livin' the High Life for $2.50!) and the Applewood Grill burger ($9), comprised of chuck mixed with bacon, and served with fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion on a potato roll with chips and a pickle. The burger was really satisfying and served quickly by a very friendly server, Gracie, who checked in a few times made sure I was happy with my meal. Definitely will be back next time I'm in Lawrenceburg.

They don't know the difference between a potato skin and a baked potato, which is enough to flummox any well-seasoned connoisseur of American bar food. And when the mistake was pointed out, the staff just kind of politely shrugged with not much more than a heartfelt "that sucks." Additionally, if the Bengals are playing and you're not a fan of the sports ball, either be prepared to shout-talk over/at the drunken regulars at the bar or pick another joint in which to slake your hunger because they get *loud* and don't give a tuppeny (insert F word here) if you're bothered...

Not a good Friday night at captains tavern. Service was not good... No it was terrible. We brought two couples who had never been here and we felt bad we suggested it. Five of our meals came out, but the sixth was completely forgotten. We had to flag someone down and they then prepared the sixth meal. Another long wait and two couples went to the bar to pay. We did receive a " sorry for the service", but that isn't enough for me to ever bring another person to this place.

Ambiance was pretty laid back. No one really there when I got there. After 10 on a Tuesday. Staff was super friendly and they went out of the way to make me food which is what I was really after.I got suckered into the hanging copper cups so got a Moscow Mule. Not bad. Ginger beer wasn't fever tree but it was delicious. It was a fairly heavy poor too which made me glad I was in walking distance of the hotel. The inside of the building was beautiful. Tall ceilings and narrow lay out. With a small upstairs in the far end. It was remolded a few years back I think they said. It was a pretty awesome spot.So the wrap I ordered was awesome! Took a little while but well with the wait. He put some kind of aioli that was out of this world. Had a little bit a bacon if I remember correctly and he toasted it. Not sure if it was the hunger or if it was the cook but he wrap better than I expected Only down side was the bro country playing on the TV and over the speakers. Not really a country place just what the staff was listening to when I came in late. Not real my jam. What an awesome little bar in the little down town area. I will be back next time I am in town on business!!

Food is very similar in looks and taste to high-school lunch. The bar tender looks like aqua man but he definitely doesn't move like him. This place has drinks but don't buy their food..7/10
