Diamond in the rough. Beautiful old building with light Friday night crowd. Love the ambiance and great staff. With roughly 40 brews on tap, plus bottles, cans and seltzers who could ask for more. The prolific menu is a plus with breakfast, lunch and dinner. Good down home cooking at its best. Will definitely visit again.

Oh so close to breaking into my allusive 5 star rating. Food good check. Server friendly check. Ambiance good as hell, it's an old building check. Food and drink arrival kinda very slow. Touch-less restroom check. Is there such a thing as four and half star review?

I've read all of the contrary reviews, and the only thing I can say is that my experience at the Buckeye Lodge was quite favorable. I thought the food was very good, service excellent, bar staff attentive, management welcoming.My wife and I visited there for the first time last night in support of a friend, who was performing music there with his band. We arrived two hours early so that I could scope out a good location to shoot video of his set. My wife came over directly from work, so we decided to dine there, even though there was a big pot of my fabulous green chile pork stew sitting in the pressure cooker at home.My wife ordered a burger -- I forget which one, but it was pretty hefty and came equipped with a beer cheese that she absolutely raved about. I ordered a Cuban pork sandwich. The last time I had a good one was in Miami 8 years ago, and I believe most would agree that that's a long time to go without Cuban pork. The sandwich was excellent! I needed a doggy bag, though... because of... *those fries*. And I ain't big on carbs. Fries are generally an annoyance to me that usually go cold and remain on the plate when the waiter brings the check. But these were damned good fries. Beer-battered (somehow), and I will not rest until obtain their recipe. They're really that good! Couldn't stop eating them. And, oh yes -- their buffalo wings are also mighty fine appetizers.Mind you, my wife and I are food snobs who believe that our mastery of recipes are superior to most local restaurant fare, although that's not hard to do in Springfield, a town where Frisch's Big Boy and Golden Corral are considered a good night out by some (and too many).I think Raul(?) was our server. He didn't hover to such a degree that we wanted him to just go away, but he was there when we needed him. Hats off to the server.Every time I visited the bar, I was waited on within scant minutes. Hats off to the bartender that night.The manager came by to introduce himself to us. His wife sat down with my wife and conversed with her for almost a half-hour during a break in my friend's set. They genuinely seem to care about each individual customer experience. Two thumbs up, Buckeye! I don't care what the others say!

Great place for drinks and food. The atmosphere is laid back and there is no riff raff in the place.

Met up with some girlfriends after work. One of the ladies ordered an old fashioned and I ordered a martini and neither drink came with garnish. We all ordered meals, I ordered the special which was a salmon dinner. We didn't see the server again until the meals arrived 45 minutes later and then i was informed they were out of salmon. So while the other 3 ate their meals I sat there. In the meantime we got the bus boy to get the ranch for wings that was forgotten, we needed silverware so he got us silverware, one of the ladies had ordered fries which didn't come with the meal so we called him back over and he went and got the fries. He got us ketchup, refilled our water and pop. Our server never made a pass through until she brought my meal. I had ordered a salad which I thought would be quick since we had limited time to spend together but it was almost 25 minutes before the server returned with a side salad. It came with the wrong dressing but at this point who cares. They were all done and I was just starting. Time was up and everybody had to get back to their evening activities and families. I had eaten maybe 2 bites. Our checks came and of course mine still had the salmon dinner on it. It was another 15 minutes to get that fixed. I love the atmosphere of the place, the owner is so nice, but wow the food and bartenders are so sub-par. He must not be willing to pay for experienced help.

Used to be my favorite place to dine as a member with my family. Upstairs is awesome! But now they don't use it. Unless there is a special event. This was the best place in town to have dinner. Now they don't even utilize it! I don't think I will renew my membership. Prices are not wallet friendly either but was worth it in the past. Now service and food isn't even as good. They don't even hear/toast their Italian.! It is COLD!!! Not what you expect for what you pay!

This place is great! The staff here is incredibly nice and take very good care of you. You must be a member to get in after 2pm but they will usually buzz you in anyway. The food is awesome and the burgers are very good. In the morning the have a great breakfast as well and is very cheap. I recommend this place if your just want to relax and hangout and enjoy their many good beers.

Stopped in on a Friday evening. August 2020. Last call was at 10 PM because of the pandemic. Ordered food at 8:30 food arrived around fairly quick. We both had hamburgers and the soup of the day. Food was good service was prompt and polite.

Good place to grab a beer and watch a game but food is very average. No complaints but wouldn't go back
