I was exploring Findlay market during a previous trip to Cincinnati when I saw the Taste of Belgium stall. I've never met a liege waffle I didn't want to eat so I decided to stop and get a dessert after lunch. OMG.So good. The pearl sugar (a requirement in a proper liege waffle) caramelized perfectly when heated back up in their waffle maker. I ordered mine with chocolate sauce and whipped cream and it was decadent and delicious. I also got a bag of 4 of their waffles to go and kept the liege party going for 4 more days once I got home. Popped mine in our toaster crisp them up a bit, it would be great in a toaster oven, too. Craving some right now just thinking about it and really regretting I didn't stop for another round my last visit to town.

I came here because research for our Cincy food tour brought me re: the waffles and crepes. We were just in Belgium for about a week in the spring and you can feel confident that we became very qualified in the field of Belgian waffles during this time. We ordered their strawberries and crème waffle which is served on a Liege waffle. Actually, it would seem from our visit that liege waffles are the only thing they serve here. It's fortunate because they are quite good. Anyway, the liege waffle was cooked very well. It has some crisp/caramelized edges with a nice, soft, and warm interior. The waffle tasted so good I would happily eat that shit plain. The strawberries and cream were a nice touch but the cream was on the light side and collapsed pretty quickly. I unintentionally ended up with a cream sleeve by just being in the vicinity. We saw a vegetarian savory crepe and felt that would pair well with the sweet waffle. We ordered this and had high expectations. I will admit I am much less of a crepe connoisseur than a Belgian waffle connoisseur so take this with a grain of salt but the crepe was WAY overdone. It was literally hard to the point that the plastic cutlery provided didn't stand a chance to cut into this thing. It made it very hard to eat, we pretty much ended up eating stray roasted peppers and spinach rather than properly between the crepe layers. This was quite disappointing and most certainly not something to write home about nor write regarding a highlight of the city's food scene, not to be a dick. GF speculated that the person making the crepe seemed to be distracted with many other tasks due to what seemed like understaffing. Something for the owners to think about if it affects the quality of their product but what do I know? The waffle was excellent, would skip the crepes.

I was so excited to get the lemon lavender crepe only to find it was undercooked. So nasty, soggy and doughy - the cashier wasn't very pleasant and when I called to complain the person was rude. I won't be back.

Tasty stuff. We had walked by the Taste of Belgium location on Vine our first night in town, and then ran into this one the next day at the Market, so we bought some items. I ordered a 4-pack of the Belgian waffles (plain - they had chocolate-covered waffles and others you could purchase as singles, though), two macarons, and two Buckeyes. Unfortunately, when I opened my bag later, we were given four macarons and no Buckeyes, which was disappointing, even though the macarons were tasty. The waffles were also good, and I'd like to go to one of their sitdown locations at some point - apparently it's a Cincinnati chain so there are a few locations.

I think I might have inadvertently now have visited every ToB location...We wandered around Findlay Market early on a Saturday morning, taking in what was open and deciding what to have for breakfast. I am in the midst of a (*grumble grumble*) nutrition program, so I had to walk past some awesome looking donuts and burritos from other spots in the market. I spied the vegetarian crepe at Taste of Belgium, and that didn't totally blow my diet out of the water! Aside from just how much goat cheese is in it... (which, personally, give me all the cheese! To report to my coach..."oh baaaarely any cheese!).The savory crepe was tastier than I could have hoped for! Spinach, roasted red peppers, the aforementioned goat cheese, and topped with a balsamic glaze drizzle thing...crap, it is delicious! The crepe was also cooked and readied for my eating pleasure in an expected amount of time. And thankfully, our group was able to find a table nearby to eat at, since some of our food required knife and fork to eat.It is a decent choice for food in Findlay Market, but honestly, I am more likely to stop in at any sit down, table service Taste of Belgium to properly enjoy my experience there. Still, good food!

I'm getting in plenty more tusslesNow that I've got lots of musclesAnd when I'm feeling awfulI go get a waffleAnd this place makes them just like Brussels! The kid serving Belgian waffles here was friendly and I gave him a nice tip. The waffle itself wasn't too pricey which I appreciated, and they sell them by themselves (no ice cream or toppings required) which I also appreciated. But when you've been to Brussels and you've had the best of the best, it's hard to take anything sold in America seriously. And while I can take the ones sold in Pittsburgh (Waffalonia) and New York City (Wafles And Dinges) seriously because they taste something like the good ones in Belgium, this one really didn't do it for me.It also wasn't really bad and because of the cheap price and the fact that it's in Cincinnati where you don't expect this kind of thing, I will definitely give it 4 stars. But it's a generous 4 stars and if they could make it taste half as good as Maison Dandoy in Brussels they would have 10 stars out of five for me. Which isn't possible. But I would find a way to give them 10. So 4 isn't exactly a glowing endorsement. Not from me.
