"The House of Good Food" Restaurant, Lounge, & Carry Out
The sign with the apparently Native American word caused me to pull into the parking lot and go inside.
Indiana is famous for Breaded Pork Tenderloin. I am pretty sure this is the best I ever tasted, and I grew up in Indianapolis.
Very easy on the purse, compared to the menus I am accustomed to viewing in Honolulu.

Went in for a drink, got IDed twice and a photo taken of my ID to pay $7 for a shot of Jose quervp tequila that's $20 a bottle. The hours and and days they're open are ridiculous and when you finally make it in to try the place for the first time it's a total let down will never be back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone worst bar I've ever been to. Over priced, poor service, and an uncomfortable silent environment.

We used doordash the other day to order from Takathemoke. My doordash driver called me and said he was at the restaurant and they had not even started my food. Apparently they got burned a few times and they don't start the food until the driver gets there so that made our wait more lengthy than it should have been. So setting that aside the food that we received was good and hot when it got here. We ordered the breaded tenderloins because that's what they seem to be known for. We were not disappointed with the tenderloin it was not too thin and it was breaded and fried well. The onion rings that I had with mine were too greasy and not crispy enough and I got I saw a side of coleslaw and it had good flavor. We also ordered breadsticks and they were the typical breadsticks and cheese. Maybe the onion rings would be better if we ate there instead of ordering it to go? The hubby liked his tenderloin as well and he got the buffalo chips on the side and said they were ok.Next time we eat here we will probably eat in and we do recommend the tenderloins.

When traveling The Hinterlands of the Heartland, roughly midway between Indianapolis, Indiana, and Cincinnati, Ohio, you will find it worth your while to take a detour to Milroy, Indiana and the TAKETHEMOKE restaurant.TAKETHEMOKE means "House of Good Food" in the Native American Shawnee Language. They are NOT kidding !!

Results are in: breading was great, but more breading than meat on the tenderloin. Slaw was awesome. Husband had chicken....darn near meatless and overcooked. Mashed potatoes were instant and runny. Took over an hour to get our meals. It is cooked to order, but we waited, with an annoying fly, in a very cold place. I'm quite sure the air is full blast. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, but refilled my diet Coke with tea....Under $26. With tip. Still not worth the drive back. #notimressed #rainydaynoloss #wontdrivethisfarforgoodslaw

Amazing staff! I get the breaded pork tenderloin with fries ALL THE TIME Mariah is always the one who waits on me when I go there and she is just one such a sweet person. The tenderloins are ALWAYS huge. They are as big as the box and fills me up for sure!! They are never cooked to long either, they seem to ALWAYS be JUST right!

My wife and I have driven through Milroy countless times, and I always think "We need to stop here and have a meal", but we're seldom through at mealtime. Saturday, we were, and when I saw they have a hand breaded tenderloin, I knew that was what I wanted to try.It was very, VERY good. Well above average, and the price was VERY reasonable...a large breaded tenderloin (They offer two sizes) and a side for $6.95. They've got a number of sandwiches on the menu, and some more "fancy" dishes too, like fresh Walleye, some steaks, and so on.Honestly, I was torn between a 3 and 4 star review because service was a tad bit slow.....BUT we had dinner at 330PM, and they weren't staffed for dinner, so I decided to cut them some slack and go for a 4. We'll certainly return.
