What in the world has happened to this place?! Rumor was the owners were new but nothing would change. Horse pukey!! Everything has changed and not for the good. We were surprised they weren't packed as usual at the time and day we go. We now know why. We got our drinks, placed our order and never saw our waitress for coffee again until she brought our food. Used to be there was always someone walking around making sure everyone had coffee. But, we couldn't even catch anyone's attention. It was during this search we realized we recognized only 1 waitress. Two members of our party ordered the truckers special. Always a favorite. It was brought out and the gravy was cold. It was sent back to nuke. I ordered chicken fried steak which is one of my favorite items here. The patty was nothing more than a frozen little patty with very little meat, half the portions as before and fried so long I could fix my boot sole with it. HUGE disappointment. Two of us ordered rye toast. It was marbled bread and I mean bread. That bread hadn't hit the toaster more than 10 seconds. Sadly, we had family join us who were in from out of town for our daughter's wedding. Of course we bragged about the food to them before we were served. Been eating at this location for many years. In fact, we still call it Mixin' and Fixin's. We stopped going to the location in Mechanicsburg last year after we noticed the change in food quality. But we rarely go to that one so we figured it was the location. Nope! The Studebaker's have just lost decade old customers and it would appear we are far from alone.

Solid country food. Biscuits are fall apart fluffy. Country fried steak was as good as the title suggests ( it's not filet mignon folks). The green beans, believe it or not, almost seemed too fresh! When I order a carb dense platter of gravy, "steak", and biscuits, I kind of want canned green beans jazzed up with bacon. You know what I mean?! It's part of the flavor profile. Coffee was strong enough-- well past the too weak brown water that some places pass off as coffee. Service was very friendly!

I stopped by around 8:00 am on a Saturday morning. There were quite a few vehicles in the parking lot....a good sign. I was quickly greeted by a very friendly server who took my drink order. I noticed on the Specials Board that in addition to the standard breakfast meats, they offered Fried Baloney. I am 76 and baloney was a major food group in my younger years. However, this was a first for me at breakfast. I ordered up 2 eggs, homefries, FRIED BALONEY and a English muffin. My breakfast was excellent.I have driven more than 1 million non comercial miles across all 50 states since 1954. I have seen my share of country restaurants. Castle's is a winner in my book. I want a tasty breakfast, friendly service, a clean facility, an interesting menu and finely, a drink to go. You will not be disappointed with a visit to Castle's.

I frequent twice weekly, once a week sit in, once a week take out... but no more. I won't pay 48 dollars for a wrong order not made right twice, and by the time I got home, food was soggy! I requested from 2 different location an email address, or a return call. After a promise by 2 locations several days ago, I would receive a call back, I have not. So this leaves me to cover my concerns publicly if a customer can't even get a call back . On August 3rd, I telephoned an order for my usual once weekly take out, 8 thighs, double cheeseburger and appetizer onion ring. I was first told, we don't sell chicken by 8; when on their menu they do sell them by the piece. Ok I said then 2 orders of 4 would be fine. When I picked up my order, I paid 36.00 and waited for my order as it was not quite complete. I checked my order,And received a 2 drumsticks and 2 thighs and the onion rings were small. ( We all Share them). I completely understand something getting messed up, so I showed the hostess what I received and it was not the correct order. She orders again my thighs, I paid 12 dollars for them, and I received my order. ( I tried to show her the menu which she said was older and that, 48 dollars for my whole order was correct.) I asked for the manager and she said they don't have one???? Ok, we'll have them call me then when they are in... "sure", and gave my phone number. I had to get home and trusted that the order was correct. Upon opening the food, I had received a breast and wing and a thigh. Now the food was all soggy as well. I waited and no call back to I called to another location who also took my number as no email was available. The restaurant has surely gotten shrink-flation and the size of even the wings are so tiny. It's too bad cuz it was such a good restaurant but the last 4 times, not so good. I'm a pretty understanding person, but we all work hard for our money and if this is the way customers get treated, I won't be the last to leave.
