Believe it or not, finding great ethnic sausage in Cincinnati isn't easy. It's a brats and metts town. We had family down from northern Ohio and struck out at jungle Jim's and Kroger's. LK is at Findlay market but not in a really safe area of town. We found Stehlin's! Super nice and we got a fresh batch of garlic sausage and cheese sausage. They were fabulous! I highly recommend. Worth the drive across town for us lame East siders

I drive all the way from Batesville, IN to Colerain to get my Stehlin's fix! It is truly the best around, and worth the drive! I love Stehlin's so much, I featured them on my blog.https://karenpopecannady.blogspot.com/2020/04/feature-friday-stehlins-meat-market.html

Unless you are a regular they don't treat you very kind at this place. I stood in line while 2 people cut in front of me to checkout.. I just let it go. then as soon as I get up to the register.. the guy walks away to talk to a "regular"? another worker comes up to the cash register, looks RIGHT AT ME.. then looks over at another customer that just now finished getting what he needs and waves him over and says "here I'll check you out".. WTF? Lol I laughed and left my stuff sitting there and walked out. I use to be a regular here.. I'd come in once a week but since I moved away I don't get to that area much. they've always been WAY over priced.. specially for stuff like Baked goods and their jarred stuff on the shelves (meats for sure since the quality isn't any better than a grocery store). I paid the prices because they were local and I wanted to support the smaller business. not anymore. There are far better meat markets in the area.

You shouldn't get your meat anywhere else. This place is ran by fantastic people with amazing knowledge and passion for the industry. Also very clean and organizedI have bought filet from them several times never disappointed in the cut (how can I be?) or the service. Their twice-baked potatoes are also amazing - bake them about 5 minutes longer than instructions say though, trust me - DELICIOUS. We've also got their pulled pork and it was a huge hitI actually enjoy coming to pick up our food and seeing all the different cuts they have. Can't recommend this place enough.

They make the most AMAZING smoked sausage I've ever tasted. It's become a legend in my extended family. It's been fondly spoken of at every family event for over 60 years!!!!

My family and I go to a different butcher around town ever year to get meat for our 4th of July cookout. Each time they were very nice. This time we wanted to go somewhere close to home. When we got to the market my dad and I walked in to see how many people were in the building. As soon as we stepped foot in the building some guy yelled and screamed at us to get out and wait. He didn't even say please! Very rude! When we were able to get in after 2 people left the store, we went to go look for meat. No one greeted us. Personally the meat was way over priced for the portions they had. My dad and I decided that we could go somewhere better. We left and went somewhere else miles up the rode who were much more polite.

This old school butcher shop is the best. They have the best meat, and selection, and the guys are all friendly and fun.

This used to be one of my favorite places to go. They always had a case full of fresh variety sausages which were my favorite. Their bratwurst are the best in Cincinnati. The last couple of times I've gone in there the varieties about half of what it used to be. Most of it is prepackaged up and he can't get the fresh made stuff anymore. It's kind of a drive for me and if I can't get what I want I'm not going back. Not recommended anymore. Really a shame.

I just received the second half-cow that I've purchased that has been butchered at Stehlin's. The first time was okay but this second time I'm extremely disappointed.First cow: This was my first time getting a butchered cow. I was pressured to get my steaks cut in such a manner that they basically just ran them through a band saw. I was insistent that I did not want the bones in my steaks. For the most part they did that, although, there were a few. The roasts were cut in such a manner that they did not fit into my pots or crock pots, this was disappointing. On the whole it was a mediocre experience, but I was willing to use them again.Second cow:This time I ordered a half cow from a different rancher. When I called Stehlin's I was pressured to have my cow cut as I previously did. I get that this streamlines the process but I definitely wanted changes in how the cow was cut. When they called me to say they were getting ready to cut my cow they tried to get me to have it cut as I had previously, despite me already having placed my butchering order a few days before. Upon receiving my cow I discovered that it was butchered to about half of my specifications. Again, despite telling them that I wanted the roasts cut smaller, I still cannot fit them into my pots and crock pots. I was also told that double wrapping of butcher paper was not an option. I already knew that they do not vacuum seal.Summation:They have a clean operation. While they are not rude to you on the phone you get the distinct impression that they just want you to take the cow as they want to cut it and get you off the phone. The customer service aspect definitely needs work. I just paid a significant amount of money for the butchering but it was not correct and my order was extremely reasonable. The next time that I order a cow I will definitely go out of my way to order from someone who does not have their butchering done at Stehlin's.
