The Southgate Community center is a well taken care of community resource. The building itself appears to be new and modern. Large windows let in plenty of light. Bathrooms are there as well. A roll up window for concessions is there, but was not in use during our visit. More than just a building. The Southgate Community Center is surounded by a park, a baseball field, playground, green space/soccer area, hiking trails and fishing pond. The fishing pond is what brought us to the center. Our Scout Troop had learned of it being stocked with trout days before our visit. (A number of Northern Kentucky ponds/lakes are stocked by the county.) Unfortunately, no one in our small group caught anything. A professional photographer was there conducting a photo shoot. This seems to be a very versatile area. There are a couple of parking lots. Plenty of parking for our visit. If something such as a baseball game, or community event was going on, parking may be at a premium.

I have photographed two weddings here in the past month and was really surprised by the Southgate Community Center. I gotta admit though, from the parking lot it just looks like any other concrete building, but if you look at the other side you'll notice that two of the walls of the main hall are completely glass. This is particularly nice for weddings as it provides ample natural light. There is a full commercial kitchen and a few smaller rooms for meetings, meals or whatever else your function may need. I'd definitely recommend this as a great location for an event!

Tucked away in the suburbs of Southgate lies the city's community center. The main room is a gorgeous glass building overlooking rolling hills and vast forest. It's a perfect spot for a business function, wedding, or musical performance. The city rents out the community center for only $600. It accommodates up to 300 people and offers catering and bartending services. There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy a free public event here, such as National Night Out in August (a meet-and-greet BBQ with emergency workers), Arbor Day and Earth Day celebrations, and the citywide Christmas party.Whether you live here or are just stopping by, the residents of Southgate will welcome you to their town with open arms.

It is a beautiful space. But we recently had my dads funeral there and the event planner Chelsea was unprofessional, unkind and unorganized. She showed no compassion to a grieving family. She was rude to my family and the funeral director and didn't even have the room properly set up for us. Pretty space but I'd ask to work with someone else.
