This was another of those quintessential places we wanted to try but hadn't really had time, that is, until a good friend was having a birthday dinner here. That was the perfect reason to try and it turned out being excellent. Great food, very laid back atmosphere, and excellent top-notch service. We went on a Saturday evening with a party of eleven. Of course, reservations were made in advance. The place itself was pretty open with lots of comfortable seating. They also have lots of outdoor seating with a nice waterfall. Our server was super friendly and attentive. Their food menu is loaded with lots of tasty options as is their libations menu. Their wine list is VERY impressive. Here's what my lady and I enjoyed:Drinks:-Pinot NoirAppetizers:-Grilled Sourdough with Bone Marrow Butter-Escargot De BourgogneDinner:-Faroe Island Salmon: Whipped Potatoes, Charred Broccolini, Lemon Vin Blanc-Grilled Pork Tenderloin :Saffron White Beans, House Made Chorizo, Swiss ChardEverything was delicious and we really enjoyed all of it. My lady's salmon was so good I stole a few bites from her. Plus it paired very well with the pinot noir. This place would absolutely make a good couples night out. It may be a little pricey but it's certainly worth it because you can taste the quality in every bite. We're definitely coming back here again.

My Mr and I rarely are on the West side. Our good friend was planning a surprise birthday intimate gathering for his husband. He made reservations on an early Saturday night. My first thought when we pulled in was, wow what a beautiful restaurant out of all places...Price Hill. The inside is warm and inviting. The menu is simple but all meals are made with fresh ingredients and unique. Their wine and cocktail menu is more extensive. Their wines are handfully picked and different. We ordered:Drinks:-Pinot Noir (French) 2 glasses Appetizers:-Grilled Sourdough with Bone Marrow Butter-Escargot De BourgogneDinner:-Faroe Island Salmon: Whipped Potatoes, Charred Broccolini, Lemon Vin Blanc-Grilled Pork Tenderloin :Saffron White Beans, House Made Chorizo, Swiss ChardMy favorite for the appetizers was the sourdough bread with the bone marrow butter. Fresh and you can taste the butter melt. Very mouthwatering. The escargot was a bit salty but the bread helped balance the flavor. I tried a little of the charcuterie board and it was delish! All went well together. Our entrees were magnificent! The salmon was flaky and cooked medium. All with great flavor and paired well with my wine. The service was great! I brought cupcakes for my friend's birthday. They were nice enough to bring plates out. What an awesome experience. Our friends mentioned that they want to come back with us when they open the patio. My Mr and I look forward to another visit. This is a great place to spend with friends and family.

Been wanting to try this place for a while and was impressed. We made reservations for 6:30. Looking inside when we pulled up, it looked empty, which made me nervous. The hostess greeted us at the door and asked if we wanted inside or out. Even though it was November, it was a nice night so we opted for outside. The outside, at least at this time of the year, isn't really outside. All the windows are covered with a thick type of plastic to help keep out the cold. In addition there was a beautiful fire feature in the middle back of the room that put out a nice amount of heat. There were also standing outdoor heaters available, but they weren't on nor needed. We started with the Bone Marrow Butter and Grilled Sourdough. The grilled flavor of the bread tasted a bit strong at first, but topped with the bone marrow butter, it quickly turned into a delicious treat. We also ordered fries as an appetizer. They were very good. The wine was good. Bourbons and ryes were well represented. They also have Heineken 0.0, but it isn't on the menu.Everyone loved the main courses. My niece and I had the Faroe Island Salmon. The salmon was done to perfection - so delicate and flavorful. The broccolini, potato puree and sauce perfectly accompanied the salmon. Mark had the Tomahawk Pork Chop and raved about it. My nephew had the Filet Mignon. He didn't make mention of it during the meal, but when we were getting ready to go he admitted everything was delicious. We weren't leaving without dessert. They had four (not on a menu, so I'll do my best to describe) and we ordered one of each. Chocolate Pot de Creme was thick and delectable. The Carrot Cake was outstanding. My nephew said it was the best he'd ever had. Mark had a lemon cake that was to die for. So light and airy and... lemony! I had a small taste of the Creme Brûlée. It was definitely tasty. The Pot de Creme and the Creme Brûlée were the smallest desserts. The lemon cake was larger and the carrot cake was a big serving. All were delicious. We would absolutely return. It'll be nice to sit outside when the weather is nice and it's still light in the evening.

We came here for Cincinnati's Resturant Week and we were not disappointed! Everything exceeded expectations from the food, to the vibe of the restaurant, down to the service! Our waitress helped us pick out the perfect bottle of wine. It's a cozy restaurant with great food!!

We met friends there for a dinner and we were blown away by the food. Everything was well prepared and the wine we paired with the meal was excellent. I felt it was a great value too for the quality of food and the service. No need to drive all the way downtown for this level of food as this place is a hidden gem on the West Side. I almost hate adding this review because I would love to keep Somm on the down low.

What a terrific surprise Mother's Day pre-celebration! First, my son's fiancé, looking ahead at the weather, requested an indoor seat, but it turned out to be a lovely evening and we were able to switch to the patio. Then, the server was awesome: professional and attentive, including splitting our salad three ways as we approached our meal with a tapas attitude. The baked Brie appetizer was tasty, although I'd have preferred more grilled bread to skip the crostini. The beet salad was a tasty precursor to our wild mushroom risotto while my husband really enjoyed the salmon with spinach and whipped potatoes. The wine list is exceptional. We had an Italian Falanghina that I rarely see on local menus and wrapped up with a good Limoncello. As my son's fiancé, new to Cincinnati, said, "We'll be back, for sure."

As someone who travels a lot, searches our new establishments and is passionate about good food - let me just say.... Wow. We visited Somm Wine Bar for my birthday with two friends. Immediately, I was loving the environment and live jazz resonating through the patio. When greeted, our server was kinda authentic and attentive to what we were looking for. Even with a completely packed restaurant, she was on top of it. The night before, we'd visited a steakhouse and enjoyed it, but Somm took the win for the weekend. We all got different dishes and tried each persons. There wasn't 1 thing I didn't enjoy. The cocktail and wine selection was fantastic. Presentation of food was outstanding. I personally ordered the Shrimp Scampi and my partner ordered the filet. I frequent a well known steakhouse in Cincinnati (we won't mention names ) and this filet was as good, if not better, than said establishment. Cooked perfectly and didn't need to pair anything with it, as it should be. Toward the end of our visit, the general manager checked in on us twice. The kitchen was a little backed up because of the amount of people, but who can be mad at that with good music, good drinks and a great environment. Well done to the staff and especially the manager of Somm. We will be visiting more in the future, without a doubt. Cheers!
