I ordered the Chinese eggplant with garlic sauce for takeout. It was amazing! Perfectly balanced spice and overall flavor profile. The eggplant was so good it just melts in your mouth. I would not recommend eating an entire portion by yourself for lunch. Feeling like I have been a little overzealous with my portion selection.

Intimidating menu, spartan "ambiance", excellent service and food.Looking for something better than the generic Chinese restaurant and less pretentious than the fakery that is PF Chang's, this is the place for you. Parking can be a challenge, but it's easy on Sunday.Next time you're craving Chinese, check out Sichuan Palace.

Meh. I will say that I am a diehard Sichuan Chili fan. When I heard they might have competition I had to check it out. In order to make it fair, I ordered the same dish that I typically get at Sichuan Chili. One- the chili oil wontons. They're small, thin wrapper, served hot. They're much different than Sichuan Chili- theirs are thick (thicker than they seem in the photos, almost doughy). Point for Sichuan Palace. They could've used the minced garlic on top and maybe just a touch more depth in the chili oil, but not bad. I'd get these again. The entree was the boiled beef (aka boiled beef in spicy sauce from Sichuan chili). For the same price, there was about half the portion that Sichuan chili gives. Where SC is saucy and you can eat on it for days, this was a smaller portion and far less sauce. Fried rice was not an option and the portion of rice compared to the dish was small. Where SC is a flavor explosion, this is more subdued and had a very distinct toasted flavor to it. It was ok. The drink menu was lacking. They didn't have a lot of what was listed and what they did have the staff wasn't knowledgeable about, making the asking price a bit steep. We asked for tea and received one cold can of tea and one glass of water. All in all, if you want Sichuan there is no contest that Sichuan chili is where it's at. This is a nice place if you're in the area though.

Got takeout from here! Originally wanted Kungfood but they were closed. I can't say this is the best chinese food i've had, but the takeout process was very simple. Hot and sour soup was just okay. The chicken was kind of squishy. needed more sauce. Not a bad option in a pinch. Was packaged well for takeout and offered me chopsticks and forks.

This is one of my favorite Chinese spots in town. I visit on a weekly basis for the authentic Sichuan cuisine, and the food is remarkably consistent. I absolutely love the vegetarian mapo tofu and the twice-cooked pork. The staff is very attentive and generous.

In a quest to find the best Chinese in the city, Sichuan Palace makes their case but I will keep searching. The Kung Pao Chicken was the highlight. If you are like me and my gf and get grossed out by large/uneven looking chicken then here is your sign to get this because the chicken is small and delicious. The sauce is sweet and fairs well with the fried rice. The Peppered Beef was decent. It doesn't pack a ton of flavor, it was more so just to have a variety of meats on the table. I found myself chewing for long periods of time, but I didn't mind. The dumplings were solid but were carried by the Chilli Oil. They sell that stuff by the container. It's hot, it's spicy, and I'm sure they sell a lot of it.The fried rice was okay, pretty bland.Overall Sichuan Palace is good, but it's not great. Scratch that, it's great but it's not $60 Dinner for 2 great.I think this is an excellent spot for a group dinner where you order a few shareable options for the table. But for some reason Cheap Chinese Takeout that only comes in pale containers will always be the way to go.If you are in the area check this place out, but if you are ordering takeout try something else.

Redirected to this place after my other choice was not open, I found it busier than expected, and I was virtually the only non-Mandarin speaker there. (Well, I remember a few phrases from taking the language in college). Anyway, that's usually a good sign.My ma po tofu arrived looking much like at the hole in the wall place where I first had the "real" version of this dish, which is properly flavored with a fermented broad bean paste (doubanjiang) and an astringent Sichuan peppercorn that makes the mouth slightly numb. It was tasty stuff; a bit unsettlingly so, but that's kind of the point. So salty, so oily, extreme in flavor. My iced tea washed it down well enough. There wasn't an enormous vegetarian section and it wasn't cheap for what I got, but it was a proper version of a dish I wasn't sure I'd find in this location.

Green beans and red chili chicken is the best combo. Service is attentive and nice, not much to the interior but cozy.

I'm town for business and stopped here for lunch. The staff was so friendly and the food was delicious. I got the Szechuan chicken and the only thing I would as for is a bit spicier. Will definitely be back if I have the chance!

Got orange chicken. Basic, hard to make poorly. So I thought. Heads up: it is all dark meat - balled up with a ton of soggy breading. Must be the top of a chicken leg with tendens and all. So disappointing. Yard House has an orange chicken on their menu 10x as good. Had veggie rolls as an appetizer and I know I live ten minutes away but they were also so soggy. No crunch. Flavor was fine on them.
