This is a great place to throw a holiday party! The owners live on site and do take value in serving their guests. This venue is located in an old one room schoolhouse. When you walk in, it's a long room with plenty of tables set up for all events with a large bar where food and drink can be served. There has been an addition added since the old school room days with updated bathrooms, a room with an additional bar with a piano and library, as well as a nice foyer.

Wonderful people. And one of the best Old-Fashioned's I've ever had in my life. And I've had quite a few. Seriously top-notch worth the drive from Cincinnati it's that good.Great atmosphere inside & out.

What a neat winery! First off, GPS will probably take you right past it but they had plenty of signage. Second, the hospitality is amazing and the wine is delicious! Not too far off the exit from I-71, this was fairly easy to find. I've been wanting to visit this winery for a bit so I was glad to find the time to visit. for the tasting, there is a small fee (which you will run into any visit to a winery in Kentucky). I had the pleasure of having a great conversation with the owner about how they came to own the building and how they became winemakers. After telling my mom about the visit later, I learned that my grandmother had attended the school the winery was located in while she lived in the area during the '30s. This was a really cool tie-in for me. Being in an old schoolhouse, the names of the wines reflect school themes. Wines were named "Prom Night", "Recess" and "Teacher's Pet" along with others along the same line. I appreciate this type of theme and the wines were so good! They had a nice selection of reds and whites. There were board games and they often have events or live music. When I'm back in the area, I look forward to stopping by again.

Cute place with friendly staff in a cool setting. I'm not going to sugar coat the wine, it is not the most complex apart from some of the reds, but honestly, the ambiance and down home feel make up for any lack of structure or body in the wines. I did a red flight and found the Cabernet to my liking as it had some pepper notes and berry flavor that would pair well with a heavier meal or cheese. Speaking of cheese, my wife and I shared a cheese plate that was packed with delicious items. We sat outdoors and enjoyed the peacefulness apart from a few flys that wanted to enjoy our cheese. BACKOFF my cheese! ha ha As far as COVID-19 is concerned, tables inside are spaced apart and the staff used masks whenever possible. I look forward to future visits and sitting indoors enjoying wine and a music performer on the stage. In closing, Schoolyard is place that is worth a visit. It's great to see a winery with charm and genuine salt of the earth staff.

I came here for a meet up with new people. I brought my husband here so I can have a DD. We were greeted by Gary, the owner, wine maker and bartender together with Terry another bartender. They were both Very nice and accommodating. The price of the wine is very reasonable and the ambiance is very relax and appropriately decorated. Wine tasting is $5, you cannot beat that price considering there was at more than 7 different kinds of wine in the sampler. I highly recommend this place if you are trying g out new places to try wine and to hang out with friends. Let us start supporting local businesses. We will definitely go back again to drink more wine and have a great time. My favorite so far is the Recess and jalapeño Bloody Mary. I bought a bottle of each.

5 stars are insufficient to describe this place, it's more like home and Gary (the owner) is so welcoming :) the tasting room is super cozy and there is a second tasting room on the rear end (ask Gary/wine-tender). Wines are super good And you will certainly have a handful that suites your wine buds! They even have a couple tasty beers on tap!!! Love it, already recommended to few friends and will be back many times!!!!!

This place is a must!! The hospitality is amazing and you'll definitely get your money's worth and more. Aside from that, the wine is delicious. They have everything from drys to sweets. Oh and also, your drinking wine from an old school building (No ghosts ). How amazing is that. A must to stop by and try.

My wife and I stopped here on a Saturday afternoon. We tried a flight of wines and liked them all. We settled on a dry rose and drank a bottle while there. The owner was so nice and offered us a taste of their Bloody Mary made with their jalapeño wine. It was outstanding!. We will go back for Bloody Mary's! He also gave us samples of other wines...some on the list to purchase and one that he had just made but wasn't for sale yet. Everything we tasted was great! This is probably the best winery in Verona KY. Friendly people, good atmosphere, good prices, and good wine. We will be back!
