Sakura Japanese Steak House

I was initially wary about dining at Sakura Japanese Steakhouse, especially after seeing some bad reviews that were over a year old. However, I decided to give it a chance, and overall, it was a good experience.The main reason for my 4-star rating is that the portions were noticeably smaller compared to other Sakura locations and hibachi restaurants I've visited. What surprised me the most was the $5+ charge for fried rice when ordering a dinner--I've never encountered that before at any Sakura or hibachi spot.Despite these drawbacks, the staff and teppanyaki chef were very nice and friendly. Denise, in particular, stood out and honestly made a big difference in my experience. Without her excellent service, this might have been a 3-star review.The food itself was good and fresh, but the smaller portions and extra charge for fried rice left me a bit disappointed. The pricing here also felt more like what you'd expect in Northern Virginia or Washington D.C., which was surprising for a restaurant in Indiana.Overall, a decent place with good food, but be prepared for smaller portions and unexpected up-charges.

We enjoy this place it's a little pricey but that's because you're paying for dinner and a show we hadn't gone to this location before we normally go to the one in Cincinnati but we stopped going to the one in Cincinnati because of an issue with their kitchen but this one the food was good the chef made us laugh if you're looking for a fun show with some good fried rice maybe chicken steak or shrimp I really enjoy their soup and their ginger dressing for salad definitely worth checking out

The food was great! Our chef was not very entertaining or enthusiastic, but he made great food. He seemed a bit disorganized but overall great experience!

Visited for the first time this past week! It was fun! The chef was very funny and kept everyone's attention throughout the meal. The portions were huge and my favorite part was the fried rice. I could eat that stuff all the time! I'm sure the "show" put on by the chefs might wear off after several visits but I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone for a unique dinner with family and friends.

Small but amazing food, drinks and hibachi!!! Definitely a hidden gem! Will be returning

Very disappointed.Hubby wanted to try this place as we've passed it many times. Stopped in this Saturday evening, was told we could pick any seats in the bar area, and we were given menus. After 10 minutes, no one ever came to even say hello so we moved over the actual bar. The bartender Susan was very helpful and new but did a nice job. This is where the compliments stop.Food was tasteless and bland. We ordered the teriyaki chicken for two and although we asked, we never got the sushi menu.The meal for two is as $38.00 and if you wanted to upgrade to fried rice, it was an additional $5.75 per person. The food came quickly (as it wasn't hot) and the portions were so small, it was ridiculous. The meal should have come with salad, soup, a shrimp starter, rice and teriyaki chicken for two.Each plate had one cup of food on it with a very small dish of rice. I seriously had ONE piece of zucchini, one ‍Please save yourself some time and money and choose another place.

Not very impressed with the service I had this evening. Over an hour before they started cooking. 45 minutes to get a refill. In that same time the other party at our table was served four rounds of drinks. The soup we were served was lukewarm at best. And the salad I was served with just the ends at the base of a piece of lettuce nothing really substance or tasty. For as much as they charge is not really worth it. During my hour wait for food I was honestly considering leaving as it didn't seem like the staff gave a damn about me. If your looking for hibachi I would recommend kabuto in Colraine over this place. It's cheaper and a much better experience. Debating calling the health department.

This place has great food!!! I love my meal every time!! However it's a bit dirty and needs a bit of work. Also went when the A/C was out during the summer which was MISERABLE

Okay so we went to Perfect North Dec 2022 and decided to stay over for the night and our birthday kiddo wanted hibachi. This was by far the closest but the reviews made me very concerned. It was actually really good, I'd give it four stars.So we arrived parking was great. Part of the outdoor sign is out (they should get that fixed). We had made a reservation for 6:30 which was good as it got really busy on a Friday night and all the hibachi tables were full. The cook did a good job and waitress were prompt. We had hibachi chicken, steak, and shrimp in our party, and everyone was happy with it and we had a ton of leftovers, like a TON. I would suggest actually doing the split plate option. The meals were a little pricey (kids meals ~$20 and adult meals $26-$45 depending on choice) but for quantity of food it wasn't crazy. We had bought 2 adult and 3 kid meals, we could totally of just done 2 adult meals added the split plate fee (I think $10 and includes extra soup/salad) and one kid meal and completely been able to heavily feed five people. I would recommend for a night out. I was a little bummed they don't do anything for birthdays, my son told them it was his 7 th birthday and they were like okay that's nice. The hibachi place near us does a cute gong, song, and dessert. But still that's just icing on the cake for a regular meal it was fine :)

Unfortunate experience. Minimal service. No soup, salad or sushi. Main course came out before everything else. Drinks were empty the entire night. Spend your money somewhere else.
