Sake Japanese Steak House

We stopped by Sake, which is my boyfriend's favorite sushi place in the world! I started with a hot sake and miso soup. Ironically the sake was scalding to the point where it hurt your hand to pour yourself a cup full and the miso was lukewarm. These temperature mishaps are the reason I docked a star. My boyfriend is obsessed with crab Rangoon and the one at Sake is his favorite. I'm not an expert on the dish, so you'll have to trust his word. The exterior was crisp and the dipping sauce was a slightly sweet soy sauce - all in all I enjoyed the dish. I had the spicy tuna roll. The tuna was fresh and the spice level was decent. Again, I'm not a sushi expert, but I enjoyed my rolls. Sake offered 30% off most of the menu so the price of the dinner ended up being quite reasonable. Service was very efficient and the restaurant was clean and inviting.

Decent sushi. The meal off the hibachi grill was pretty average as Japanese Steak House fare goes. Not disappointed not wowed. The presentation/personality of the cook was way low key. I kinda expect that cook to be totally entertaining and high energy. Again the food was fine. We felt a little crowded at the table too. Would have waited for the next table to be sat and be less crowded.

Sake now is your best choice for sushi here in W. Springfield. Service, cleanliness, and attention to detail, something that sadly is now less than stellar a few doors down at its sadly limping "cousin," Sakura. We had a great dinner here Friday night, and didn't feel like we were interrupting the waiters/waitresses, nor coming at a "bad time," which was the case our last visit to the other Japanese steak house choice down the street. Not sure if they're run by the same owners or not, but if you're in the mood, and in the area (still not quite worth a special trip...) this is your best bet for Japanese on the "strip." Sushi or Hibachi, give it a try!!

Im giving two stars because the food was edible, but not good. Our table all got the hibachi and received very minima interaction from our chef, which is part of the experience for us. We were one of two parties getting hibachi at the time, so the restaurant was not busy. The food was.... Food. Nothing remarkable, and definitely not worth the $150 price point for 4 of us.

Best spot in town! Very clean inside. And the food is always great! The sushi chef knows his game!

All I can say is that this place was totally an unexpected find in Springfield, OH! You do have to look past the exterior, but once inside this place is very welcoming and comfortable. Service was great, we were greeted and seated quickly, and there was little wait time when our appetizer and entrees arrived. We ordered the spicy salmon roll and yellowtail roll - both were great and fresh! We both ordered the Tokyo (shrimp and steak hibachi) and it was amazing. I've been to several Japanese steakhouses, but this one in Springfield so far has been the best (including those in Columbus and around Easton). This is a gem folks!

The food is alright depending on what you order. Service is good not too shabby. It's a little pricey for what you get in my opinion.

Sushi was not fresh and had to be sent back. Also, it was definitely pre-made and was at the tablebefore anything else and in under 5 minutes!Spring rolls although crispy outside due to my requesting "extra crispy", they were still mushy and undercooked inside. Prices were well above food quality. Service was prompt and good!

Great food , attentive staff wonderful experience. I enjoyed the Hibatchi shrimp & steak .
