Roscoe's Coffee Bar and Tap Room

Roscoe's is such a gem for Richmond. It's nice to hang out, either in the coffee room or the beer room. My drink is always top notch. Thank you for existing!

What a great local coffee shop! Relaxed vibes with tall ceilings, comfy couches, wifi, old-school video game consoles -- there's even a piano. Love the Historic Depot District, and Roscoe's commands the bottom floor of a storied building there. The owner takes his coffee seriously, and it shows in the product sourcing, roasting and equipment. There's a tempting selection of flavored lattes, all available hot or iced. My salted caramel variation was a great way to ward off the chill on a rainy, cold winter day, and it was easy to hang out chatting with my friend for an hour. Look forward to coming back for a craft beer in the adjacent taproom.

This place has a little bit of everything. We visited one night to grab a beer in the taproom, they have options on draft and in can. There is indoor and outdoor seating along with games to play. The next morning we stopped by to grab coffee and breakfast. Everything we had was delicious, but personally loved the acai bowl the most.

What a treasure to happen upon!! We were looking for a fun coffee/ breakfast spot to visit with relatives in the area and found this gem!Great coffee! Great service! And let me rave about the avocado toast! It's fantastic!The place has a great atmosphere and they have come up with marketing strategies to successfully use every bit of the space. It is a lovely place to visit with friends and family. And there are a couple power chargers in the ceiling if you need to plug into work and get a few emails out.

Interesting place with a definite retro vibe, hippie coffee shop feel. Just missing a folk guitarist in the corner. They did have some 70s era music on. It was very much background, low volume. There are two doors. Main entrance takes you to the coffee bar counter where you can order a variety of non alcoholic beverages as well as sandwiches. Take a seat in the big lounge and they'll call your name. Tables, sofas, soft chairs, all kinds of seating and looks like you can linger as long as you want. Board games and cards available as well as a couple of vintage video games for your enjoyment. The tap room side is down a level and you can enter through its own door from the parking lot, or from the coffee bar lounge. This is also counter ordering and the beer selections are viewed on a screen or you can scan a QR code. The seating down here looked a little sterile but you can just take your beer upstairs. In fact before 3:30 it's unlikely anyone will be stationed at that counter so you have to go up to order the beer, and they'll bring it. It's a little bit confusing if you're new but we figured it out after a while. The staff were all friendly and helpful.If you're big on craft beers the selection is awesome. Me, I hope to make it back for an Americano!

Roscoe's is located in the Depot district of old Richmond. There are several small parking lots around the building, and plenty of street parking. They have the usual traditional offering that any coffee shop would, but there is also a TapRoom for afternoon or evening beer sampling. It has become my favorite place to meet my daughter for breakfast and coffee. I feel like a responsible healthy adult, yet indulgent every time I get the avocado toast. The avocado toast is crisp sour dough toast, with fresh avocado drizzled with olive oil and red pepper flakes. You can sit at a table or on couches, depending on how cozy you want to be. It is a great place to work on a laptop, and not far from IU East or Reid Hospital. They have old school arcade games, and board games. Make the experience whatever you want, but it is a unique hip atmosphere.

Only been in the morning, but ambiance is very solid. Hot chocolate and muffin like $5, great Wi-Fi, plentiful places to plug in laptop. It's a regular stop for me now whenever I have to work in Richmond.

I went there for the first time for Music Bingo, and I went early to eat. I ordered the Indiana Swiss sandwich, Kettle Chips, Pickle and Lemonade. I would try the coffee, but coffee keeps me awake in the evenings. I will try it when I am there earlier. The food was delicious! I had to have more Lemonade later in the evening for a snack. I was new at Music Bingo, so I had to be taught how to play. Employees and other players were nice enough to tell me how to play. I was even taught how to cheat by another player by using the Shazam app, but other players were doing it, too. I even helped him with the older songs. I wanted to get pictures of people winning, but I was trying to play. I didn't win, but it is a great place to go to, and I want to come back for the next Music Bingo.

I can speak mostly to the coffee. It is excellent! Their in-house drinks are well-crafted. I also buy whole bean for home use. The Auteur blend for espresso is next-level, but all the whole bean coffee that I have had has been great. Richmond is lucky to have a coffee roaster that produces this quality. Also, as a side note, they have soft pretzels that are amazing. Hopefully, those stay on menu.

So, I've been coming here for years. Good coffee, good beer. But lately....it's filthy. The bathrooms are dirty, the floors need mopped and the carpet needs a vacuum. The outside area is unkempt and broken down. It's nice for a face lift, or at least a good cleaning.
