Joe the bartender is awesome. Knows what we drink when we walk in. Service with a smile. Beers cold. People are nice.

I've been to Rootie's a few times now and I just can't get past the service. There is usually only one bartender working and although the space is small, this place gets jam packed on the weekends and seems to be "the go-to" for locals. Waiting in line, and then standing in a sweaty group barely able to extend my forearm with my beer is just not for me. On our most recent trip, we ended up leaving after we couldn't get a drink and it was extremely hot and uncomfortable in there. I know it was not the bartenders fault, and honestly I really felt bad for her. But unfortunately this place gets a - meh, I've experienced better from me :(

This place is yet another one of the small bars that line Harrison Ave. in Cheviot. There is nothing offensive or outstanding about it. It is just another bar.It is a casual bar that anyone can walk into. It is not a locals-only, where only the regulars get service. On the other hand, it is not a place where you are welcomed in as a long lost friend. You are generally ignored by the other patrons and staff alike.Service at the bar is perfectly reasonable. The place is never so busy to make you wait for your drink for very long. My go-to drink is a tall diet and vodka... their tall is very small. It does not last me very long.... The drinks are not weak or strong- just average.Prices are about typical for the area of town. Definitely cheaper than a bar downtown. The bar itself is small and clean. Plenty of seating along the bar and at high round tables. Bathrooms are old, but clean. There is a jukebox, but fortunately the music is never very loud. If you are looking for a casual night out with friends, chilling and talking, Rootie's is a perfectly acceptable place to go.

My favorite west side bar. Very good beer selection and a much friendlier experience than I had next door. #fuckyougene

Rootie's is a nice break from some of the other bars in Cheviot. They have pool, they have darts, they have good, well-priced drinks; they don't have a concept. And honestly, the lack of a concept is refreshing, and indicative of the Westside bars I grew up with. (Yes, I know that sounds funny, but it doesn't make it any less true.)Stop in for a drink and relax. Don't expect overly loud music or overly rowdy people - just a good place to stop & get a drink/Best of all: scuttlebutt says there's a subterranean room in this bar that is only opened when the owner wants to open it. I've never been, but for goodness' sake - it's subterranean!

It is a small bar but quite pleasant. I personally like that it is not the typical Cheviot bar. I personally like that the music is not so loud that I have scream at the top of my lungs to have a chat with my drinking buddies. The drinks are well priced. Nice place to just hang out.

I personally think Rooties is thee best bar in Cheviot! It's just a little bar with wonderful bartenders, and the owner is awesome too! I have never been disappointed when I've gone there. I go every weekend, it's never too crazy that you can't get a drink. Drinks are the perfect price. All of the customers in there are nice. I don't have one bad thing to say about this bar.

Rooties is a small and quiet bar in cheviot with decently priced drinks and great staff. This is definitely my bar of choice because it's never too busy and always has a great atmosphere
