First, thanks to Cincy Cindy, Cincinnati Yelp leader, for reviewing barbeque places recently during her weekly chats with Scott Sloane on 700 WLW on Fridays (at 11:30) and mentioning this place. If I had not heard her glowing recommendations I doubt I would have ever stopped here. So, you may ask why would I not have stopped here. Well. Ron's is a food trailer in a business parking lot. It has one small picnic table outside. Just would not have caused me to pull over. Today I was over in that part of town running some errands and planned to stop at Ron's to try out the food. Great decision.I got the pulled pork sandwich ($5). It comes with cole slaw on top, but I had Ron put it on the side. Also, one of the other Yelp review recommended the potato salad ($2). Not that I am a big fan of potato salad, but figured I would give it a try. Ron makes his own barbeque sauce. It is a sweet sauce with a kick. The pulled pork sandwich was great. Meat had a good flavor and was very tender. I must say it was the best that I have had. The "suggestion" to go with the potato salad did not steer me wrong. It was very good. I also enjoyed the cole slaw. They have other items on the menu: hot dogs, metts, steak burgers, chicken, steak and ribs.Since the location is a little bit of a drive for me I figured I may as well get some ribs to go for later. I got a half slab ($12). These appear to be St. Louis type ribs; however, they were meatier than any other St. Louis ribs I have had. My half slab was 7 bones. He cut them apart. It is put on two slices of bread and covered with his special sauce. This was a lot of food for a half slab. As I said, they were very meaty. Ribs were tender and tasty. Excellent ribs. Bread came in hand to sop up the loose pieces of meat and sauce. When you go, and you really should, I would recommend trying both the ribs and pulled pork, so go hungry or bring a friend to share with or have some there and take some home for latter.Lastly, I need to comment on the environment. There is a sign out which says, "no loitering and no cursing". Let me just say while I was there I experienced and observed several interactions and all I can do to describe Ron as "very nice person and a true gentleman" and he really enjoys cooking great food.By the way he is closed on Monday's.

I like the food at Ron's BBQ. I do, But I am not entirely sure that the food served here - strictly speaking - is barbequeBarbeque is a technique where meat is cooked "low and slow", that is to say at low temperatures using indirect heat and smoke over a fairly long period of time, generally hours. The meat cooked in this fashion gets a signature reddish "smoke ring" just below the crusty edges. I saw very a little of this on the ribs I had here, and none at all on the chickenWhile this all sounds very negative, I prefer to see the food here as more the type of "barbeque" one would have in the backyard on a nice summer day. Strictly speaking, thats grilling out, but bottom line is the food you get at those is great too, even if it isn't barbeque in the truest sense of the wordThe ribs, chicken, and other items I have sampled here were all reminiscent of what I'd eaten at summer backyard grills. That is to say - very enjoyable. Especially the ribs (see pic). But - not barbequeOther staples of the backyard grillout - burgers, metts, slaw, potato salad - are on the menu as wellThe only thing I did not enjoy was the pulled pork, which seemed to be cooked well in advance, chopped finely, immersed in bbq sauce, chilled to be reheated in a microwave when ordered. It was perfectly edible, but just not something I'd order againI should mention that this is an outdoor operation, so hours can and do vary due to weather. This is a cash only enterprise, and the owner/operator Ron is very nice and easy to talk to. Parking is on the street next to the lot that Ron's trailer is set up in, and there is a single picnic table there to eat at if you are so inclined

I had Ron's BBQ yesterday at a community match baseball program and the pulled pork was AWESOME!! I loved it! Just the right touch of heat in the sauce. I heard from everyone else that the BBQ chicken was excellent as well but I didn't have it myself. Everyone was talking about how good the food was. He was very nice and the cooking area was spotless. Very impressed!

Had the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw on top, it was good didn't blow my mind but it was good I kind of expected a side for the price 5$ sides 2$ more guess that's not unreasonable. It's a gut truck a small table out front and that's all really I took my food to go, I notice the ribs are raved about but they weren't made yet so couldn't try it come later in the afternoon and expect to spend a little money, there's not a whole lot of parking around but it seems most customers come by foot.

Walked over yesterday for lunch. Ribs and pulled pork were the best I have had in a long time. I appreciate that cole slaw was put on my sandwich without me asking, Ribs were tender and full of that smoky goodness.

The BBQ is the best coming straight off the grill. You have to get there early so that you can get your meat because he may run out if you wait too late. The great thing about Ron is that he is mobile so he is able to participate in community functions and festivals.

Rons food is outstanding! Not only is the meat delicious (ribs, chicken) but the sides are wonderful. The potato salad is some of the best. Ron catered my husband,s birthday party for 100 people and everyone raved about the food. He set up his grill in our driveway. It was pretty cool!
