Ordered the burrito special and a small bottle of coke to go. The burrito was skinny on meat. Really skinny. The tortilla was super fresh and soft. Green salsa was HOT and flavorful

I was looking for something quick and close by and I ran into this place. The menu looked appealing so we gave it a shot. The space is small and is one of those family owned business, not the greatest decoration or anything but it was clean. The staff was okay nothing too welcoming nor friendly. We ordered a pineapple water because they didn't have passion fruit, I was not a fan because it was mostly ice and very sweet. To eat we ordered carne asada and 2 pupusas (cheese and loroco). The pupusas were basically more dry dough than anything, we only ate one because it was not too great. And the carne asada was not tasty at all. The meat was dry and hard, and to top it off they gave me plastic ware so I couldn't cut it. The only things that stood out were the Chile toreado and the spicy salsa they had at the table.I wouldn't go back for the quality nor the price for the food.

I have been wanting to try pupusas for awhile. They come in various flavors, I tried the bean (black) and cheese and chicken and cheese. I strongly preferred the chicken as it was lot more flavorful than the bean. This particular item is kinda like cooked dough or massa. I really like tamales and this reminds me of that, though I actually prefer the tamales. They typically come with a slaw that you can choose spicy or not. I thought it was really complementary. They have lots of items I am not familiar with and I plan to return to try more items.

Friendly, fresh, fast, affordable, and absolutely incredibly delicious. Only warning here -spicy means spicy. The Verde is HOT! Still excellent foodI got the steak burrito extra black beans, my friend an assortment of pupusas. The pupusas are cheesy goodness with mixed meats, flavorful, inexpensive, and come topped with a pickled cabbage blend. The burrito was one of the better I've had in the area, in part because of an amazing retired black bean base. Definitely worth supporting

If you Google "pupusas Cincinnati," one of the first search results that pops up is a Yelp one called "Top 10 Best Pupusas in Cincinnati."Well, this is a bit misleading, because there ain't no "Top 10 Best Pupusas in Cincinnati." That's because there ain't no "10 Pupusas" in Cincinnati, except maybe in folks' private kitchens, but last time I checked, Yelp didn't cover those. There might be a couple of taco trucks offering this wonderful Salvadoran griddle-cake item, but as far as sit-down restaurants go, this Mari location is the only game in town as far as I can tell. (I'm not counting Mari's original restaurant in Hamilton as "Cincinnati." Sorry, Hamilton: No offense intended, but that's too long a drive.)Mari actually has a relatively long and varied menu, with generally Mexican (tacos) and specifically Oaxacan (tlyauda) items, American stuff mainly for kids, Central American soups, and so on. But so far we've had only the pupusas, and these seem quite good in our somewhat limited experience (our original experience with them came at Pupuseria Divino Corazon in Gretna, La., just outside New Orleans where we lived for a number of years). The pupusas here are big'uns: an order of three won't fit on a paper plate unless they're overlapping substantially, like an order of pancakes. Several varieties are on offer, including a mix (pork, beans, cheese), loroco (green flower bud) with cheese, chicken & cheese, etc. They're all good, and a good value in 2022 dollars at $3 each. They've been griddled nicely, and come out piping hot. One thing that's a little odd is that the curtido (the spicy, partly pickled slaw that normally accompanies pupusas) comes in a relatively small serving that isn't necessarily enough to cover your pupusas. But Mari also offers some bracing housemade salsas with your order, too, to amp up the flavor a bit.The staff is very friendly.

Good Salvadoran food. Very delicious! The pupusas are a good size and filling. I got the mix (bean, cheese and pork) they were hot and made to order. Can't wait to go back and try their other food. They have a nice selection of dishes to choose from.

I got the entomadas with chicken they were excellent. Very good taste off the beaten corporate path, good personal recipes. Wife the Sopas with chicken and cheese and I wish I would have gotten these they very different but oh so good. Everything is home made and the taste just explodes. Definitely stop here if you want some authentic Latino dishes. Glad we stopped in.
